Fun game but towards the end the game starts to use more "gotcha" moments where the player is going to die at least once each level if they haven't played before. personally not a fan of that but I still loved the game. Very unique concept.
Dark Echo is a simple game executed simply well. When you make sound, lines show where that sound goes, and you use that to find your way around dark rooms. Making noise can attract monsters, and you have to use the sound you make to lure them, since much like you, they are blind.
There are 40 levels that each expand on this simple mechanic, and it's more than fairly priced for what you get. Very solid little game.
There are also light echoes of all 40 levels that are more difficult to navigate around, and are also more difficult on your eyes, since the palette is inverted from a pleasing, easy black, to a blinding white, and I had to turn my monitor's brightness to 0 to comfortably play these echoes of levels. While I appreciate the effort to add more content with these extra versions of levels, I feel like the game is already fairly priced for how simple the game is, and the addition of light echoes kinda makes it feel padded, and unnecessary.
I completed 13 out of 80 levels and I think the game is boring.
