Brilliant little game. Dry wit abounds. Superb voice acting, sure to get an award. Thoroughly enojyed it. Thanks for building it. Lovely way to spend a half hour. Sure it took more than that to make a several weeks. Really enjoyed it.
I played my first playthrough, delibrately going slow and standing around listening to the narrator plead with me to do things, and I finished in about an hour. It took me another half hour or so to do another one and a half runs of it to get all achievements. You can get 90% of the dialogue and entertainment in about a single, twenty minute playthrough.
If you played The Stanley Parable and liked it even a little bit, then you should give this a try.
The gist of the story is that you are behind the scenes of a the single player game "Dr. Langeskov, The Tiger, and The Terribly Cursed Emerald: A Whirlwind Heist" and since somebody else is playing it, you can't. Instead, the unseen narrator guides/tells you want to do and when, because most of the workforce has gone out on strike because of reasons. For example, he tells you "turn the knob to activate the rain", and you can sit there and wait for however long you want to turn the knob, while he pleads with you. You can also find other levers and buttons to push to mess with things (though the story progresses regardless).
It's a nice way to spend an hour, and wouldn't mind spending a couple of bucks for it, but since it's free, there is literally no reason not to play it. There is no replayability with this game, but that was the same with The Stanley Parable, once you've seen and done all the options, that's all there is to the game. Same thing here, but even moreso. "It's not the destination, but the journey" but taken to the extreme, the journey can be completed in 10 minutes and the destination actually made me chuckle the first time I played it.

The graphical options could be better (only four options from poor -> best, with a unity launcher with resolution options), but I had no problem running it at a locked 60fps at 1440p with SLI 980s. Probably not the hardest thing to run, even though it looks really good. It also helps that there isn't a lot shown at once, and you're locked in a room, so heavy optimizations can be done on the developer's end. Though, at one point there is an open flame and fire shown, and that stood out as being drastically lower quality. Other than that isolated instance, I was not disappointed with the visuals. There is a bunch to look at, boxes, posters, and papers all had really high resolution textures and could be looked at up close to read about the game that you're backstage from. There's a lot of information in the scattered papers and beta review sheets laying around that give you an actually fairly high detailed view of what is going on in the game that you're not playing. (though, granted, you can choose to ignore all that and play the 'behind the game'-game instead).
TLDR; Don't ignore this game because it's free, thinking it's low quality trash, nor brush it off because it's trying and failing to be a The Stanley Parable-clone. It's well made, with a great sense of humor and a great narrator, just like The Stanley Parable.
A darkly hilarious comedy about a game you never get to play. Almost as much a walking simulator as a point-and-click adventure, Dr. Lageskov takes you (literally) on a backstage tour of game development, with top-notch voice acting and a surprising and engaging script with humour quite reminiscent of Portal 2. Would be worth paying for, but it's free! And short! And funny! Would search every nook and cranny again (and did... several times... stupid pretzels).
A pleasant game on 30 minutes by author The Stanley Parable. Lovely voice over and a lot of interactive parts.

This is very much like a short and free version of The Stanley Parable - same type of humor, sarcastically narrated story, and joke gameplay. The gameplay itself is very short, taking about 15-20 minutes, but getting all the achievements and finding all the secrets will take a fair bit longer and at least a couple (or more) playthroughs. The gameplay is a fair bit more linear than The Stanley Parable, as there is only one potential ending here which you will eventually reach regardless of what you do, but there is still a fair bit to interact with in your environment and several ways to defy and aggravate the narrator for a time.
I don't want to give too much detail here, as it really is so much better if you play it without knowing much, if anything, about what you're in for. That made it so much more fun and befuddling for me.
This was an amazing game, especially given the price. Be warned that it was a small-team effort, though, so you may encounter the occasional glitch. While entering the Orangery, for instance, the door closed while I was still in the doorway, clipping my avatar's foot, causing me to be stuck in the wall for a bit. Also, I had to play through the laser-hallway sequence even though I should have avoided that when I disabled the generator. Still, these are minor complaints for what was otherwise a short but very fun heist game. I enjoyed it so much that I played through it twice in succession, just to get a different ending.
Short, entertaining, and free. If you've not played "Dr. Langeskov" yet you really should. Who knew so many action thrills could be packed into 15 minutes? It takes longer to download than it does to play .. unless you replay a couple of times, which I strongly recommend. Like "The Stanley Parable" you'll have a slightly different experience the second time. Also like "The Stanley Parable" gameplay is limited to walking around and clicking on things as you obey (or disobey) the narrator. Again like "The Stanley Parable" it only bears so many repetitions before it starts to get monotonous. Obviously I haven't seen everything this game has to offer, because there are still a bunch of locked achievements - but after 3 or 4 times through, I'm done.
I would have spent as much as $4 on this and not felt ripped off.

