SENRAN KAGURA SHINOVI VERSUS immediately follows the events of SENRAN KAGURA Burst, revisiting the fierce rivalry between the girls of Hanzō National Academy and their sworn enemies from Hebijo Clandestine Girls’ Academy, the latter of which have now gone underground and formed a mercenary strike team known as the Homura Crimson Squad. In addition to their old adversaries, the Hanzō girls must also face a whole new set of foes: the students of Gessen Girls’ Academy, who seek to punish them for their imperfections as shinobi warriors. Meanwhile, a new class is in session at Hebijo, and these students mean business: they oppose all three of the competing factions and will stop at nothing to be the last shinobi squad standing – even if it means leaving broken bodies and shattered dreams in their wake.
The stage is set for a shinobi battle royale. Heroines and renegades battle saints and sinners in a flurry of fists, feet, clothes, tattered remnants of those clothes, and sometimes underclothes. Each school has a story to tell, full of tragedy, heroism, pathos and partial nudity. Choose a school, prepare for battle, and follow the Path of the Shinobi.
Key Features:
- A Little Violent, a Little Sexy, a Ton of Fun
Fight with a team of buxom ninja girls in a 3D brawler containing massive mid-air combos, revealing cut-scenes and special Secret Ninja Art techniques, all while struggling to stay clothed as damage is depicted by the deterioration of each girl’s outfit. Now in HD and silky smooth 60fps on Windows PC. - Master over 20 Fighters, each with a Unique Fighting Style and Abilities
Each of the 20+ shinobi has her own unique weapon, techniques and special moves, while Ninja Arts can be harnessed to change costumes and power up in mid-battle. PC version comes standard with all DLC from the original PlayStation(r)Vita system release. - Story Narrative told from Four Different Viewpoints
Each of the four rival shinobi schools takes a turn at the story narrative, providing background on motivations, relationships and hobbies, while the original Japanese voice-overs with English subtitles bring each girl’s distinct personality to life. - Innovative Multiplayer Modes for 4-Player Battle Royale
Up to four players can compete online in one of three modes; classic Death Match, Strip Battle to unclothe your opponents, and Understorm, a race to grab the most falling undergarments from the sky.

I normally like these games but I couldn't mash through this one fast enough. Definitely rough compared to later entries. Who tf needs to parry even 1 time let alone 100 times smh...
Came for the plot, stayed for the boobs.
So Basically I Never Played M-Rated Video Games For Like My Years Since I've Finished Burst Re:Newal I'm Now On Chapter 2 Of The Senran Kagura Saga Also I'm Really Am Enjoying M-Rated Video Games For My Very Own Adulthood! :)
At first I had this review as a do not recommend because the difficulty was way too much to handle.
Turns out, I had chosen the wrong school. Now the difficulty is simple and has a low learning curve. The combat is a bit clunky and I've heard that improves in newer SK games. The fanservice is awesome and I don't think I'll ever turn off the clothing tearing animations. It's a laid back and easy game which is great when all you want is to relax with some cultured gameplay.
its fun

