I'm reviewing every game I've played so far—let's talk about Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation. My first JRPG experience didn’t disappoint! With simple gameplay for beginners and a perfect blend of gaming and anime vibes, it’s a great entry point. Plus, Uni is just awesome!
if you like the previous game , you would also like this game.
this game has a heavy focus on the CPU candidates instead of the CPUs, so for the rest of the game, you would be playing as Nepgear along with Uni, and Rom and Ram
Its the same game as the previous one but now you have four units to control in the battle field
Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation is like a sugar rush for your brain! It's a colorful, chaotic, and utterly ridiculous RPG that will leave you chuckling, scratching your head, and wondering if you've accidentally stumbled into a fever dream.
This time around, we follow the adorable but slightly clueless Nepgear as she stumbles her way through a world of console wars and cute anime girls. The game's humor is as sharp as a butter knife, with plenty of fourth-wall-breaking antics and self-aware references that will tickle the funny bone of any gaming nerd.
The combat system is as simple as it is satisfying, with plenty of flashy special attacks and combo opportunities to keep you entertained. And let's not forget the character customization, which allows you to dress up your party members in a variety of silly outfits.
If you're looking for a game that's equal parts silly and strategic, Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth2: Sisters Generation is the perfect choice. Just be prepared to suspend your disbelief and embrace the absurdity.
I apparently didn't make one of these before so here it is.
hyperD 1was enoufh for me

yes
Same game as the last, same characters for the most part, and so many reused assets. I still like it though.
Peak
5/10. Gameplay is practically identical to the first game in that it's fun, albeit repetitive. However, the general atmosphere lacks the charm of it's predecessor, and the story is significantly worse compared to the first game. I have to mention the fanservice here. In a game where the main characters are 10 year old girls, this is just disturbing, and a reminder why anime gets a bad name.
This entry in the series follows the CPU's younger sisters, or CPU Candidates, and their efforts to rescue their sisters and save Gamindustri. You will learn everything in the text dump at the beginning of the game where so much has happened you'll think it's a preview of the end. However, it's not. For some reason, Re;Birth 2 takes place in an alternate universe to Re;Birth 1 (which is never mentioned), leaving the intro rushed, the player confused, and everything you learned in it's beloved predecessor invalid. The rest of the story follows the battle between ASIC (Piracy) and the CPUs (Game companies), but aside for 1 minute of dialogue never seriously considers both sides of the argument (Nintendo and older games, for example). Even the premise of the game, the CPUs being beaten by 1 person, doesn't have an explanation, this 1 person was more powerful than the gods for a few fights and then suddenly she wasn't? The Normal Ending too is mediocre with an absurdly easy final boss. That is to say, I did like some of the new characters, especially 5pb and Underling (though she's not given any sort of ending in the Normal Ending). Character development too is slightly better than in Re;Birth 1, with non-CPUs given decent screen time and relevance.
Customisation is still great, but gameplay is largely the same except for 4 player rather than 3 player parties. I appreciate the new enemy models, skins, and maps, but there are still a few reused maps. EXP seems to be better distributed here and I didn't grind anywhere near as much as Re;Birth 1, but I think I'm still fatigued from grinding in the first game. I preferred obtaining EXE skills here, and though I miss combo link it does balance some of the non-CPUs. Music is worse in this game, but the colour and charm is somewhat still there, though marred by the generally more serious narrative.
Good game but I liked the 1st one better.
Game doesnt work with a controller. Can't even fullscreen the game. I have a gigantic monitor and I can't even use it. Horrible game. Literally haven't been able to play a single second of it.
I will NEVER play through the Conquest Ending again!
I have ended up playing an ungodly amount of this game in my quest for 100% achievements.
If, like me, you are an incorrigible achievement hunter here is something you should know: it is possible to lock yourself out of one of the ending routes, to the point where you will have to start a new save file just for those endings. Plan accordingly, it'll save you a heap of time.
Apart from a few annoyances (visual novel segments not having a 'skip only read text' option, having to reset preferred equipment and commands for every character every time you new game +, repetitive boss screams, A and B buttons being swapped) I love this game.
The art and voice acting are great. The story and characters are full of fun anime tropes. Personally, I prefer Nepgear as a protagonist (sue me, Neptune fans). She's way less annoying.
The Conquest route is surprisingly dark, in a good way. I really wish I could have only skipped previously read text, so each new game cycle I could only focus on the new story content rather than wondering 'wait, have I seen this before?' or skipping accidentally through new stuff.
The plan system is pretty cool, I like how you can alter game mechanics. The only downside is that I had to use guides to find out where to farm certain items, because I couldn't remember which dungeon (and which version of that dungeon) had the drops. The in-game nepedia is somewhat useless for this, as it will only show the monsters for the currently active dungeon versions.
All in all, it's a fun game though.
This is probably my favorite Neptunia game, for many the same reasons it's many others favorite, and for one more.
TO say the least, this game is probably one of the most self-serious in the franchise, where the stakes of the situations are rarely undercut. Not to say the humor the franchise is famous for isn't here, but an important component of it is not present for about half the game: Neptune herself.
IMO, Nep being gone for a long portion of the game allows for more interesting and diverse character interactions, which is a huge plus to me, as someone who's seen a fair bit of the rest of the franchise.
A JRPG sequel with a surprisingly compelling and interesting story, introducing a new cast of lovable characters. The best story and set of endings in the franchise.
nepgear uooohhh so cute i hope shes the MC of another neptunia game that would be pretty cool huh
