Your name is Adam. You're searching for a job. You walk into a white room while a voice tells you to sit in the red chair. You really don't know anything but your name. So the room starts with the experiments. Are you left-handed or right-handed? Black or white? But things start to get weirder and weirder until you realize what's going on.
Everything is related to the red box.
That red little box.

thank god this game only takes around 10-15 minutes to complete so I can get a refund on this garbage
First of all, the sensitivity of the camera is insanely high and can't be changed and the controls r just weird all around with the cursor not resetting to the middle when the next scene plays or anything. Alongside that, it isn't exactly clear on how to select the options ur given as there's no prompts saying "E to interact" or in this games case "double click to select".
Secondly, the visuals of the game r simple and honestly the only good part of this game since I'm personally a fan of weird visuals and stuff, but that's all the praise that I can give this game. While the simple visuals are good, the simple writing of the game is awful. It's a good concept of a criminal being interrogated in the form of an interview, but the execution was done so poorly that it just made me roll my eyes at the plot twist, especially with the red little box being where Adam keeps his victims heads for some reason? Overall good concept, bad execution.
Thirdly, the choices not impacting the ending or anything at all, apart from the first 3 questions at the very start of the game giving u different dialogue, just makes the game feel super lazy and again makes me roll my eyes at the fact that I can't change my outcome or even find out why Adam killed ppl, especially his mother. It sucks even more that this game wasn't impacted by the choices bc some of the questions r questions that could be interesting for a choice dependant game.
Finally, the most obvious flaw with the game is the "relaxation" section of the game where videos of ppl being shot, corpses being dragged and just gore in general are exposed to the player with no prior warning or anything. Now, I'm not saying gore inside of a game is a terrible thing and should never be done, but when there's no warning whatsoever and is purely put in there for shock value, it's just lazy horror and honestly makes the game dev look like an edgelord. I'm unfortunately thankful that I'm pretty desensitised to gore, but even I can realise that u shouldn't stick gore in a game with no prior warning as that could potentially trigger or upset ppl. Even aside from that, if YouTuber's wanna play this game, they're gonna have to blur out a solid minute of game play bc the dev wanted to be edgy.
In conclusion, this game is shit and the morbid curiosity rly isn't worth it bc the game is just lazy, confusing, and graphic for the sake of shock value.
"The Interview" is an important game. Upon playing this title many a thought crossed my mind and it made me ponder what the game wanted me to witness. "Adam" or what the game chooses to call Adam, is coming in for an important interview, one that ergo, might change the course of his life. As the interview begins, strange visions of surreal landscapes with a red box dead in the center appear in his mind. The person or entity in charge of the interview tries to get "Adam" to relax to the best of their ability but is only fruitful for a short period of time.
As the game continues you may see things that some people would consider unpleasent, therefore. Real uncensored gore and surgery footage is shown to the player or "Adam" and the game may argue for its artistic purpose but I will have to call some doubt on that notion however, for reasons I will get to later in this review.
As to not drag out this review with needless recounts of the game's plot ergo, I will keep it brief and skip to the ending, where it is revealed to the player that "Adam" is a murderer. I would spoiler tag this but I think you would be doing yourself a favor by never playing this game. The "little red box" that appears throughout the game is what "Adam" chooses to store his victims in for a reason I am not sure of. It doesn't really make sense that "Adam" doesn't know this either with how the events of the game unfold.
This game tries to spin on its head the notion that this is a police interrogation and not an interview as it initially suggests but I have a hard time agreeing with that. This game likes to pick and choose what Adam is mentally stable enough to comprehend for "thematic" reasons but in actuality is just lazy plot work. It makes no attempt to tell the story in an interesting way and would rather attempt to shock the viewer, but the only things shocking in this game were its horrifying attempts at trying to emulate The Stanley Parable and other games similar to it. Such as.
The game's story continues its ungraceful flail down a flight of stairs even after the credits roll, when they introduce a blue box, same in color to the chair opposite "Adam". What does this mean? What does this mean? What DOES this mean? I think if you had the chance to ask the creator they wouldn't even know. I can't even say if its a poor attempt at bait for a sequel because it literally means nothing to me and has no connection to what was established.
It is ergo shocking how therefore this game fails at so much within the span of only 10 minutes. This is not a game you or anyone for that matter should play. I could give a child a computer with Unity and a few tutorials and I bet they could concoct a better creation within the span of a few hours than this insulting excuse for a game. The fact the developer even had the gall to think that this was worth money when there are so many fantastic free indie games out there that overshadow this in every single way. Its unfair to even compare this to other games because this isn't a game. Its a joke. A really bad joke told by a really unfunny person. Its the kind of joke that obnoxious person that you can never seem to escape would make, but even then a joke from a person like that would probably have more structure, wit, and cohesive storytelling than "The Interview".
