The game play itself is fun and runs smoothly. However-I cannot in good conscience recommend this game to others for two glaring reasons; Whitewashing of history and blatant racism in the sense of totally oblivious and ignorant (ignorant here in the true sense of the word rather than a insult) rather than maliciously intended which is the only reason I am even willing to look into these games at all.
The game portrays the natives as clueless helpless people who don't care about the resources around them and openly welcomed and cheered the conquistadors as helpful companions who they are just so glad are there to help them out. Yeah, not joking at all here. I wish i was, There is problem #1.
Problem 2: The 'cavemen' they have randomly jump out of holes in a sort of nod to lost world fantasy? dragging clubs with low brows, that whole low IQ look as they set out to demolish your buildings? All black. Yeah. Again not in the intentionally malicious style but just developers who somehow were totally oblivious.
Again the game itself is fun, but the sheer disregard for history and issues related to color and race mean I cannot recommend this game series for any reason to anyone and especially not to a younger audience even though the game play itself is worthwhile and engaging.
It is a real shame that whoever made this game series is either totally clueless or simply did not care of how this would be viewed as a series. I am writing this review in hopes the developer may take a deeper look and maybe release a better version someday, Doubtful given the age of this game series, but if nothing else maybe they will tread more carefully in future.
great game
time waste Combines puzzle solving games & "clicky" games With beautiful calm music The game is great for passing time while you are at work or a place to wait, calming you down and relaxing yes It has a relaxation system, but we need other music .These words come from someone who has a thousand games, trust me

good game, time waster, what I like to call a "clicky" game, because basically all you do is click
I cannot in good faith continue to play this game. The portrayal of the Spanish as heroes who repair the what the game calls Indian (they are Aztec) homes. The Spanish slaughtered the Aztec Empire and conquered their land and plundered the riches. Truly not a moment in history that should be glossed over as a moment of compassion and humility.
When I bought this game I was hoping to play as the Aztec and kick some Spanish ass.
Brilliant game, story line, graphics brilliant well worth the money
Slow moving characters are (very) annoying, especially compared to the Roads of Rome series, but it's a decent puzzler.
The game is middle ground.
Interestingly made game interesting story and tasks.
But even the easy level of difficulty makes you rush for the bonus.
About 30 -40 minutes per level without saving the game. You can't remove buildings, you just build.
The screen looks constricted and better to play at a calm level of difficulty.
Plus, there are no achievements.
With a good discount, the game is worth it.
It's a relaxing-but-challenging (if you're playing on a timed mode) time and resource management game, which involves an oddly satisfying combination of building, exploring, stat-raising and secret finding. Not as streamlined as the other parts of the trilogy (most notable for me is the fact that Adelantado DOESN'T PICK UP STUFF ON HIS OWN FROM BROKEN JARS...!) and you can't get rid of buildings after they break. In general, however, it's a settle-down-with-a-nice-cuppa kind of game. Be warned, however, the levels ARE long and you CAN'T save during them.
But if you like the idea of a game where you can build structures AND your stats while gradually uncovering the map AND finding secrets/exploring dungeonesque areas sounds fun to you? This might be your kind of game. :)
Very fun take on History , lost of fun details !
If you enjoy classic time management 'clear the path' style games, this is the ultimate. I wish there were more games like it, but aside the three 'books' of the trilogy there seem to be none. It is simply fantastic
i enjoy time management games. diner dash was my favorite and this one is great fun. wish there was more, like a book 2.
This is my Go To game. I have never had technical issues.
The game is simple and has clear instructions. It is all about building, exploring, interactions with local tribes and expanding your area. Once this is done you move on to the next level and a new area to explore.
The levels are much longer than other game of this genre, making it quite engrossing and satisfying when complete.
This is the first of three in this series. The next two have some improvements in the game play.
It's a pleasant and relaxing game. Levels are about 45 mn long, so it's a good idea to be able to play without timer.