Coming from the designer behind The Stanley Parable and a young developer team, this free little game with a needlessly long name carries a similar pattern of blatant absurdity. Due to the ridiculous amount of probable effort that I'd have to put while writing the whole completion of the title each time, I'll be referring to the game simply as Dr.Langeskov for the remainder of this review. Now that is settled, let me try doing this properly.
Following the example of The Stanley Parable, it is somewhat hard to write a review to a game that would be better played without knowing anything about it. So, if you'd like to enjoy the full experience, I'd highly recommend to stop reading and give it a try to see it for yourself. Since it already is a freeware, you won't have anything to lose rather than 15 minutes of your time.
Still here? Well then. You've asked for it. Since we've already downloaded the game, we must have intended to actually play it, right? There is one little problem though. As the game starts, we are very apologetically informed that they are unable to let us play since it is a single player game and there is already one person playing it. Apparently we have to wait for the other player to finish the game before trying it ourselves. But since the studio conditions are a bit below excellent - nope, of course there are no safety hazards! What is it you are thinking? - There is a shortage of employees in the whole place due to a recent strike. We are informed that it would all go quite swiftly if we were to help them simulate the game for the player inside. Reluctantly agreeing, we start following - or try to follow, at least - directions of the young director with a mousy voice and a British accent, who dreads that our every single action might end in a catastrophy.
As you can see, this short, 15 minute adventure is a complete parody of a developmental concept. There is no actual game here. Like that the cake was a lie, the game itself is a lie. The whole thing is a smart and somewhat enjoyable conceptual experiment that could invoke some appreciation. Certainly not a masterpiece - and not in the claim of being so anyway - and the humor isn't exceptional, but Dr. Lengeskov presents you a distraction and a smirk on your face for 15 minutes: a task well done. It might be noteworthy to mention that the expected gameplay is somewhat linear contrary to The Stanley Parable, carrying only one possible ending. The idea is to enjoy the environment, the concept and the reactions you are having around. Very much like any joke.
Throughout your playthrough, you might want to investigate the environment, since there are items around to collect for achievements. Achievements themselves are a bit buggy though. I recommend not using the steam overlay or sending the game to tray since it may block achievements from unlocking. If all else fails, verify cache and they should trigger the next time you are meeting their conditions.
Go ahead. I know that you are already curious. It is not the wittiest kid on the block, but it is here and it is free with certain creative value. Enjoy!

One of the best heist games I've ever played! The setting of the beautiful mansion and the lighting was amazing. The ambiance, was amazing too, with the creepy voices in the elevator setting the mood quite nicely!
Truly an experience to be remembered! 10/10!
This was the coolest heist game that wasn't Payday 2 I ever played. I had trouble at one point trying to do a non-lethal run in the game because the game glitched and the tiger kept eating the guards. The devs promptly patched it, of course, being as fast as they are. The knife animations are wicked cool, too, but the non-lethal takedowns have their share of badassery.
The grappling hook was a great addition, and I enjoyed scaling walls and throwing rocks from the roof to distract guards. The effects are amazing. 10/10 best free heist game ever made.

...but on the other hand, did I really WANT more Stanley Parable?
Did I really want another game about extreme defiance just to explore what would happen if I annoyed the narrator enough?
...because when you strip that mechanic down to the bare bones, then there's not much more that you can do with it, than what was already done with the Stanley Parable.
You can introduce lots of pixel hunting, I guess, and have the player hunt coins and pretzels and achievements, but... ...why?
Is that really fulfilling?

Honestly really fun to play. made me laugh more than a few times. I was expecting an actual indie heist game, but i should have know better, seeing as it was made the creators of the stanley parable. Over all 8/10 good humor, but i would like to see a sequal showing the actually GAME and not behind the scenes.
Awesomest sort-of walking simulator i`ve ever played.Really good voice acting and fun dialogue.You play as a "player" and not long after playing you will notice the fact that you`re not going to play for a while.The game`s main focus is you helping someone get trough the game you`re trying to play so you`re next.Some advice:Defenetly look out for silver/gold/bronze coins wich are scattered across the levels.They`re not necesary to get but you will certanlly feel better upon the game`s completion.Also the game has nothing to do with doctors, a heist or some cursed emrald altough i think its really freaking fun.Most players can do a "completitionist" run where they pick up all collectibles wich insludes all the coins and they will also click everything, or the "blast trough the game" run wich is pretty damn self-explanatory.
Brilliant. Especially Simon Amstell's nearly-manic voice acting. Definitely worth 15 minutes of your time. I would totally pay for a series of shorts this fun and funny.

Great to be back in this weird world, almost like when you see the opening of a new Wallace & Gromit episode, just so many details to study and a such a weird world. For some reason this game gets affected by my sim racing wheel so I had to play the entire game with the clutch and brake halfway pressed in to not stop spinning (brake axis) and moving back or forth (clutch).
I thought it was part of the game's opening... because, why not? The tiger is best to avoid by rolling, double right click, pump the brake and slam the clutch.
