Very well made strategic puzzle game series. I am enjoying all 3 games. Good mix of sokoban and match-3 type puzzles that are not timed.

Addictive ...

I am 32 years old.

My ex-wife and I have a daughter together, and we adopted our son together. Both are now 4 years old.

When we were going through our separation, I felt lost and unhappy. I was self-destructive. One day, I was so angry with everything spiraling out of control that I punched a concrete wall in a moment of overwhelming emotion. This resulted in breaking my fifth metacarpal in my right hand—the hand I worked with, played games with, and used to carry my children to bed—the hand I desperately needed to ensure I could continue providing.

Upon learning the severity of the self-inflicted damage, I became almost suicidal. Keep in mind that just a few months before this, I was the happiest man, with no history of depression or anxiety. I had never experienced anger outbursts, nor was I the type to break down and cry, but I was in a tough situation that truly prevented me from seeing the light on the other side.

With nothing better to do, I looked for a game I could play WITH ONE HAND while recovering. Somehow, I stumbled upon this game and read some of the comments. I decided it was worth a try... I must admit I didn't beat the game, nor did I play as much as some of you. In fact, I may have played this game for only a day or two. That being said, after doing so, I had a new joy and hope for life. I managed to leave behind the pain and suffering that had been thrust upon me. I could experience the joy and happiness of other people. I relaxed for 5 ♥♥♥♥ minutes listening to this music, long enough to realize that I would be okay.

After realizing this, I turned off the game and went back to work. My hand hurt a lot, but I was motivated. I stopped feeling so sorry for myself and became the father I needed to be at that moment, not the weak boy I was behaving like.

Today, I am close friends with the mother of my children. We don't fight, argue, or say hurtful things to each other. We are parents and friends.

Now I have 3 children. My third child is, wait, ALSO 4 YEARS OLD. The woman I am with was going through a very similar situation at the time of my separation, and we just unexpectedly stumbled into each other's lives. We have been dating for a year and are very happy together.

Moral of the story: you never know what life has in store for you, and if I had given up when all odds were against me, I wouldn't be where I am today. This silly little game helped me realize that.

Claws and Fathers is not a particularly deep game. It's an interesting mix between Sokoban, match-3 games, and seems to have been inspired by games like Angry Birds or Plants vs Zombies. While gameplay wise they are very different, I could easily see this game being a homage to Angry Birds and/or PvZ. The cut-scenes and story in particular remind me of those.

My first impression wasn't great and I didn't really see myself enjoying this game long term. However, it does have its nuances, and being turn based it gives plenty of time for thinking up strategies. Occasional levels will offer a timed bonus for completion, but these are not necessary to move on.

What it lacks in strategic depth it more than makes up for in charm and rich detail. Each type of colored bird has its own individual voice and sound effects. The drawings and animations are very cute and I find myself enjoying them more than I thought I would. It doesn't seem like such simple things as a struggling animation when you pick them up with the cursor could add so much flair and fun.

The replay value is a bit lacking for sure, and a game like this could quickly feel repetitive, but I can't think of a single thing to remedy that which hasn't already been done. They've made the experience as fun and engaging as possible. The shuffling, matching, and other sound effects are fantastic and satisfying.

Definitely a casual gaming experience if you like puzzlers or match 3 games, but a high quality one.

This game makes me think lol. I like how I can still progress through the levels even if I've "failed" each one (you can still go back to try again if you want). Cute graphics and the music is perfect background.

Some of the levels were very challenging, especially the timed ones. Fun!

I guess "Claws & Feathers" must be the quasi-Match-3 equivalent of "Dark Souls:" it's just too hard (for me). But, even the difficulty level might have been tolerable if they hadn't included timed puzzles. With those, the frustration level just gets to be too much to bear. And for icing, as they introduce mechanics into the game, they don't necessarily bother to explain them. Oh, it looks like they do. In a couple of cases, they'll put something up at the start of a level saying click here and drag something somewhere. But, that's an exception. In general, you have to hit the Help button to see a general description of things. But, it lacks detail. Again, if they had just left out the timed puzzles, I'd have probably been OK with the game. But, as it is, after 9.4 hour and 21 levels, I'm throwing my hands up in disgust and quitting. Not Recommended.

Fun. Takes more strategy then you would expect form this sort of game. I clap my hands when I finish a hard level with gold egg. Please add achievements to steam for this game and its sequel(trading cards too).

A fairly confusing attempt at a group-three puzzle game. The interactions are not at all intuitive, making the puzzles more tedious than fun. And who sides AGAINST cats in the Internet age?

This had me hooked. It might look cute, but some of the levels are quite challenging. Excellent little puzzle game.

I really enjoyed this game as a casual puzzler. The birds and cats were quite funny and we still ask "is that my coffee?".

I want to mention that the visuals in the game are nicely done. The visuals can be adjusted in the game's option menu.