Very good city building game. The only thing I hated was half way through you had to fight off Cavemen. WTF? That took away from the fun of the game for me, I still recommend this game and the other in the series. Oh and you can't save your game so you have to complete each chapter in order to quit or when you log back on you have to do the last chapter over again. 9/10.
A great strategtic game that is really enjoyable to spend your free time on.
Cute little game very thoughtful... thanks guys well done.
i wish you had all 4 of the games
Unlike some of the other reviewers I love the Adelantado Trilogy. I already own it through Big Fish Games, but I wanted to have it on Steam, too. I hope the other two parts are released on Steam as I will surely buy them.
The reason I like it is for exactly the points other reviwers made .. I like the graphics, I like that the first chapter shows you how to do things, I like the settings, and I like the bit of South American history that's slyly inserted, even if there are some fantasy elements in later chapters.
In parts 2 and 3 of the Trilogy, it's much more free form and some of the irritating things, like having to click for Adelantado to pick things up from broken barrels become automatic, which is a great relief, and you can destroy unwanted buildings, too.
As The Gentle Hermit said, it's a gentle game, very family friendly. I really hope people will give the game a chance as it really does get improved with each part of the Trilogy. I wish there were more parts.
Couldn't last more than 2 hours..
I really tried enjoying the game but for some reasons I couldn't continue
1. Extremely repetitive actions
2. Placing buildings is a mess. They have trouble fitting and once you've placed them you can't even destroy them and to place them elsewhere.. (unless there's an option and I didn't see it)
3. All you ever do is follow endless instructions about the tasks. Example: Restore building X so we can have X resources. Build a tower there. We need more food build some more gardens. Go there to help that guy. Click here, click there. Do this, do that. It ends up being really annoying and dull. The game gives almost 0 liberty to the player to do things their way.
4. From what I saw you only have your main character and the labourers. You main character is the only one who can breaks pots and talk to the Indians and other people in the game. So again, that makes for endless clicking everywhere that does not give you any sense of accomplishment.
5. Extremely repetitive actions (see what I did here)
6. Nothing exciting about the game
7. Your buildings lose some efficiency over time and I don't even know if you can reset them or do something to restart production (honestly at this point the game I didn't even bother looking).
I still enjoyed the graphic style of the game (don't get me wrong it could've been a great game if only the tasks and missions were a little more interesting) but the structure of the gameplay is just very dull and unfulfilling,
I'm sorry if my review seems rash but it's what I felt playing the game..
Don't buy if you're over 12 yo I would suggest..
This is a gentle, family friendly game with similarities to the MAOI titles, Promised Land, Happy Hereafter, etc. Yes, it runs on rails, the story is basic and the play repetitive; sometimes some of us like these features.
Pros
Its pretty
There are plenty of directive hints
After the first chapter there are things to do while waiting for resources, finding 'secrets', collecting from regrown berry bushes, picking up resources, chasing off cavemen
Some decisions about what to build and where are left to the player (not many unfortunately)
There is a relax mode (no timer)
Cons
No warehouse inventory, so you cant tell if you have a stock of unprocessed goods
Conclusion requires 'expert' status to be allowed to play
Waste of time.
Waste of money.
Defenite luck of any kind of interest.
Went through Chapter one, hoping that there will be something interesting that requeres player to do anything.
Blindly following instructions and demands of food wood stone and iron.
Clicking over and over to brake barels with useless food.
Story line is straight forward: "Hello, I am poor native indian who just sits here and cannot repair his own house. Could you please help me, and I will let you to be directed to another poor indian, that needs a starfish, just because. And he will direct you to another indian, that needs that totem to be repaired, and he will step away, so you can collect the gold behind his back. And remember that if you do not repair my house, all this chain will not happen."
Did not have to think about anything.
No addicting element.
Grafics for this kind of game is nice.
Will not recommend.
Whant my money back.
Total dissapointment.
Игры похожие на Adelantado Trilogy. Book one
