What is Break_In?
Break_In is a base-building/FPS game where the main aim is to amass the largest amount of money you can, and invest it in defenses, traps, and other security measures to protect the rest of your stash. To do this, you will raid other players' bases and steal directly from their account.
- Build up the defenses on your own safe house to deter other players.
- Attack other players' safe houses and try to make it past their defenses.
- Progress through different types of safe house as you make more and more money.
- Upgrade your own abilities, skills and weapons as you make money.
- No subscription fees, no pay to win, no microtransactions.
Key Features
Although it is very early days, I have a lot of ideas for where I want to go with Break_In. You can expect regular updates on this!
Dynamic
The main strength of Break_In comes from the customization. With a range of bases to take down, and the variety of defenses available for each base, you will very rarely have the same experience twice. Player A may have a handful of badly equipped thugs, while Player B could have highly trained guards, lasers, cameras, and even traps. Every experience will be different and keep you on your toes.
Progression
With Break_In you will start out with next to nothing, just a tiny shack of a safe house and your pistol. You will need to break into other players' bases to take their cash. You will then be able to use this cash to upgrade your own safe house, buy a new safe house, install security measures, hire security, buy new weapons, and much more. And when someone does attempt to break into your safe house, and falls victim to your well positioned camera and backup squad, you'll be notified and receive a percentage of their cash.
No pay2win, no microtransactions, no subscriptions or additional costs.
Goes without saying, really. I have zero intention for Break_In to go this way. Obviously I won't rule out future expansions, but I can promise right now that if the day comes when this project is ready for expansion, it will be sensibly priced and provide a lot of content.

Yeah, decided to take a peak, see if anything had been done with it.
Dev ditched it, stay away.
im not sure if this is a bug but it just keeps connecting. can someone help me fix this
This game is actually very fun, there isnt a massive amount of players at the moment so there is always good competition to be in the most wanted list. There isnt loads to do in the game at the moment but the developer is very active so i have high hopes for this games future. I definatly recommend it.
Love the concept of this one, but the game is pretty broken as it stands.
What this game needs:
- Better guard AI (they react better and can see dead bodies)
- Ways to dispose of said dead bodies to avoid detection
- Ways to avoid/disable cameras (seriously, way too overpowered)
- No silly infinite spawning backup due to said cameras
- Ability to design your own base right down to each and every room
- More base types
- More weapons
- More gadgets
- More enemy/defence types
As it is, the game does need a lot of work. However I see how it could become something pretty special. Keep it up, developer. :)
Still a buggy piece of shit, and still cant upgrade anything, idea is good tho.
seemed cool idea when it came out.
updated like only once during the whole early access.
dead. not being worked on. seems like cashgrab now.
The idea behind this game is great.
Has the gameplay of "Payday 2" (at least the stealth part) and The concept of "The Mighty Quest For Epic Loot".
This game is entirely PvE, you will not fight with others players DIRECTLY. You fight verus the things in their safehouse and everything in it (guards, cameras, fences).
You gather money to get better equipment (or a safehouse) to gather more money. But while doing that you also need to think of a good defense for your own safehouse, so other players dont steal too much money from you.
The developer works on this game alone (I think?) and because of that the game is developing very slowly.
If you think this game has potential, buy it and support the developer. (And make a positive review, so more people see this game >:( ) Mabye he will hire more people to help him make this wonderful game.
In my opinion all this game needs is a review from a youtuber with 25.000-100.000+ subscribers and it will blossom.
Dis game is 10 danks out of 10 dunks
The idea behind this game is quite an original one and I back the developer as much as possible. Sadly the game is dead.
This is a good, early access, game.
The idea to defend your own base and than go to rob in the other players base is really cool.
With the last patch it's possible to better choose and customize the defense and, I think, this is just the begin.
ok first off cant invert my mouse through any kind of menu, This is not good, 2nd it would be nice for windowd users to have the mouse lock to the active program but NO, i use 2 monitors and well if i aim to far or too much to the right my courser leave the game and when i click my mouse i switch to my browser, i know theres an option to lock your mouse to the game for FPS style games just not sure why you have not added it to your game? these 2 things are why im getitng my money back im sure when you finish your game at lest get the basics in for input comstimication LIKE mouse inversion then i might try it again but as it satnds nice try kid you only forgot the basics....