I want to mention that audio for the game is well done. Even though the audio is somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The audio can be adjusted in the game's option menu as well.

Gameplay

There are no set game difficulty modes to choose from in this game. All the levels have their own set difficulty. Please do note that there is an option of replaying the same level over again. This option is given at the end of all levels.

This is a match 3 game, the objective is simple, you have to make matches of three or more tokens to clear them from the board. There are several different types of match 3 game styles: Swap; Chain and Group. The "Swap" style is where you switch two tokens either vertically or horizontally. The "Chain" style is where you link all like tokens going in any directions. Such as: Up to Down; Left to Right and Diagonally. The "Group" style is where you clear a bunch of similar tokens from the board in one move. The match 3 style in this game is a new one: Click n' Drop. But the strategy for the game remains the same. Match three or more to clear them from the board.

There are ten different achievements that can be unlocked from playing the game. Each of these achievements does come with some requirements that need to be completed before they can be unlocked. These are in-game achievements only.

Miscellaneous

There are five different trading cards to collect. The game only drops three of those trading cards. There are several ways to get the rest of the trading cards: Purchased from the Steam's Community Market; Trade with friends; Booster Packs; and its' Booster Pack Creator.

Final thoughts: I have found the game enjoyable to a certain extent. The replay value for the game is low. I would recommend this game, but not at the game's full price value.

I don't have much to add beyond what the other reviewers have already said. Just wanted to give this one more thumbs up because it really is a fun, well-made little game. Also the sequel is now available on Steam, so be sure to look for that as well, it is just as good as the first game!

Great game, gave me exactly the challenge I was after, and on top of that it's cute too and has good music/sound.

The timed levels are somewhat annoying, but all the more accomplishment when finally succeeded.

Buying this game is a waste of money and playing it is a waste of time, the second game is the same but it's good unlike this one.

More of a puzzle game that uses the match 3 idea to clear pieces. Move along empty ground to match up and remove birds of the same color or enemy cats (only two birds are required to remove a cat in the center). Free or find hidden keys which are then used to unlock chicks. Absurdly simple idea with more sophisticated rules thrown in as you progress. Great execution, cute humor, AND definitely worth the purchase.

I wasn't sure about this game, as there were not many reviews, but I am glad I bought it.
This is not a "match 3" game, it is a puzzle game, through and through. Each level seems lovingly crafted with a lot of thought going into the design, what one must do to solve the level will change from level to level, so playing it is always fresh.
I will not try to explain the mechanics of the game, as I am not a good enough writer to do it justice, I'll just say: I'm having fun with this one and find myself still thinking about it when I have to go back to my chores.

First impression: decent casual puzzle game with lots of levels.

It works a lot like Hexus: if you make empty moves that don't lead to a combination, some empty spaces turn into eggs and the existing eggs turn into birds, cluttering up the playing field (or providing welcome reinforcements). Some of the bonuses are timed. Since this is only a first impression and I haven't played it all that much, so obviously I don't know how difficult the game is going to get, but this being a casual game, I don't really expect more than medium difficulty.

The game delivers what you'd expect, no surprises, but it's not as outstanding as the 100% recommendations might lead you to believe. It runs in a window and works on older computers, too.

There's a sequel.

A pretty solid puzzle game in the match-3 vein, where the basic mechanics remain the same from level to level, but each stage can be a chain of puzzles to solve to get to the goal, or just board-control where you need to keep clear paths as new pieces spawn, or even "make a path to the one key to open the goal". It's varied and while it might use similar versions of an objective, they don't repeat and the boards are shaped around new experiences. If you want to go above and beyond the usual, every stage has a "golden egg" challenge to meet as well, and it kept this challenging even for my skills with the genre, especially by the end of the game.

Overall a fantastic title unless you've got some kind of revulsion to Looney Tunes "violence" (bombs turning cartoon animals to ash and eyeballs, etc) or the genre itself.

A super fun match 3 plus puzzle game! Very addicting. The birds are cute! The sound effects are funny.
The levels get more challenging as they get higher. There are only 56 levels though so I recommend buying on sale or with a coupon. There are 10 achievements in game with 3 levels to each of them.

This game is a beautiful puzzler game in the same realm of games as the ultra popular matching games like Bejeweled and Candy Crush.

The beauty of this game is that each new level throws a new objective at you with different rules such as beat the level within a certain taimeframe, or without matching so many red birds, or in under a certain amounf of moves, etc.

It also adds in humor and the whole 'cute' factor with birds, baby chicklets, and cats who are the natural hunters of the birds.

This game gets more challenging quick then both Bejeweled and Candy Crush however, and will definitely workout your wits.

A rare "must buy" rating in my video for any puzzle game fans who enjoy games such as Bejeweled and/or Candy Crush. The price (regular price $6.99 USD) is about half of what I would expect to pay for a game like this, which helped my decision to rate this very fun and addicting little game a "must buy".