I added random "smart" word flourishes to this review for satire but do not mistake this for a satirical review in any way. This game offends me that its here on the steam store for 2 dollars when there are so many fantastic indie games on here that you could give your money to. I feel no shame in refunding this, and you should feel no shame in returning to the steam store page and forgetting this game's existence entirely. Ergo.
Keep in mind: this game is $1.99, and it's not a 'game' at all. It's more of an art piece. I did not like the real and graphic videos used in the game but I understand why they were put in. You'll beat this in 10 minutes, max.
What a shitty game.
the graphics are utter ass, the gameplay itself is an atrocious walking sim with a bad plot and it also features some random gore in a low resolution.
not to mention the narrator being a microsoft sam voice.
however i bought this "game" because i thought it was shitty so buy it if u want a shitty horror game
or you could show the money to buy this up your rectum, same value you'd get from buying this.
if you want a dollar store version of the stanley parable buy this
10 minutes of inconsequential random imagery sloppily thrown together by someone who doesn't understand David Lynch. It's pointless, it's stupid, it's overpriced at $2. Still gets a recommendation because it's mildly interesting, and that's how low the era of yearly Assassin's Creed sequels has made my standards for this medium fall.
very very short, not worth the money, finished it twice in under 20 mins, and twice because i thought it might have different ending senarios, i was dead wrong pshh
An absolute abomination of a game that relies on a rather gimmic-y plot twist if you can even call it that. Lets just say the longest portion of the game is a shock film that's supposed to make you feel a certain level of digust or displeasure but really is poorly laid out and in like 120p. The game itself well the 10-20 minutes of it are focused around you being interviewed by Microsoft Sam's Ghost. You answer simple questions with 1 of the 2 answers they give you inivitably leading to an end which will absolutely leave you feeling hollow inside as it provides you with noting more than a shitty plot twist delivered with whatever shite assets the dev could snatch up for free. The game in and of itself had a semi decent concept yet managed to absolutely booger it up with the way the game plays. So the last thing I want to say is to keep your 2 bucks and spend it elsewhere and if you can still go get a refund I suggest doing so this game is dreadfully boring and certainly not worth your hard earned pocket change. 3/10 Ya fucked up interview. If you would like to see gameplay here is a link.

Beat the game in twelve minutes. You answer a few multiple-choice questions, watch some crappy cutscenes that are always the same regardless of your answers, and walk through a few horribly rendered empty rooms where nothing happens.
In short: this is not a game. Do not buy.
If you want a game that is a very poor man's version of "The Stanley Parable", with no real options or gameplay-changing choices to make, and a narrator that makes Microsoft Sam seem tolerable in comparison...
...I still wouldn't reccomend this game.
I've played with broken McDonald's Happy Meal toys that offered more to my sense of whimsy and enjoyment than this heap of a "Game".
Save your money, buy The Stanley Parable. In the end, you'll be a much happier person for not exposing yourself to this...thing.
Spoiler alert: This game is hot garbage.
No, seriously: It really, really sucks
STAY AWAY.
Usually I dont really care about other users reviews, and tend to give a game a fair shot, but I wish I'd've made an exception for this 'game':
EXTREMELY short; done within 13 minutes, and not even trying to rush it, for 1,99?! Felt like a rip off.
The 13 minutes itself felt like what I suppose a lsd trip must be like, and made me feel nautious.
The story itself: Well, I pretty much saw it coming after 2 questions, but I guess it might've been worthy of the name 'game' if it'd take a LOT longer to finish.
Definately not worth your 1,99
This game is honestly very out there and weird and if you enjoy werid then all for you but if you don't. Then it's not worth your time.
I love weird games but this was over the limt. The game is full on trippy and it bothered me to a full degree. It was full on disturbing and I feel it had a ton of stupid questions.
It was a mindfuck, making you think vise versa and etc. I understand what they tried to do but all the same it was so-so.
I have played better and this one made little sense if any.
Either way here is my let's play for it. Hope it helps you folks out!

