One of the most Brutal games I've ever played. Probably one of the most horrific horror games out there. Otherwise, excellent story. Not sure why it has mixed reviews.
I wanted to like this game, but ultimately it's a buggy clunky puzzle game with a nice atmosphere, but ultimately the story payoff isn't worth the hassle.
Point and click adventure ... meh.
Fantastic dark, gritty, gory space point and click adventure. Reminds me of Planescape Torment in the best way.
Awesome sci-fi/horror adventure game.
We need more games with insane stories like this
I only got through this game with instructions from the net. Why? Because i suffered in attempts to understand what actually do i have to do and what parts i have to combine and what pixel i have to apply all these. However game design is pretty good and the story engrossed me in one moment. But the gameplay... maybe i just can't take this genre. I gonna make a positive grade due to that is not so bad, but you must know what you will face if you click on the game desktop shortcut.
This was a banger of a point-and-click, Sci-fi/ Horror game. The story, graphics and voice acting were all good. This is the third game from Indie Devs "The Brotherhood" ive played and enjoyed. Ill definitely be keeping an eye on their future games.
I don't have patience for obscure puzzle games with the "try everything with everything until something works" design philosophy.
Wow! What a brilliant and well thought out game. The puzzles were just difficult enough to be fun and satisfying. The aesthetic of the game was beautiful, reminiscent of Alien. The story was terrific, with a more in depth version available, the more PDFs and terminal logs you read. All in all, it was a deeply enjoyable 8 hours.
AMAZING ATMOSPHERE. Put on a good pair of headphones and let yourself be transported into a top notch sci-fi experience. The quality of the sound effects are as good as it gets. Think Star Wars. Like when a big door open you hear all the internal moving parts and the power source all operating in tandem. That quality and thoughtfulness is applied to nearly everything. There is a point where you use a computer with futuristic ads playing and the music, sounds and dialogue are oddly high quality, like you'd expect from ILM or Pixar. The voice acting is really amazing too. I really can't remember another game where the emotion of the character is imparted so authentically. The game is dripping with atmosphere. The puzzles are fairly typical from my limited experience with point and click. Sometimes i felt like something I had in the inventory could have gotten the job done but i needed sometimes else, These weren't a big deal for me. The only "bad" part of the game was a bloody plot twist at the end that I just didn't need in my life at that time but in retrospect grant that it makes this an epicly creepy sci-fi story overall. The kind you'd like to hear about if it actually happened but never experience. Highly recommended!
It absolutely punches above its weight in terms of story and atmosphere. It is an isometric point-and-click adventure game that takes elements of sci-fi horror and uses them to great effect. Some puzzles can be stereotypically obtuse, as with most adventure games, but I'd highly recommend it to horror game and adventure game fans.
A puzzle-based point & click with a grim sci-fi setting. The atmosphere and design is very good, and the story is decent (many similarities to Dead Space - it was a likely inspiration). For the cost and time, I would recommend this product for any fans of horror and the point & click genre.
I played Bone Totem before this, and loved it. It's unfortunate that I didn't play this back around the time it was released, as I'm sure I would appreciate it more. Bone Totem is a big step up in my opinion. If you can only play one, play that one. If you plan on playing both, play this one first.
I first played Stasis through in April 2022, and I recently came back to it because I remembered just how much I liked it. The storytelling is gripping, and the atmosphere pulls you right into its dark, eerie world. The isometric perspective may be a bit awkward at times, but it adds a unique feel that works perfectly with the sci-fi horror theme. I highly recommend this game to any sci-fi horror fans—it’s compelling, unsettling, and an experience worth having.
dead space point and click and i love it :)
12 click click/10
It's rare for a game to have exactly one redeeming feature, and for STASIS it's the environmental design. Everything else is really not great, and it's inconsistent as well. There's this terrible-looking blood splatter FX that's used a lot and all it does is to just make the game look.. Cheap. Voice acting isn't great, and the story is just... I dunno, it's whatever. The main character is the only good voice actor, and even then the direction in the latter quarter of the game feels so off.
If you're an achievement hunter, you'll have to sit through about a dozen scenes depicting lethal self-harm which uuhhhh.. no thanks. It's so needless and clearly just trying to be edgy.
There's also some pretty egregious pixel hunting and a couple of spots where you need to stand in a specific part of the screen to progress. I followed a walkthrough shamelessly after the first 40-something minutes because its just. obtuse.
It's giving "Weyland-Yutani presents: Sanitarium"
game was too slow and boring for me.
Hey, I wonder what happens if I fail this minigam-
A little bit clunky when it comes to visuals, but a great game non the less. It has grim, interesting sci-fi story and good "puzzles". Clearly a passion project, worth of recommendation.
Great story line and pacing. I enjoyed it!
The setting of the game is what makes it worth playing, the willingness to lean into the premise and not soften the blows. I enjoyed the writing of the survivors, too, it felt very human.
Not great. Simple puzzles that mostly involve a lot of searching the environment for items that often don't interact when you first click on them, and quite a lot of pixel hunting. The controls are quire rudimentary. It's more of a point and click puzzle game with a lot of tedious slow walk/running from point to point with a few poor quality text or voice acted speech bubbles which you can't interact with rather than an isometric adventure game. You mostly just run through the story and complete a lot of back and forth fetching missions to open doors and avoid barriers. Very unsatisfying, plus if you by the bundle steam won't give you a refund if you play more than 2 hours of even one of the games so I've got all the others now at a cost of £35 and will never play them! Don't waste your money.
