Campy fun. You get to build your own super villain lair, research fiendish devices, and carry out missions in the world. The game is older so sometimes the interface feels a bit clunky (selecting troops under traps is difficult). I got hung up on building my rocket parts for my doomsday device for a while (required right-clicking on the stone tiles of the map, instead of right clicking the room you want to build in - unlike everything else you build in the game). Sometimes I was wishing for a "speed up time" button as plotting on the world map, or recruiting the troops you needed, took 5+ minutes. Still a fun game.
Starts out intriguing as you're constantly gaining new items to build. However the main plot devolves into a crawl as there's no speed up button and you're constantly getting pounded by the super agents, that you can't kill but only imprison, only for them to break out and reappear again. I found the entire latter half of the campaign to be utter agony, but the sense of accomplishment over eliminating that James Bond and his buddies in the endgame made it feel like all that suffering paid off. The biggest downfall of the game is the stiff building system, that doesn't let you edit rooms, so if you want to downsize a room you can only do it by demolishing and building it again. Someone who's planning on trying this should download that mod that prevents super agents from permanently killing your super baddies, because babysitting your goons or juggling the agents between interrogations was the worst aspect of this game. A lot of the potential of this game feels wasted by bad gameplay decisions, but it's still fun to design and redesign your base and try out all the new items you get from research.

Yea game is good but 2 is better
Enjoyable old game, got into it again because of nostalgia. It's uniquely hands off for an old RTS game. There are still active aspects you'll pay attention to, but it feels more like a managerial game than an RTS most of the time.
It's groovy to be evil, baby!
I found this game to be loads of fun plus it has lots of good humor.