This was seriously the worst $1.99 I've ever spent. The game itself spans about 20 minutes for a full playthrough, and the content isn't even anywhere close to incredible. If you want the "disturbing imagery" this game has to offer, just Youtube compliations of crazy sh*t that happening on the news, because that's about as "crazy" as it gets. Normally I listen to reviews before purchasing a game, but in this case I decided to give it a try anyways. That was a mistake. Oh and also, I went back and played the game again choosing completely different answers to all of the questions and the experience remained the exact same, so don't think you have any power to control the storyline, because you don't.
worst game ive ever paid for, not worth the money. Should be a flash game on some website nobody knows about.
Worst game i hav eever played. it was horrible. im shocked to find out there was a lot of disgusting pictures in the video in mid game. i would not recomend anyone to buy this. it felt like theft of 2 euros. i would remove this from steam. the consept is great tho. it could have been a great game. but not this way
I purchased this for a dollar while it was on sale.
It's sad when even a dollar is a waste of money for a game.
Worst €2,- spend ever. Developers, please give me my money back. you just make a little game-like movie in fucking Unity-3D, I can do it myself, and you sell it as a game. come-on. second, some images are very disturbing. You should put it in the description or something man -.-
The download was like... 170MB? I bet your average porn video would take longer to download... and would be way more exciting.
Anyways, I wasn't a fan of this game. Here's why:
When you launch the game, the settings screen appears, giving you options for the game. It's basic graphic stuff and keybindings, nothing special. The graphic settings range (and I'm not making this up) from Good, to Beautiful, all the way to Fantastic! And, of course, you can change the resolution too and which display you want the game on as well as if you want the game to be windowed or not.
At the start of this game (if you can even call it that... probably finished it in less than 15 minutes) you are greeted by a somewhat nice looking starting screen. You'll probably be thinking "Golly! The other reviews might just be wrong! Looks like a thrilling indie game ahead!" If this is what you think, then you might as well not play and save whatever is left of your hopes and dreams.
However, if you do decide to continue, you'll be greeted by a computer generated voice. But this isn't just any voice, this is that one british voice (Daniel... I think...?). And honestly, throughout the entire game I was expecting him to say "And this is the pro as heck guide to Master Yi". Unfortunately, he never does, and instead starts narrating something... as if it matters. He starts talking about how Adam (I assume this is your character) wants a job and he's going to an interview. After that little bit with him saying stuff, you finally end up in a hallway leading to an office and are given control of you player as well as a tiny black cursor.
Now here's the biggest part of the gameplay right here. What? The interview? No, silly! Battling the shittiest mouse/control scheme in the history of shitty mouse/control scheming! They decided to say "Hey! Fuck the sensitivity or having individual conrtols for anything! Lets just combine everything and hope it works! The main camera (this is first person, if it wasn't already apparent) and the cursor are both controlled with the mouse, and to make it even better, they're both at different sensitivities. Like... extremely different. The main sensitivity on a scale from 1 to 10 would be somewhere far beyond 10, as to where the sensitivity for the cursor wouldn't even reach 1. It's great, too, because you're gonna be needing that cursor a whole bunch for when you actually start getting interviewed. Oh wait, there's more! If you cared the least bit about anything in the game you would soon realize that there is no menu! So good luck with that!
As for the actual gameplay: As I was stating earlier, you're in a hallway and then you go into an office where you are told by our Pro as Heck guy to sit in a red chair. Then, right from the get-go they're trying to push for some mystery in the game by presenting you choices, such as "Where are you? " (As the interviewer isn't in the room) and "Why the red chair?" It's as if this game doesn't know what subtlety is, or that it doesn't care about it, which would be alright, if this game was supposed to be ironic.
After some dumb answer to your question that makes it obvious that there's more to their answer than what they just said, you begin answering pointless questions. Over time, though, they slowly porgress from stupid questions to... slightly less stupid ones. And whenever you answer a question, usually, you'll hallucinate for a few seconds. By hallucinate, I mean you teleport to some weird lcd looking vision in a jump scare-esque fashion and return after some creepy music and sounds play. The interviewer will urge you to calm down and whatnot, further pushing the mystery that was never there.
After a bit of questioning and struggling with the damn controls, the next phase of the interview begins. And this is where some people probably would perfer a warning or a caution... or anything, really. The next part of the interview basically just rolls a video where you can see a person get assassinated, another person getting hit by a car, and animal cruelty. It didn't really bother me as much as it would other people, but regardless, the game should probably have some type of warning about that, whether it be ingame or in the description.
Once the video stops, you are then asked even more questions, and this time, nothing even happens for the most part. You are just simply asked questions for a while. That don't mean anyhting. At all. The story doesn't change depending on what you choose. They're really only asked so that that the questions can progress into more serious and "disturbing" ones.
