ARENA GODS® is Spectacle Combat, a top-down, arena fighting game where two to four gladiators compete to be the last one standing in an anything goes deathmatch spectacle.You are gladiator. Brave the arena and win the crowd to seize godhood!
Key Features
- Fight armed or unarmed, strike or throw, standing or on the ground.
- Every object can be picked up, wielded as a weapon, and thrown as a projectile.
- Projectiles can be deflected or caught in mid air.
- Most weapons kill in a single hit, but all can be disarmed.

Game is a lot of fun but there is ages old bugs that make the game unplayable sometimes.
Wish the game had more content as well.
the game is amazing when i first saw it back in 2018. since then there was no updates, no new maps, i believe devs just gave up on this project. i still have a fun seasion from time to time with my friends tho. one of cooler couch coop games out there.
I played this game years ago at Indiecade, and completely fell in love with it! So of course I bought it, and played the heck out of it with my friends. I'd reccomend this game, but only if it's on sale as I've run into a number of weird bugs over the years, like for some reason the resolution doesn't match my TV's resolution, so bits of the arena are cut off. And this game hasnt had a major update in a while, so there's a few loose ends in it but it's still fun!
No updates in months, the controllers cannot configure properly which makes it unplayable, and again...no updates or even a response in months, maybe even over a year at this point. Save your money from this scam.
Got this awhile ago, after seeing it at SXSW in Austin years ago. This is a FANTASTIC couch game with the buddies. I have never played it online, but I don't need to. I got this for the couch co-op, I don't really play any online multiplayer games anymore.
Haven't seen any substantial updates from the creators in awhile, so no clue if they are still working on it. Other than some weird bugs, I have no complaints.
The alpha is a lot better but this one is still good it just needs a little work. I would only recommend this as a party game, if you are looking for a single player game this isn't it chief. If you do buy this to play with friends its a fun game. I think it has good potential but its not quite there yet...
Ab Fab! My kids and I had so much fun stabbing and slashing. Which paradoxically their mom is ok with as long as no projectiles are propelled by gunpowder.
The mechanics are very nice, and the gameplay is fast and furious. More weapons, game modes, and maps PLEASE!!!!
Game is dead. It's got heaps of potential, but still rough, unfinished and lacking content. No updates in forever!
This game is 10/10, the funnest couch game I have ever played. Give it about 15 minutes to figure it out, once you do, it is hours and hours of fun!
This is fantastic to play with controllers together with friends! One of my favourite shared screen games! Worth it at full price, early access gameplay has next to no issues.
This game is so simple and yet so addictively fun it's unreal. Just load it up, either with a few mates or if you're an anti social asshole like me then bots are good too, have a few beers and let the fun begin! I'd recommend picking this little gem up. :)
A couple of thingsI'd like to see added are some more maps, a few more weapons and maybe female gladiators too.
Don't get me wrong, this game is definitely fun. But in current state it's not worth the money - needs way more diversity, otherwise it gets boring after few hours. I know it's in early access stage but there haven't been any significant updates (only minor bugfixes) since few months so I started to worry if devs are still interested in full release. I will change my review if they prove they are able to deliever what was promised.
I first played this game at PAX West in 2016. It was absolutely one of my favorite games of the whole con. A friend of mine and I played this for a solid half hour and got to talk with the devs as we played. Random people were coming up to the booth as well and as we all took turns playing rounds, you could hear the laughs a cheers thoughout the indie section. I had waited for this game to come out on steam and realized I missed it by a couple months. I am so glad I found it again and I am so excited to break it out when we have friends over at our place. Im glad someone is bringing back quality couch co-op games.
This game is the absolute hit of every game night that I host. If you have people over and enjoy competetive couch games, this is a must have. I was hosting game nights every other week for the last year or so with a group that has a very wide range of skill levels. This game provides enough chaos, chance and "wow" moments to allow for those with less skill to have a great time, while also allowing those with skill to execute eye popping moves.
The Dev, Mark, is a great person. I've talked to him at PAX East a couple of times and he has always been quite open about the aspirations for the game and what corrections he has wanted to make with the game. He has followed through. We had relied on the pre-alpha version for our game nights for a long time and everyone has been thrilled with the update.
There's definitely still a couple things that can be tweeked, but updates seem to be pretty regular and make noticeable changes. I cannot recommend this game enough.
While enjoyable, this game is rough around the edges. I'm shocked because it has been in development for years and I would have thought that the game would either have been released in 2015 with some bugs or emerge in 2017 highly polished. Fortunately, it is still really fun to play.
I noticed that the developer recently added a feature where the camera zooms and pans during the death kill. I really do not like this feature, and would love a way to turn it off.
With all of that said, if you are looking for a good local arena battle game, Arena Gods is a lot of fun. I really hope the developer continues to improve the game because it could greatly benefit from some refinements.
I was fortunate enough to be a part of the beta testing in this game and it is a blast! Played it for the first time since release last night with a friend and we had so much fun. It's definitely stressful with how much is going on as well as the fast pace of the game, but it adds up to a lot of fun. This is recommended for anyone looking for a good time with some friends as well as ruin friendships. Also the single player that has been implemented so far is alright with the bots, but the bots could use some work as the continues to be updated.
Played this game in Alpha, in Beta at PAX, in Open Beta on Steam, and I bought it as soon as it came out.
It's been an instant classic, and brings back the sorely-missed 'couch game' - I've spent hours playing this with my friends!
Can't wait to see where this game goes next.
EDIT: It went nowhere. I'm sorely disappointed in the lack of updates. In fact, when my friends and I play it, we play the Alpha version. I just want to be able to play the Beta version online. At this time, I can't recommend buying the game.
I first played this 4 years ago, and begged for a copy to show my friends.
I played it again 2 years after, and begged again.
I finally just got a beta, and played an hour with my roomates.
We'll probably get a noise complaint.
Worth it. So good.
This game is simple - it doesn't try to do more than it should, but what it does, it does very well.
The mechanics are smooth.
It's one of those games where you get just good enough to beat your buds, then that forces them to get just a bit better to beat you, and before you know it you have an eSports league running nights in your basement.

The gameplay is solid and the presentation is great, but that's it for now. There are many bugs, the keyboard controls are borked and the UI/menus are much too lacking. As well as this there's no form of online connection.
However, this game has a lot of promise with it being in early access. I hope that it flourishes and fixes its issues and quickly adds more content soon. Definitely give this game a try with a friend or two, but be wary if alone.
This game is buggy but super fun, been playing since pre-alpha! Lacks a lot of important features like selecting the selecting helmets/colors/maps but that's to be expected I guess for an early access title on the first day of release. Despite all of its missing features it is still an extremely fun and addicting game to play with some friends. I am excited to see what the developers have in store!
