Описание

Project Druid is a game from the past. It was made according to the rules of lost and forgotten systems and games. A game without the fancy graphics and system from todays games. A game you can sit down for and just play and enjoy. It can be hard it can be easy , it all depends on yourself.

A labyrinth game based on the concept of the c64 game Druid. Simple graphics and simple game play which will keep you busy. A small but entertaining game. Find the keys and exit hidden in the labyrinths to proceed and try to stay alive while your playing. Old skool graphics and game play.

- Total of six levels of big labyrinths
- Bosses
- Monsters

NOTE : THIS IS NOT A TRIPLE A GAME - ITS JUST A SIMPLE CASUAL GAME -

The game was build from scratch with Game Maker Sudio over a period of two years. Most of the graphics were completly made from scratch and a few are from other sources.

Controls are WASD with mouse.

You will like or hate this game. I rather hope you will like it.

NOTE : Please comment on the game and game play. If you find bugs please report them through our website.

I couldn't find the menu button for this garbage. Don't even think about settings, controls or a tutorial.

A bizarre Turkish kusoge. It has screen tearing despite being an RPGMaker game. You die and respawn with infinite health. If you try to restart from the pause menu, you're kicked back to the first level. 90% of chests contain absolutely nothing, and the text displaying what you get from chests is placed in the middle layer, meaning it gets overlapped by certain tiles. Enemies walk into walls and spin so fast you'd think they were attempting to drill into the ground, and if you happen to get stuck against a wall due to their erratic behavior, it's very possible you'll zip through the level geometry entirely. I tried to experiment with this and boost my movement speed, but of course this game is so fundamentally broken that not even abusing glitches works in your favor. Actually, there were maybe ten instances during my 20 minutes with this game where my controls got messed up, and I actually began moving BACKWARDS, as though the druid was being pushed by a wind current. The only way to return to proper movement was to mash each directional input, and even then, that had a 50/50 chance to send me hurtling around the stage and lose progress.

Towards the end of the second level, there's a discolored tile on the floor which triggers a change in the music. For some reason, when I triggered it, three copies of the single track played over top of one another. Naturally, I kept hitting the tile again and again, and this caused the music to multiply so much that I ended up finishing the stage listening to an ambient noise track. I have never, ever had an issue like that occur in any game. It was glorious.

Besides the jank, there are two reasons I sincerely recommend trying this game out. For one thing, the instrumental music and level transitions add to this oddly comforting atmosphere. If nothing else, there was a lot of soul put into these two elements, even if for all I know they're just asset flips. The second reason I recommend this game is to draw attention to this being a remake of one of the very first hack 'n' slash games ever made. Druid was released for a bunch of home computers as something of a spiritual successor to Gauntlet, and even the Famicom had a port of it, so if nothing else it's interesting to see an attempt to modernize this classic, even if it fails miserably. Case in point, the druid sprite in the original moves diagonally, whereas in this he only moves in cardinal directions. Druid had two sequels released, one of which goes by Warlock, and in spite of their age they are significantly much more enjoyable to play than Project Druid. The company who made Druid, Electralyte Software, also went on to develop Cloud Kingdoms, another maze game with pinball mechanics built in.

So yeah, amateur game devs should look at this game as an example of what not to do when remaking a classic, but also it's a good idea to never mess up something as simple as being able to move your character. One day I'll finish this thing, because I have an odd appreciation for how bad it is, but as of now I'd say try this, refund it, and then go boot up an Amiga or C64 emulator and try out the real Druid games, because they actually work, unlike this.

There are games that people try to make good that turn out bad... and then there are cheap no effort games such as this. Project Druid - 2D Labyrinth Explorer may be one of the cheapest and worst games ever.

First of all, they throw you into the game with absolutely no directions on what to do, including the keys. Everything else is just random ghosts spawning and trying to block you. I could have designed this game myself in a relatively short period of time on GamerMaker Studio. There was little to no effort put into this game.

Overall, bad boring and cheap game.

TLDR: Obnoxious on purpose. Developper baits player into death traps. Extremely bland and low quality. Slow walk speed. Crooked aiming.

This game is bad in a different way, it feels like whoever made this didnt have the stomach to deal with the fact that they were incompetent, and rather than try and fail, decided to make an obnoxious game on purpose just for the purpose of bundle sales and trading cards. Lets examine the clues

1)Buggy - Dying and pressing continue made my character invincible
2)Extremely slow walk speed for no reason whatsoever
3)A bunch of empty or trapped chests to waste the player's time
4)Unimaginative mazes full of dead ends to waste your time more
5)Shooting mechanic has crooked aim

Are you fed up with this world? Do you need something to give you the final push to end your miserable existence?
You've come to the right place.

Lets simulate this games experience.
Take whatever amount of money this game costs right now, open your window, throw it out and wait for someone to pick it up. That right there is more enjoyable than playing this.

In case that wasn't convincing enough yet, have some hard facts that will hopefully save yourself from this.
- You try to move and randomly feel a gravitational force pulling you in a random direction
- You can get stuck on anything: trees, bushes, walls, thin air
- You might glitch all over the place trying to move when stuck
- You press Esc to end this nightmare: It only fixes you being stuck
- Enemies can kill you in a second
- Enemies constantly respawn, even right next to you
- Dying is the best way of winning: you either decide to quit or you become invincible by respawning with no health
- Open chests to find a key: 99% of chests are empty, explode in your face or refill your health
- If you are invincible because you died and get a chest that refills your health, you can die again

In need of visual feedback as to why you should not be spending money/time/effort on this? Look no further!

The only reasons you would still be thinking about buying and/or playing this are either that you are completely insane or you really hate someone and want to gift them this game.

I had hoped, when the game began with a paragraph of garbled English, that I would be in for a bit of unintentionally humorous gameplay. Unfortunately, the main character moves at a snail's pace (in contrast with his feet, which appear to be shuffling at somewhere in the neighborhood of the speed of sound), and the enemies consist entirely of Scooby Doo-style Halloween ghosts, each with their own bedsheet. I couldn't see the point of playing on past the five minute mark.
