Cute game, cute character designs, lots of continues, touching storyline... this has everything! (Also Windia is best grl ^^)
Challenging, yet at the same very accessible to newcomers and those of moderate skill. As with most bullet hell, your first few runs will revolve around not dying, but one you become accustomed to the game, you can can delve into the scoring system, and that`s where the real addiction starts!

Disclaimer: My skill and experience in this genre is low.
Game: A great shooting game, and considered by many to be Cave's easiest one, so a good place to start. The era of Cave's pre-rendered CG sprite graphics technique (or whatever it is) was at its height around this time, so it's beautiful. It also has a Namiki soundtrack (though not my favorite one) which has a lot of iconic songs. My skill is too low to evaluate the gameplay well, but out of all the Cave games I've tried, this one seems I could actually 1cc if I spent some time on it (if only I could use my option to eat the damn rank 3 death bullets)...
Port: The consensus is that this is a decent port, in terms of input lag, slowdown, etc. There may be a lot of missing slowdown on the extra stages, but I am unsure if that is still the case. The Deathsmiles I & II port that is also on steam is considered more definitive in these regards, but it's also more expensive. Buy that one if you really love this game. You can get this one for a very good price in a bundle with two other excellent CV1000 Cave games, so it's stillworth it unless you are hard committing to Deathsmiles (or god forbid Deathsmiles II). The biggest issue is the training mode could use improvement (boss select, especially).

worst game ever
Probably my favourite of the CAVE Bullet hell games. Each character plays differently from one another and the levels have a great charm. Bosses are difficult and fun and the soundtrack is fantastic. This game is also more accessible than many of CAVES other games.
Fire
The great game for all players.
My absolute favorite horizontal scrolling shooter. Fantastic graphics, music, characters, stage designs, bullet patterns, and dopamine inducing game mechanics make this game an eternal classic. It is a game I can always come back to even since the Xbox 360 days. If you're a fan of shooters this game is a must play, and one of CAVE's best.
