I'm surprised to see so many negative reviews, this is by far one of my favorite Steam games! It's simple and easy to play, with a very nice pixel art style and mellow music that doesn't get annoying. There admittedly isn't too much depth given to your little painters or their clients, but personally I really enjoy coming up with elaborate stories for them all while I play. It can be a genuine struggle to keep up their finances and to keep things going while seeking out and training new painters, especially when trying to cover all the different art styles. The little random events add some spice (I will say they don't happen often enough or with enough consequence to truly add much difficulty) and if you know art history or the history of the available countries the various pop ups as the years go by are interesting and amusing! You can also hire famous artists to join your group after a while (Da Vinci for example), which is neat. Overall the game CAN lack depth, but when you get sucked into its gameplay loop it's addictive.
I think if you see this game on sale (averages around 1.99), I recommend snapping it up; for anyone who likes pixel art, art history, or simple management games this is a treat. I have no idea if the developer ever plans to make a sequel or similar game, but if they did I for one would be extremely interested to see expansion in this style and gameplay.
I have not played it for a long time but It is creative and realistic. Managing your painters is cool but taxes are hard in this game.
This is the cutest, most adorable management game ever. Made for art history nerds.
As a management game, it is quite robust: the mechanics are intuitive and very easy to understand, but the game is still pretty hard even for seasoned management game lovers.
The little art history jokes are amazing: even though it is a very small game, I keep finding stuff that make me laugh. For example, the city news! They give some historical context but the way they're written is so simple and silly, I absolutely love them.
This is one of my favourite games. I wish there were more to it, like scenarios, more characters, etc. Would also be nice if there were a way to win the game (as is, if I am not mistaken, it just keeps on going...). It is very expandable, and it could become one of the best management games out there with just a little bit of love!