+ Great Atmosphere
+ Great Style
/ Some puzzles are kind of hard since they require finding some items on the scenario which could be kind of hidden to plain sight, this can be sometimes frustrating
/ Most of the story is great but at least for me, the final part is not as compeling as the beggining, it has a fanfic-taste, but the building of the universe is quite interesting
Pros: Gross body horror, cool art design, runs on anything--including a toaster Mac. Played this over a weekend at my parents'.
Cons:
1. Technical issues: sounds/music not playing or mistimed, hitting the number 1(?) in the opening sequence catapulted me to middle of game then softlocked, excessive loading screens (though most are hidden).
2. Story is meh. Aside from the gross/unique body horror and art direction, the actual writing is just "ok". Nothing super compelling or creative here.
3. Moon logic. Puzzles can have weird or baffling solutions, with few mechanics for helping you out. Item descriptions that could provide context are either unhelpfully brief or absent. Frequently referred to a walkthrough, and found myself often saying "I would have never figured that out". This might be more of a gripe with the point-and-click puzzle genre more than this specific game, but still.
Overall, 3/10. I suppose if you like this genre of games, it could be fun to try, but not my cup of tea personally.
The story is the only thing keeping me from uninstalling the game. It’s a very compelling atmosphere and story, BUT the puzzles often don’t have logical solutions and can be overly convoluted to solve. The on screen information isn’t great often important items will get missed due to just not being able to tell that anything is even supposed to be there. I heard the sequel is better but wanted to try the first one out. I recommend using a guide if you want to get the story because the puzzles are just poorly designed.
great atmospheric sci-fi horror
some of the puzzles are pretty abstract so I used a guide
the audio mixing is also shit
I think this game is more a book than a game in terms of in-game reading material. I think they've overused this strategy to avoid spending money/time making animations or hiring more voice actors.
game mechanics are not well polished and sometimes puzzles are kinda... odd, but mostly it's not that hard for an adult to get things done. I had to get a glimpse of a walkthrough once because a part of the scenario I had to interact with was really unobvious. I'd recommend it but it's not the best horror game. I think SOMA is way better. The ending is nice, thoug. I'm an experienced gamer and i've nailed it on 12 hours, so if you know your way around this type of sami-fancy point and click adventure, you'll handle yourself well
mark morgan and pre-rendered backgrounds
Played on steam deck and worked perfectly just had to increase text size in config tool.
Atmospheric sci-fi horror point and click, that is high quality and a story that really makes you think come the credits. Pure passion project and now one of my favourite developers. strong recommendation I loved every minute of my playtime.
"Without a family, man, alone in the world, trembles with the cold."
This had an incredibly dark and twisted atmosphere, topics of eugenics isn't the only thing that this game covers, especially with the side stories that the crew document on their PDA's. Top notch graphics and art direction (maybe not entirely animations), incredibly immersive (and very unsettling) sound design.
I loved to read through each individual group of scientists and piece together how they interacted together, a lot of the story is inside of the PDA's and Terminals that you find throughout the game. Pretty standard point and click stuff.
This, of course, comes with it's downsides. It's a point and click adventure, which involves some very clever puzzles (by far one of my favourites had to be the Stasis Vat, it was fun piecing together the correct mixture. There were some puzzles, however, that I've spent much longer on. Hive Queen Stinger.
The darkness of the environments makes it difficult to orient yourself and spot items that you can interact with, sometimes I realised that I could go to another area only after wandering around confused. The isometric view doesn't help in some places where it isn't clear that there is a path.
Over all, definitely recommend the experience!
overall sci-fi horror atmosphere is fine but gameplay, writing and puzzles are very poorly done
Bone Totem is much better in every way
The game looks good, and the VAs were alright, but the overall game design, and especially writing, were extremely poor. After Act 1 things just kind of fall apart. The puzzles are not telegraphed well, and I encountered constant visual/sound glitches. I would be willing to forgive that for a good story, but this was not one. I'd argue it was actively bad, especially as 90% of it is delivered through tedious PDAs lying around the map. Not good for a game that is primarily going to be driven by story!
Some things were kind of fun here and there, but the story is incredibly rote and doesn't have much to say. It's also incredibly over-dramatic to the point of (near) comedy, despite attempting to tackle serious subject matter like eugenics. Every character is either a cartoon villain or a stock sitcom stereotype. As a cherry on top, every female character's stereotype is b**** or s*** (or a fridged wife). By the end of Act 3, I was just clicking through the game to say I completed it, not out of any interest in the characters or story.
I'm no stranger to bad writing or bad horror, and often can find something to love in it, but I could just not find anything here to redeem it. I can't honestly recommend anyone play it despite enjoying the first act. I hardly ever write reviews, but this game frustrated me enough to be an exception, and not in the fun puzzle way.
В игре крутая атмосфера, персонажи и сюжет, но совершенно непроходимый геймплей. Играть только по гайду или смотреть на Ютубе.
Reminded me why i do not like puzzles with pixel hunting. Instead i prefer to watch a movie with similar theme.
Stasis is a good point and click game. Puzzles can be a bit out there but no major pixel hunting.
Art direction is amazing, if you like horror style art then you will like Stasis.
Voice overs are hit or miss but most of the sound design is great, even if some sounds are out of left field.
Good story, nothing groundbreaking but I enjoy "Messed up corporation" stories, and the notes found are fun to read.
Game is 3-5 hours long, I left my game running on accident so the time is bloated.
story 8/10
graphics & art design 9/10
sound 6/10
immersion 10/10
length 5/10
overall 7/10
Игры похожие на STASIS
