Flump Studios is an appropriate name.
I am 32 years old.
My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.
When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.
Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.
With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.
After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.
Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.
Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.
Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.
Thank you.
My recording shows I've been hit by phantom (invisible) bullets. I don't know if it's because of resolution shenanigans with existing bullets or whatever but it's very noticeable after a while and I can't even aim for a clear of the first loop that way. Unfortunate.

It was ok...
garbage. game isn't fun, I think has a slight input lag, doesn't stay in windowed mode, you just fucking explode randomly with no enemy or bullet in sight even though you supposedly have a small hitbox, which of course is awful for the survival mode where you only have one life, there's no clever design at all just random enemy spam and just overall the game's a sack of shit. I only have this game because of a bundle. I keep opening the game every now and then trying to give it a fair chance but no this is just stupid. this is bad. don't play this. go play void rains or fantasy of tempest or zeroranger or something, not this trash.
6/10
I like it.

TLDR: Ship fires in akward bursts. Tiny play area. Ugly engine. Derivative of Invaders but falls short.
This is a bundle filler shovelware grade title. The screen quickly becomes cluttered beyond what I consider to be playable. Ship sprites are large. Enemies fire the letter O in neon green and the like. The akward firing pattern of your ship just seems to start and stop at random. Enemies always come from the top making the ability to navigate through the screen rather pointless as it is always best to stick to the bottom.
Removing local content permanently and hiding from library for declutter. This genre has been heavily saturated and this is one of the poorer examples of it.
Ultimately a very simplistic and repetitive shmup that could use some more intentional wave/pattern design and really any features beyond bare bones shoot-em-up elements. Has the look and feel of a project that was probably very educational for the developer, but a few projects or a lot of revision away from something worth buying.
Pester
pros:
//modern day graphics
cons:
//static background/location never changes
//a lot of difficult battles
//losing is a grindfest (backtracking and all enemies respawn)
//sucks
Has a good and working menu, but gets old after 5 minutes.
Wonderful shmup, several different game modes and lots of personality. Reminds me of shmups on the SNES or NES, great game!
It's Fun. good selection of music and a cool scanline filter which i'm a sucker for :D
overall a good budget shmup
Hey everyone and this is my review about the game!
This is a bad spaceship game.
Interface/Menu/Settings
You can only change the music volume between 0-10.
You can't change the sound.
There are some Resolution sizes.
Pressing Q will change full screen or windowed mode.
You can toggle vibration :D.
You are able to play this game with a xbox controller.
About the game.
You play with a spaceship and you move to left or right and your job is to destroy the enemy ships on your path. You will find some powerups on your way which you could use. Killed enemies will give you a star for "hyper mode" which you can only activate when the bar is full. Once released you will hit basically every enemy in your way from every direction. I have to say that this game is very boring, poorly executed and replayablity isn't high too.
Has "manual" on the side of the screen.
Meh music.
bad graphics.
I don't get why someone would ever like this game at all.
Really low gameplay replayability.
No steam overlay?
Other things.
The sound from shooting is faster then the actual effects. So if you hold the shooting button you will eventually get annoyed from the sound.

I Give this game a 2/10
Having read that this was a remake of a very old game, and having played a lot of games as a kid on a Commodore 64, I was excited for a good bit of nostalgia. The C64 sported these amazing specs:
1 MHz CPU!
64 kB of RAM!
320x200 pixel 16-color monitor!
It was such an incredible machine back then, and just as incredible now, but for different reasons.
I got the retro feel I was looking for. It's a good remake, in the sense of improving the graphics. If anything, they should not be so good, if they were to really emulate the look of a C64 game. Do an image search. Top of the line gaming fun back then. It's also hard and fast, like the arcade games which followed.
1920x1080 resolution works just fine on my PC, in both full screen and windowed mode (Core 2 Duo, 8 GB RAM, AMD HD 5750, Win 7).
Pester is fun shmup throwback experience that falls somewhere between simple early game consoles and rage-quit hard arcade games. Best eight bits I've spent in a long time.
I play this when I'm bored and have money to spend.
It's a nightmare, I like it!
Very basic but challenging bullet hell arcade shoot em up. The graphics are somewhat poor but the gameplay is unforgiving. For the low price it is recommendable for genre fans
Blurry sprite scaling with "programmer art" assets, obvious sprite mismatches in the time attack mode, and a general feel of being a mediocre school project make me question why this game is on Steam. There are many better examples of SHMUPS, danmaku, bullet hell games; don't waste your time with this one.
Bought it for the cards, 3/10 would not recommend.
Edit: All in-game achievements done after ~90 minutes of play, and there's a hitbox bug in the asteroid mode too. Not much content to be found here.
--- WARNING: There is a large crashing bug in this game whenever you try to set the resolution to 1920x1080. You can change to other resolutions (though there are only 3 options), but getting to 1080p is impossible. I personally love this game, and love seeing it again for such a great price, and I will be recommending it, but please keep this in mind. ---
I am a fan of bullet hell games, and this gives a goold old style feel considering its of course a newer game. Techno-grumble style music makes it feel like an arcade game, and for $0.99 this is a huge deal and a fun time passer.
I would love to recommend this game with all of my heart, however there are crashing issues on launch, not to the point of unplayability, but trying to get into the levels can be a bit taxing.
