It's fun
endless fun
Challenging but senjoyable. Reccommended
I just really like this game. Sometimes one of the guys stands still but I l like the challenge of beating the clock.
Good variety of mini games. I wish there was a series of these.
Surprisingly fun and addictive. I only planned to play a few levels to try it out, but I ended up spending a few hours playing, and I kept saying to myself "just one more level". It's so fun queuing up tasks and watching your little guys running all around the map collecting crystals, wood, water and stone and completing the level within the expert time limit. Definitely recommend for even casual gamers
Legends of Atlantis is a very enjoyable game to play. I like the way it has a 'relaxed mode', and it teaches you how to play in the first few levels. Also, you can go back a play previous levels again, and when the game is over, you can play all of them again, or restart the game with a new name. It's sort of like 'playing God' in that you direct workers to do tasks. Five stars from me!
Fun casual game. Good for kids 8 & up.
love it
Okay, let's be 100% clear, this game does NOT deserve a thumbs down. I really wish Steam would allow us more than just a thumbs up/down. Unfortunately I have a little more con than pros for this game, hence the score. On a scale of 5, this is a 2.5. There's really nothing wrong with this game, no bugs I found, the art is a bit cartoony for my taste, but again, nothing wrong or offensive. The story is ok. This game is just ok, nothing really negative, except that it's a little RTS-like in that you have to build up bases and stuff, but then just as you get everything up and running, the stage is done. It sort of scratches that RTS itch, but then takes it away before you get to the satisfying part. Yes, I know it's not an RTS game, but it is enough like it to make this game unsatisfying for me. I do realize this is 100% a me problem and not the game's fault at all. It's just that I can not in good conscious recommend this game because it just leaves me wanting more. I realize this is unfair to the game, but I can just state my opinion of the game as far as Steam will let me. In a binary, yes/no, I have to rate it a no at the end of the day. However, if you like those tutorial stages in RTS games and totally wish they made a game about those stages, look no further, this is the game for you. Seriously, this is not a bad game. This game is just not to my taste. Leaving a thumbs down makes me feel like an ass and really leaves a bad taste in my mouth, as this game is no where near as bad as any other game I've given a thumbs down to before. This is a perfectly fine, completely playable game and deserves a try to see if it's a game you may like.
Lots of fun
This is a fun game. It can be completed in ~8 hours with each level lasting an average of 5 minutes making it ideal for casual gamers. Each level offers a slightly different challenge, some slightly more frustrating than others but none are too difficult - it's the timer in Challenge Mode than adds the difficulty. The bonus levels unlocked towards the end of the game are a step up in difficulty but, sadly, there are only three.
PSA: Achievements will ONLY unlock while playing Challenge Mode.
good game
Nice and fun game.
Better with a discount.
It's mildly addicting, finished the relaxed mode in two days. The story, or how it ends is slightly like how the Disney movie Atlantis goes, and I don't know if they got their inspiration from that or they decided to make an unofficial prologue to it. All in all, it's definitely fun and worth the money I paid for. Will look forward to finishing all the achievements now
A really nice game that I enjoyed playing! The Steam achievements are easy to obtain (after half the game, I already it made it perfect - in aprox 2 hours), but I continued to play, because I really enjoyed it!
Another time management game like Rescue Team and 12 Labours of Hercules
Casual time management game is always fun as they don't take much of my time
If anyone wants to play fun and short play time games, try this game out
In a nutshell: Nice little game. A few level design hangups, but otherwise it's a fun distraction. Format is very similar to the 12 Labours of Hercules or MOAI series, with a difficulty somewhere between the two. Requires more strategy than 12 Labours, but not edge-of-your-seat frantic like MOAI. Easy to 100%.
Gameplay
There are two difficulties - Relaxed (zen) and Challenge (timed), but they may as well be separate games. Despite the maps being identical, cleared levels don't carry over between them, so even if you beat Challenge you will have to start from the beginning on Relaxed. Achievements only unlock in Challenge mode.
Gameplay is smooth, but level design is messy. The maps look great at first, but it becomes tough to plan out routes. What you think is a path may not be a path at all, or is blocked by an obstacle halfway across the map. You'll also need to queue smartly if you want to get Expert times. Fortunately there are multiple ways to reach objectives, especially if you make good use of bonus items.
Bonus item pickups are randomly chosen from a list that you unlock through a handful of rather bland hidden object scenes. If you don't see the bonus(es) you want at the start of a level, just restart it for a new random pick. The RNG factor is kind of a neat idea though, because it can push you to come up with entirely different strategies.
Aside from the HOs, Legends also incorporates a simple ball-drop match-3 minigame. It's only a few levels though (one per 'world' like the HOs), and an acceptable way to change up the pace.
Other Stuff
The music is a terribly repetitive pan flute tune. I had to play with it turned off.
Achievements are super easy, and you'll probably end up with most or all of them before you even beat the game (there isn't one for beating the game, surprisingly).
The only bug I encountered was a small one in a single level (the one with the portal) where one worker was stuck idling even though there were actions queued. Restarting the level fixed it.
As far as replay value, unless you're going back to get top scores on everything, I suppose you can count the completely separate-but-identical Zen and Challenge modes.
Conclusion
Despite a hiccup or two, Legends of Atlantis is still a fun time management game that can hold its own next to the bigger titles, especially when it comes to difficulty. If you found 12 Labours too easy and MOAI too hard, this should be just right for you. Definitely worth a play if you're a fan of the genre.
I wasn't expecting this game to be so cool and adictive. I just can't stop playing, great casual game to spend time on a sunday or when you want to relax after work.
Recommended!
Liked the game but if you are in for the steam achievements they were there but never worked I received none despite actually accomplishing many. Game is fun, got stuck a few times by not doing things in just the right order but that makes it interesting and not too easy.
