Not sure if the game is broken/abandoned at this point but many people have been complaining about bugged achievements, I earned 3 or 4 of them requirement wise and had no achievements pop. I noticed some of the other people recently that reviewed the game also haven't unlocked any achievements, I think this product is currently straight up broken.
That notwithstanding it's a boring, repetitious experience. There's no hero customization cosmetically other than changing colors, minigames/fights are very repetitive and become a slog. Some of these are too difficult and seemingly have a time limit for no real reason making you lose your progress. The story is really lame too and the graphics are pretty lazy. Don't even recommend on sale, shoddy broken game even though the match 3 gameplay isn't necessarily bad.

I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happineass of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

I played this game years ago on Big Fish Games (it may have been another site but that one is coming to my mind) and I enjoyed this back in the day. I randomly came across it on Steam. I bought it during the Winter Sale and for $1, the game is great. I wouldn’t have bought the game if it wasn’t on sale since I prefer other match 3 games for a higher price point and because this is an older game. The mini games can be repetitive but overall, it’s a fun way to pass the time.

THIS GAME IS STILL ALIVE?
Long ago it was a good game very funny. And it suddenly stopped working for everyone. Recently the error was fixed and the launcher worked again ( see discussion page). But it is not the same game, it was replaced with a very bad one.
The pictures in the store page are not even the right one, they are from the old version.
So you don't get what you see and what you pay for. How do you call this commercial practice ?

I don't think the original one will be available again or they would have put it instead of this garbage. So you can forget Spandex Force: Champion Rising. Too bad
port of a tablet game. has a fixed resolution that made the game unplayable for me because of slow-down. was a neat little game but inability to do simple things like change the resolution gives this one a pass. if it's ever updated to be an actual PC game and not a lazy tablet port, i'd recommend it. until then don't bother.
i refunded this game after being submitting a ticket about the resolution problems and getting a response that the resolution was fixed in this PC release. maybe you'll have better luck.

Was hoping for Puzzle Quest... instead, got extremely slow, casual game that didn't hold my interest at all. Might be OK for killing time, but just not great.
It's a pretty good "match 3" style game. It doesn't do anything that feels especially unique- collect coins to buy upgrades, play several different puzzle styles, advance through an admittedly silly story about becoming a Superhero. And it definitely feels like a game made for tablets. But what it does, it does well. And the game is really cheap even at full price.
The graphics are fine, though it is lacking resolution options (unless I'm missing something. If so I will edit this review).
I've played the game for a couple of hours now, and it's fun in small doses, but it gets a bit grindy. I think it's worth the price, though. I'm not sure if I'll grow bored with the game before I finish it, but we'll see.
TLDR; Spandex Force is a fun casual match 3 game at the right price, but be warned its main story does have a time limit.
Spandex Force is a match 3 game which you play a superhero in training, and you gain power and attack through a match 3 game type system. Its core gameplay is pretty interesting at times, but overall it doesn't require alot to play a few matches, and you can go off and do your own thing. The story is generic, but it has a few side minigames that provide some variety. While progression is slow (painfully sometimes if you are just trying to rush through) it has enough bells and whistles to sidetrack you from feeling like you are just grinding one scenario. Overall a fun game, but the main mission does have a 30 day in game time limit.
Pro's:
Match 3 with an upgrade system to vary how you play
Fun gameplay (if you like Match 3's)
Never really over/underpowered in the main storyline
Varied minigames/sidegames that break the monotany from time to time
Casual match 3 fun
Con's:
Upgrade system could use some tweaking
Can become really grindy in some aspects
The rock paper scissors aspect of your attacks never really come that far into play
Attacking enemies is slow, takes like 5 seconds each attack and it takes on average 6 attacks to kill a guy
Buy it if you are looking for a under $5 game to pass a few hours, it will give you that at a minimum.
*Final note: Dev seems to be pretty responsive on the forums, which is always really appreciated.
A fun little match 3 game that's hard to criticize for the low cost. Be warned, the background music sounds like Brittany Spears songs.
