In this updated version you'll be able to interact with a lot of objects in the environment thanks to your "Soul controllers".
- With right controller (trigger) you'll be able to teleport to different places on the island
- With left controller (trigger) you'll be able to create stones that you can use to create zen gardens or throw them in the sea
WARNING: The game runs only with the HTC Vive.

stupid game stupid devs
Yikes.
I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.

Heaven Island/Forest Nights/Life might be the first asset flip I ever encountered. I started 'playing games' again in 2016 when I got the vive, so I wasn't really aware of the concept. Hell It's not really even an asset flip, (hard to deduce that when the content is mostly just the environment) but It's all still void of any substance. I quess it was the first 'game shaped object" i tried. You teleport around a static low/poly aliased island. Apparently you can pick up rocks and stuff. Maybe it was more quaint at the time. It has trading cards but they are cheap.

I tried this game twice, once yesterday and again today. Yesterday, the game decided one of my lighthouse stations was a controller. This meant I only had access to one controller, and it wasn't the one that would allow me to teleport, so I was stuck in one place.
Tried it again today, still only had one controller, but at least I could teleport this time. What I found while moving around was quite a disappointment. Items in the world (like buildings and trees) wouldn't appear until I got close to them, within about 10-15 meters.
Furthermore, I could teleport inside of anything; huge rocks, a bridge, that giant Buddha statue, nothing was solid aside from the ground. I teleported inside of things several times since I couldn't even see them from a distance. Also I'm leaving a trail of rocks everywhere I go, because for some reason the controls to teleport are the same as creating a rock where your controller is located. This eventually started to lag the game as well.
All in all, this game is poorly made, and it's certainly not even worth it with 20% off of $0.99. This is something that's only worth getting if it was free, unless the developer put in a lot more work to make it polished.
This game is painful to my eyes. The teleportation system sucks so much that you can teleport inside solid objects that weren't even visible on screen. Don't waste your time even if you get it for free.
I wouldn't recommend this to anyone (unless you like rocks)... a complete waste of every penny spent.
even for free i wouldnt recommend it
its so buggy
its a tropical island rendered in nintendo64/playstation1 graphics
all you can do is teleport around and glitch through walls, towers, rocks, the water etc
oh and collect shells, you can collect shells... and apples... for what? who knows!
Apparently, the only reason anyone is giving this game positive reviews is because you get some steam cards... and then they say uninstall because it's garbage. Stupid reason to give a terrible piece of garbage of a game a good review. Don't waste your money on this. Go buy a soda instead.
idk this game
It's shovelware. There's no gameplay, the environment is a fullbright Unity box, there's no collision on indoor spaces so you just fall through the floor. It's not something that a person should charge money for, or pay money for.
I would call this crap but that would be giving crap a bad review. Like a bad stocking filler at Christmas I had 1$ left on a steam gift card so I brought this.
Which is the worst decision I have ever made in my entire life and I have made some bad decisions. Getting married to young, having kids to young, deciding making McDonalds my career of choice. Having sex with my cousin, having sex with her mom, having sex with her husband, buying the new Doom. All bad decisions but spending 1 dollar on this eclipses them all.
Overall if you're Hitler or Stalin buy this game otherwise avoid it like a new case of the black plague.
Oh and I had to run twice as long as I had first tried to just add this review
Updating review:
Just gave this another go as I felt I may have been a little unfair in my original review. After another 2 minutes I concluded that it is in fact worse than I originally had you believe. I would not recommend this game to either Hitler or Stalin as neither deserve to endure Heaven Island.
This game looks and plays like undergrad's intro course assignment. It won't cost you much you won't be playing it much either. Structures in the game appear and dissapear depending on how close you are. You can't interact with these structures either. The water also cannot be interacted with though it is not an impediment to your movement.
The only interactivity is a ball that you can hit and you can drop rocks on thing. There are also apples and sea shells you can explore to find and "collect" by touching them and making them dissapear.
It's not worth a dollar.
I mean what's $.99. So for that little amount, I guess it's worth trying out just to experience all the VR there is to experience right now. However, there is little appeal. I knew it didn't have much going on when I bought it from the other reviews, but I did think I'd be able to walk across the pier to the house. Instead I ended up in the pier, and then under the water. There is no solid surface except the ground.
So it's cute and all; a nice little project. But it probably shouldn't be sold for any amount of money though and Steam should be embarassed for letting this on here.
The price of this game is so cheap that you will not lose much. But consider this as an experiement of VR someone tried and decided to ask money for it (I am quite surprised this thing was allowed in Steam). Believe me, you will uninstall the game almost immediately.
This isn't functional enough to review positively.
Nice, relaxing indy title. Not a huge amount of content but perfect if you just want to escape to a sunny desert island. I'm happy to support upcoming VR devs.
The game is finally fixed as far as controllers are concerned, however that doesn't add any value to it. The game looks visually pretty bad, the screenshots are a bit misleading. On top of that, most of the static meshes dont appear until you're right in front of them.
There are sections of the map that involve raised up buildings, however the teleport function doesnt allow you to move along the z axis and as a result you can never go inside them.
Refunding it, even though I only payed $0.80. Not worth anything, get it when its either massively overhauled or just free.
Does not work properly, as user Ekku Zakku pointed out, the game detects a lighthouses as one of the controlers, i was not even able to teleport as i only has to rock reating controllee (useless except for making rocks).
Dont bother downloading until issues are fixed.
