This is addicting. But the good kind...I think...
Unto the Gods I call your name
The crucifixion of my brain
as I wait for you
Into the fields, I've lost my way
I've opened vains just for the day
as I wait for you
The thoughts that linger in my head
they cry out for the dead
as they wait for you
call my name, call my name
Into the Carnival of Souls
surrendered to the fight
they dance upon the edge
they dance upon the night
to wake up in the dark
and find they lost their way
their way back to the door
their way back to the light
I've opened doors, I've opened minds
I've opened yours a thousand times
as I wait for you
I've fought the battle from the start
I've opened sores inside my heart
it bleeds without remorse
The thoughts that linger in my head
they cry out for the dead
as they wait for you
call my name, call my name
Into the carnival of souls
surrendered to the fight
they dance upon the edge
they dance upon the night
to wake up in the dark
and find they lost their way
their way back to the door
their way back to the light
If you ignore the jank it's a supreme masterpiece.
nice, scripting easy to understand and modify. check mod from fajeth in gitlab for newer version
The Guild 2 fills a nice niche of game. It is relaxing with a good bit of intrigue and plotting. The goal of being the last Dynasty standing is still something I've working on but there is a good set of tutorial videos to help get you going on the basics.
The game is buggy but as a older game it still feels very fun to play and some of the glitches don't actually affect the game play.
The (auto path) for units that stand around to do jobs is a bit annoying and requires a bit more micro management. The game play does take a while to get used to and the different maps each present their own options and challenges.
The political system is simple at first and becomes more complex as your town/village/city grows and more jobs become available.
I think with the guides available online and on youtube this game is worth a try.
Best simulator of 15th century's racketeer.
God I miss this game.
Setting up trade routes is finicky, which is core game play to avoid micro and scale.
Phenomenal combination of life sim and economic sim. Great game in a class of its own.
A newer better game like this is called "SAELIG" Check it out on steam amazing!
I had high hopes for the premise but found the UI did not support all of the busy work that the player was required to engage in. I played it for almost 4 hours before uninstalling it.
Horrible obtuse UI, game is unplayable.
It's unique. It's fun. I can get tedious if you're a perfectionist. My OCD wouldn't allow me to enjoy letting the AI control my properties. It can't do it was well as I can. But once you get beyond like 5 or 6 properties, micromanagement is impossible and not fun. I played about 10 hours before it became un-fun. Good concept. Get it on sale.
Fun game but it crashes a lot. In fairness I am running one Mod. Still It crashes about every third turn.
I really like this game but theirs simpely to many bugs
Love this game. Too bad The Guild III is lacking
👍
It is cheap and devalued because of how long ago it was released, but it is worth every penny you throw at it.
Mind the bugs and crashes and I recommend you install Fajeets mod that tries to fix up some of the problems. I have played it online several times with my gf, eventually the save will cause CTDs and become unplayable but it is still fun to spend a couple hours on a weekend's afternoon.
i will make 2 guildillion in profit
legit more buggy than cyberpunk first release
Great game but it is kind of dated, I would really like if they made a new The Guild game today.
The Guild 2 is one of my all time favorite games. I played it back in 2006, when it was first released, for days and weeks.
Many many hundreds of hours of joy and... yes pure hatred. Because The Guild 2 was, is and will always be very buggy.
But then Renaissance came along! It's The Guild 2 but better. Yes, it has some bugs too but it's manageable and I've never encountered really game breaking bugs.
The gameplay basically stays the same but with some good and entertaining additions. More items to make and trade, more workplaces, more maps, more politics, more of everything.
I especially like the addition of the matchlock pistol for use in combat. Somehow it gives you such a "badass" feeling when your opponent wields a sword around and you just take out your gun and shoot that idiot.
I have all the games on disc and played them for countless hours in the last decade or almost two now. And now I am at 90 hours on the steam version. So that's that. Don't let you scare away from a few bugs. It's really a lot of fun.
If you have some spare money, are interested in this (niche) genre and aren't frustrated too easily about some bugs, give it a shot. You'll not regret it.
The Guild 2 & Renaissance will always have a special place in my heart and game list.
This still surpasses The Guild III
Great concept, very fun at first. But the in-game automation is buggy and just plain dumb. After a while, the transport wagons will often just go in circles! lol This game is far far too bug-ridden to have ever been released to the public and sold. It feels like freeware that was written by high-school kids and never finished. At least I got it cheap. Go in with low expectations and enjoy what you can until the goofiness and crashes begin. Don't expect much.
Really fun game! I like building my family, business, and eventually empire. Working your way up through the generations is really fun and I like that you can adjust the pace of the game in case you want to get through certain parts a little quicker or need a bit longer to plan.
Too many game breaking bugs, not playable