I saw this game on a video and I was like, I must have this! So I bought it played it a bit then got bored. Then Today I was looking through my desktop and saw this game so decided to check up on it. To my surprise nothing has happened since! I've had this game for about a year now. And no changes have happened. I loved the concept and Idea behind this game. However, because the developer seems to have given up, I would not recommend buying this game in it's current state.
The developer has not updated this game in about 6 months and this game appears to have been abandoned. The game itself so far is pretty dull and gets old really quick. I do not recommend this game.
UPDATE:
The developer is back on track and as long as development continues I can recommend this game. The overall idea is great, and I really like some of the changes that are happening as far as being able to customize where you place things. If I were the one reading this I would maybe wait a little bit, and if progress continues get this game.
[LATEST EDIT]
UPDATE 4/24/17
So, now that I'm editing this review again, ultimately this game isn't worth it. Developer gave a false promise to keep updating the game, well, the false promise was... well, false. Don't buy at all, this is an abandoned game.
=====================================================================
UPDATE 3/24/16
CK has announced that today, he will be back on working on this game, but my hopes are far, far from high. There's been a lot of drama on the forums (and lack of consistent posting in said forums, mind you), that it seems that CK can't really take criticism all that well. I've seen a user, named Yandere Snake, write an ironic review about the game. Now, ironic reviews are not the best thing in the world when it comes to game criticism, I'll admit that much, but there's some pieces that CK could've taken from it. Now, you think the developer would be the more mature person in an argument like this, however, CK decided to make his profile private after the whole fiasco, and lock Yandere Snake's thread talking about when the next update is. Oh, he also probably locked it also due to the fact he's playing Final Fantasy a lot.
Honestly, I don't think I can trust a developer who can't take criticism like this. If you've heard of Garry's Incident: Day One, this is basically it. The devs could not take the criticism and censored the community's reviews, videos, and the like. They didn't improve themselves off it, but rather censor and claim that they're still great. It's a shame.
I have a bit of hope that maybe CK might change his ways, but I honestly would not bet on it.
UPDATE 3/25/16
Recently, I have been invited to a test group with the developer, so it seems like he's kicking into gear. Also, he's been giving a couple of the users in the community some communication about what's going on. Although, I'll have to leave this review as negative until I see the update.
UPDATE 4/30/16
Word straight from the horse's mouth, the update was supposed to drop around this month, considering when I asked CK0101, he kept telling me that he's planning to drop it a day closely to when I was asking, but in fact, I haven't seen this happen. I've asked about two times now and gotten that response, but the third time I asked, I didn't get any response at all. I have no idea what he's doing with the game, but whether or not he's actively or actually working on it, if a dev can't give a solid release date for their next update, they shouldn't give one at all. This is, of course, neverminding the break of communication and updates.
UPDATE 9/20/16
Oh boy, it's been a looong time. I feel like my allergies are acting up just dusting this review off. The playerbase has been dead recently, which I find that not really surprising, but a good thing is, CK is now updating on his game. He finally managed to get through the hurdle he was facing with this update, and is now planning to update for the rest of the week 9/19 - 9/24. I'm excited for the new potential, but at this stage, I can only reccomend this game to people if you enjoy Early Access and want to help kickstart the playerbase. Don't get me wrong, the game's a bit fun, the update's improving that, but this is an early stage of development.
I liked the idea behind this game. The developer, from what I know is/was trying to make this game solo (or close to it). it hasn't really devloped much at all since I've bought it and as things stand, this isn't really a properly functioning game.
Because I gave this game a fair chance over time, I don't qualify for my money back but I wouold warn others into staying away from this one. It sells for 10 Euro as an early access project but it isn't even worth 1 Euro for me.
To the dev, sry for the bad review but this isn't a product. Join or acquire a team and then come back at us.
Solid No from me. 1/10
very early release (v.07 as of this review) so there isn't a lot of content, but this seriously has something great going for it. don't buy this if you're looking for hours and hours of gameplay.
This game is not all it is cracked up to be and it does not have a lot of content and is not very fun to play.
If you have ever played The Castle Doctrine then that is essentially what this game is, but in a 3D FPS with a neat store system. I really enjoy the amount of ideas being put into the game, from land mines to hiring backup units. I just hope that this game gets what it deserves and doesnt become stale or deserted...Early access can be like that. The good thing is though, is that this game seems like it will hold its own and grow into something quite addicting and frustrating (The castle doctrine had periods in development where builders were able to make unbreakable bases, but this game seems to streamline the building and make it less "do what ever you want" and does more a "you have these options, mix n match!". This game feels very much like the love child of PayDay 2 and The Castle Doctrine by Jason Rohrer.