Not wanting to spoil the "wondeful" mystery the game has to offer, I won't tell of what else happens, but I will give you an idea:
After the questioning ends, you get to have fun with the walking feature that the game never really let you have fun with until now. That means you get access to super slow walking! And super useful jumping! I hope you can feel the sarcasm, because it's there. However, the greatest part of this game has to be the ending.
After all of this mystery and bullshit they tried to throw your way they really get you with the ending. I might have been able to at least be somewhat remotely okay with this game if they could have done this ending right (but, of course, that could never take away from what a travesty this game is.), but no. They really fucked it up.
When you finally reach the end, after spending half of the playthrough walking, you are greeted with a black screen and some text.
Imagine you were reading a detective novel or some shit, and you were so into it, and on the last chapter you finally get to find out what's really going on and you read this:
Jones was the culprit. He stole the stuff. The detective found out because he stole something. He became a famous criminal because he stole that important thing. He was taken to jail. The end.
Well, that's not too far from the ending of this game. I mean, the fact that it's so hilariously blunt that you'll fucking laugh your face off, not that he stole something. I mean really, I think I read another review talking about this game's lack of subtlety, but damn, this took it to a whole new low.
I bought this game expecting a horrible product, and what I got in return was something to occupy at least an hour or so of my time (this review :D). I got a game that wanted to be an eerie indie horror(?) game, but instead ended up being clunky waste of data. It gave me a good laugh, though, and now I can tell all my friends that I've possibly encountered the biggest pile of shit in my entire life. That, or I can tell them it's a masterpiece and get them to waste 2 bucks on it.
So the bottom line? Where do I stand? Should you buy it?
Hell, buy it if you want. If anything, it'll give you a laugh. Just make sure you have a PC that can run it.
*(settings sarcasm)*
Edit: Fixed some typos. Well... a lot of typos.
Edit 2: Game is still as bad as you think it is...
Storyline was neat at the end, however no real line of progression. Through the entire thing you will have no real idea what's going on until the end sequence explaining it in white text. Neat little demonstration of an idea, however no substance to be considered a full game in my opinion. If the author would expand on this idea more, I would definitely be interested. Concept is right down my alley, however I cannot recommend it at this time. If you want to experience a very short trip and can get past some annoyances from sound and the demo feel, it can be enjoyable.
I'd like to warn that there are some pretty graphic and disturbing imagery in this game, some of it live footage. I did not appreciate being shown this without being warned of it before purchasing and playing this game, and I would strongly urge the developer to put a warning label visibly in the description.
I was hoping for something along the lines of The Stanley Parable, which I'm sure was a big inspiration for this game. What I actually got was a pretty badly designed game with extremely awkward controls (the crosshair/dot is not static in the middle and moves to the edge of the screen, which makes it near impossible to select and click on things), a computer voiced narrator, and a story pretending to be clever like Stanley, but missing the mark entirely.
Would not recommend, even if it was free.
Here's something to think about if you are considering this game:
Have you ever wondered if a game was worth it, and went on YouTube and watched one of those "first 15 minutes of gameplay" videos? If you were to do that here, you will have seen the entire game. If you bought it for yourself, then, you would see those same few images and nothing else.
Developers please add more content! So far it was entertaining but after 15-20 minutes you are 100% done the game. Choices don't seem to affect the outcome? Played through twice and chose different things and so far it seems like a pretty canned 20 minute experience.
BUT I LIKE WHAT YOU DID.
DO MORE.
Make it like 2-3 hours at LEAST.
Edit: I am very willing to change my review to "Recommended" if there is new content appearing. If there are differences within the game for the choices you make, or any sort of feature that makes the game last a bit longer, it is something I look forward to.
Well, for one thing the controls are just awkward. I had to double click everything with a little black pointer, but I had to use the mouse to look around. So I'd end up looking at a wall while trying to click one of the objects.
And the ending is just bad. Very bad. Any semblance of subtlety the game had going for it (not a lot) was ruined in the last minute of the game. It just spells out everything with some white text on a blank background.
Save your two dollars for taco bell or something.
Not worth it right now. 2 bucks for a 10 minute game, unless you want a small burst of entertaiment. I liked it and will change my review if there is more added but for now, that's it.
I finished the game twice in 15 minutes. Did i get my 2 dollars worth? maybe. would i recommend anyone else spend money on this. NO. Go watch a lets play on youtube so you can get a couple laughs out of it. I am a little amazed he is charging money for this.
DO NOT BUY