One day we're gonna reclaim the word "goon" but for now that basically describes this game
An actual good story? In MY funny boobie ninja game? More likely than you'd think!
Buenas tetas y buenas peleas
Que mas se puede pedir
🦧❤️
Man, I'm REALLY not beating the allegations with a review of Senran Kagura, of all games. If my name wasn't already mud for reviewing such cultured titles as "Oppai Succubus Academy", this would be the review that sends me hurtling deep down into the pit of despair where all the most reviled anime lechers lie - the Minoru Minetas, the Teruteru Hanamuras, the Master Roshis and the Parco "Chichi wo Moge" Folgores of the world.
But there's one important difference between Senran Kagura and your standard-issue smut: there's a good game here. Some would even say a great one.
So what's this about, anyways?
Taking place after the events of Senran Kagura: Burst on the 3DS (if you want the lowdown on that story, buy up Burst ReNewal, the remake), Shinovi Versus centers on an end-of-the-year competition called the "Shinobi Battle Royale". Win, and you and your school of ninjas get to keep your honor. Lose, and, like the left side of Prince Zuko's face, it all goes up in flames. There's a fun, punchily-written story all throughout, and each of the four shinobi schools (Hanzo, Gessen, Hebijo, and the unlockable Crimson Squad) gets their own campaign. Think of each school as having its own "timeline": Hebijo's story, for instance, is the darkest and leads to a lot of major characters getting ambiguously killed off, but that doesn't happen in the other stories. The writing is always doing this delicate balance of silliness and seriousness, a bit like the Yin-Yang-Flash modes you have to balance when you play.
Is the gameplay any good?
I'd say so! If you've played a musou game before (Dynasty Warriors, Hyrule Warriors, etc.), you'll feel right at home in Senran Kagura: beat up hordes of ninja enemies and whale on named characters with elaborate skill trees. There are actually three skill trees for each character, if you can believe that! There's Flash mode (which you start in), and then you have the option to switch to Yang mode by doing a magical girl-esque Shinobi Transformation, or switch to Yin mode by breaking out of your uniform and fighting in nothing but a swimsuit. And there are 22 characters, so that's technically 66 different skill trees, all in one game! No small feat.
Also, and this is REALLY important if you want to get your friends into this franchise: you also get the option to toggle all the really sleazy, gratuitous shots on and off if you go into the system settings. That's right - you can play Shinovi Versus COMPLETELY CLEAN, if you prefer. I definitely recommend this option if you're here for gaming instead of gooning.
P.S. - I don't have a controller for Steam, so I should probably mention one downside: the controls. They're odd. And the keybinds will lie to you and tell you to press completely different keys. Check out the Estival Versus guide if you get too puzzled.
way too much talking, gameplay is kinda slow and you need to earn ingame currency for customization but all in all its a good old game, not really my style but i paid a ton of RPGs recommended for the steam deck and im going to play them lol.
That said, i wouldnt play this until you watch the anime. I tried to play it before watching the anime and nothing made sense to me but after watching the anime you feel more of a connection to the game in terms of understanding the characters etc. The game itself doesnt do a good job at displaying any sort of character building etc, and like i said it is WAY too much reading. There is times that i even decide to read but 5 mins into reading one dialogue about random filler, i just hit skip...
If you enjoy fighting RPG's, i would recommend using youtube before purchasing this game to see if its what you would enjoy, i bought a large group of games from a recommended list for the Steam Deck but i did NOT look at gameplay video of each individual game, maybe watch a streamer before you decide.
Playing on a RTX 3080 and on certain levels my frames drop below 30. Aside from that, solid game.
Interesting game, but I could not get into the combat
Cute 💛 💛 💛
The UI is ass and some battles feel like torture to play.
Other than that, it's okay.
Pretty okay Beat-em up; the camera is jank and the gameplay *feels* good but you can get frustrated by the stunlocks and goofy AI.
You're mainly here for the fan service, and boy, it's pretty good; Future games in the series improve upon the gameplay greatly though, Specifically Estival and Re:BURST Still worth it on sale though
10/10 jiggle physics
best dogshhit i've played 10/10 w
Tits, ass and fast paced musou action. Only complaint so far is that you can only have an accessory per character but I hope the sequels fix that
My first ever Senran Kagura game was Estival Versus back when it released on the PS4. Have played most games in the series since then, and had just finished playing Burst Re:Newal before starting on this one. It seemed a bit primitive at first, not having a lot of the bells and whistles more of the recent games have, especially if you enjoy all the costume stuff like I do, but to my surprise, what I found was still a very enjoyable casual hack n slash sort of game with strong writing and characters that will last you quite a while if you want to see everything. And for all the stuff that is absent, I feel like the gameplay at its core is actually a bit snappier to be honest. Hard not to recommend this to any fans who have yet to play the older titles in the series.
I like girls
I love the story of this game. The problem I have with it is that the balancing does not exist so you are either wiping the floor with the enemy or they are not giving you a chance to get a hit in. I still suggest this game to anyone that likes the series. Just don't start with this one.
This game is good, but feels like the weakest of the canon entries of the series.
The best thing about this game is the combat. You can cancel attacks & guard at any time, FEEL the difference in different characters' flights, & the characters that felt clunky in the previous game have all been fixed.
I think my least favourite thing is the way every character has the same transformation. It feels more like following a formula than showcasing the girls' personalities.
Other than that, it didn't make me feel much. The story wasn't that interesting except for Hebijo, but it's all still canon, so snag this game once it's on sale.
We want some more senran kagura pleaseeeee. This is the first game that i played in this series but i see no upcoming sequels in the future. quite disappointed, but i still have other goodies.sequels to tide me over, Still fun to play in 2024!
it's good
good
i still dk why i play this many years ago.
I was here before the fall of Japanese games

I am become elderly Japanese man
The game has it's positives but overall i was bored and annoyed after 5 hours or so, and it took me multiple days to finish the game because of that.
The muh story, that everyone talks about, is too dragged on, text heavy, mundane and honestly a bit forced, it's decent, i guess, (by coom bait standards) with every character having a backstory/objectives and most of them interconnected with each other, that is the most interesting part about it.
But it's weird how every story has a different outcome on the same events, i guess it's impossible to know what is cannon and what isn't without playing the sequel.
I find very generic the formula, almost every character has a sad backstory with some personal stuff to overcome, it get's boring, predictable and very annoying sometimes, it follows a novel-like structure that i personally can't stand.
The game have 4 stories/campaigns with 5(4) chapters, one for each school, with the exact same structure.
Before and after every mission there's dialogue, with mostly mundane stuff that gets too dragged on, with some backstory here and there.
On the first campaing i was entertained while i was getting to know the characters and theirs personalities alongside with the game setting, and some interactions are funny.
The combat also kept me entertained in the beggining.
After that it started to become too repetitive, having 4 stories with mostly the same character interactions on all of them is a chore.
The combat is somewhat fun but too simple and button mashy, even by musou standards, the 3 styles of combat with every character is the most interesting thing about it.
The missions are very short, most of the game is basically a visual novel and the mission structure is horrible, 90% of the missions have a horde of enemies that are easily defeated, even on hard, followed by a boss fight, that are also very easy by spamming special attacks.
The game isn't completely coom bait, it has some merits, mostly the fun combat and some funny interactions, but overall i hate how most of the game is just a visual novel with some coom n slash in between.
Good old jiggle physics
Bouncy
I spent 2 hours customizing the anime girls
A fun game with more limited scope compared to the other games in the series due to its handheld root. There are clear texture issues and the controls are clunky. But this is easily forgiven due to the fun gameplay.
Just mash the attack to strip them down, lmao, great game.
The combat is awful, if you want a good game get burst renewal or estival versus... Also fuck Hibari, clunky ass pos character
Other than that... good tiddies and the story is very nice :D