Also for the hour I played I had a good time cracking safes, shooting derpy ai (that loudly exclaim semi-disappointedly "Theres someone here...") and standing at a PC for 5 minutes to make 500 bucks.
7/10 - Will be Better with more patches. Hella fun even right now, worth the price.
So I have recently bought this game and please take into mind that these are my first impressions and will most probably change as the game develops. This review is as of the 0.05a update
So to make this review short this is a poor mans PayDay in the sense that you break into a place or a safe house in this case and can steal the money either by going in loud and making a lot of noise resulting in a special force of guards coming within 60-90 seconds depending what security the person you are robbing has hired. Maybe they dont have them at all.
So lets get onto the good things
-Nice audio. Everything sounds different depending if you are inside or outside
-Quite nice music
-Nice animations
-Stable FPS
-No game breaking glitches or bugs (I experience one but it wasn't that bad. It was just a minor set back.)
-Nice concept
Now lets go onto the bad things. Now this is a game in alpha so chances are there will be quite a lot of things that would be considered bad. These are things I personally don't find appealing or just don't like or some glitches bugs etc.
-Kind of crappy AI
-Knife isnt a one hit kill
-If backup is called its near impossible to make it out alive because they just keep coming
-Guards call for backup sometimes even though I just shot them in the head (Probably a bug/glitch)
-You don't get to choose where your defenses go (By this I mean if I wanted to place something in a certain place I cant. You can only place them in locations that have been picked by the dev)
-You start off with a lot of money meaning that you can upgrade your safe house pretty much to the max possible.
-Lack of tutorial in general. (It would be great if the game started you off by teaching you how to play and what to do, there should be some tutorial bases that you can rob and then use the money from it to start you off instead of starting with so much money.)
-Small amount of bases. (there is a small amount of bases that you can have and the layout is the same meaning if you play the game enough you will remember everything. Especially that the bases are quite small.)
-You cant design your own base.(so this kind of ties into the whole you cant choose where everything goes. It would be amazing if I could pick some rooms and place them however I want and then buy some cameras and place them where I want. It would be amazing if I could create the greatest safe house there is then test it out and if I can steal from it I should be able to set it as my safe house for others to try to break into. This would add replayability and add more variation to the game.)
-Cant open a Menu while trying to rob someone. (this seems like a big one because I cant turn down the music or sound or do whatever a menu should do.)
Overall the game isnt terrible. I wouldn't recommend buying it right now if you are expecting an amazing base building and robbery game. But if you want to support an indie game developer and make this game better I would totally recommend. It is definitely worth a buy if you have some cash to spare like I did and if you want a game that will help kill some time. I most probably just scratched the surface of this game and will be coming back to it but these are my initial thoughts. I will make sure to update this every couple of patches or so.
This is one of the better early access games you will find!
I purchased this game because the unique concept really caught my attention. There is so much potential with this game to become a very big title later down the road.
As of writing this review, the game is still in early access so please keep that in mind before you purchase it. Yes, there are some bugs that still need to be worked out, but if you want to support the development of a promising game, then I cannot reccomend anything better than Break_In.
Pros -
• Stable Gameplay
• No Lag/Framerate Dips
• Very Community Minded Dev Team
• Amazing Game Concept
• Hours of adrenaline pumping gameplay.
Cons -
• Aside from a few early access bugs, nothing major.
*Pro Tip*
I highly reccomend starting out by buying the Silenced Pistol as it will make your theaving life much easier!
Break_in review....
Break_in is a game in which you earn money by raiding other players bases and stealing their cash, Whilst dodging the security (If they have any). Its like clash of clans in a way. You earn money by doing so then you can purchase different safe houses, Weapons, Security and equiptment. This game has huge replayability and the sweet feeling of seeing your money go up from 0 to rich. The community is great with the devs who are very nice and reply within 1 minute.
Overall this game has huge potential and is very good for a game released 2 days ago. There are alot of new things coming so I would advise you to get it. £6.29 ? Bargain... overall i give this 10/10 one of the best games I've played
I like the game so far. Very refreshing gameplay that feels intense. The only thing that I would appreciate is just slighhttttttlyyy less expensive stuff, because if you accidentily get down to $1000 like I did before upgrading your ammo it is extremely difficult to get money again. Very fun and adrenaline fueled but very difficult.
9/10 Very refreshing.
