Do you got a soft spot for old school Shoot em ups? Then look no further!
Cyberpunk 3776 harkens back to the glory days of arcades. It all begins on a post apocalyptic earth and proceeds into space. Your journey will be a metaphor about life and death, a road that every person has to walk down alone. The only choices you get while on your path to the inevitable end: keep your head up high or forfeit.
This game features a bold, unique and dark atmosphere with seven original stages. Each of them includes a unique boss that will challenge your skills and require it's own tactics. Cyberpunk 3776 boasts hours of breathtaking action, ship upgrades, floating healthpods and great voice acting by Nico Uusitalo.

I was very sad because my mother would not allow me to buy Cyberpunk 2077 because of the gore and profanity that lie in the game, festering in it like an infestation, like the voices in my head that told me to smear shit on old lady palmer's living room windows, putting me in prison for 7 days, juvenile style;) so i promised mommy that i would behave and for my good behavior she got me this, I was so mad i punctured her car tires so she could not take me to school LOL #YOLO anyway i decided to play this game out of boredom and it gave my special brother go on the floor and squirm like a worm, i think he liked the flashing lights:0 but the lore and gameplay is sublime, you are a man on an impossible mission to save what little is left of civilization, remembering your mother, uncle and father along the way, the bosses moved me in such a spiritual way i have been moved before and by then i was exhausted from ecstasy, I give this game a solid 8/10 and i will help my mom more to get flying gorilla coins
Created by developer Peter Hann, Cyberpunk 3776 is a 2D side-scrolling shoot ‘em up. The game is not particularly innovative nor deep and overall it is very classic apart from its dark and bold post-apocalyptic atmosphere. With its small price, it is still recommended for shoot ‘em up enthousiasts.
it's definitely not worth its price but this is a fun little shoot 'em up. it's not the best made, i liked glorkian warrior better. honestly free shoot 'em up linux games are better than this though. not recommended simply because it's not a very good version of its genre. if you watch a video of it and it looks fun to you you're probably right
A decent horizontal 2D shmup with the stylistic graphics, pleasant futurewave soundtrack, and atmospheric narration. The difficulty is just right and enemies and the bosses vary from each other sufficiently resulting in different gameplay situations. The skill tree is broad enough and allows you to build a ship that suits your playstyle. Overall, not a bad game for its price, especially on sale. If you are a fun of simpler shooting games, grab it. The only downside I can describe is the inability to revert the mouse bindings back to the actual mouse if one sets the keyboard keys.
There are definitely better shoot 'em up games out there that deserve your time and money more than this one. I have a few issues, and while I can probably think of more later, this is what I thought of off the top of my head.
1) The random guy mumbling random sayings.
2) Constantly flashing lights for no real reason. That makes it a problem when you're trying to see what you're supposed to shoot or avoid.
3) Constantly floating backwards when not controlling your ship at all. It's so annoying when you have to stay in a spot to heal you have to keep going right to keep up. In other games, you stay where you're at.
4) Maybe this is just me, but I don't remember many side-scrolling shoot em ups to have enemies come from both the top and bottom of the screen when there isn't a ground or ceiling. This means staying to the left of the screen is the only real "safe" place, but it's near impossible to stay there when the screen is almost filled with enemies and bullets. It feels cheap staying to the top middle of the screen only to die because an enemy popped up off screen and hit your ship.
5) Regular weapons can overheat. To some degree I can kind of see why they went this route, but considering the amount of enemies on a screen at certain points, it takes too many stat points to properly upgrade that stat and other games that don't have that mechanic, I found it frustrating not being able to defend myself while the screen is filled with enemies. Have you ever wanted to play a shoot 'em up where your weapons can overheat? If so, then this is the game for you.
I'm sure the creator put in some effort to make a competent shoot 'em up, but it seems like it really didn't bother seeing other quality games in the genre (i.e. Gradius) and using similar mechanics, and it made me feel like the creators were okay putting something out that was average at best, and I'm being really generous about that statement. I had this on my wishlist for a while, and while I'm glad I got it on sale for 3 bucks, I can't recommend buying it at any price. If you're wanting a good shoot 'em up, check out Revolution Ace. Sure it's an overhead view and not a side view, but the mechanics are much better, a 2 player mode is available, there are RPG elements, and if you catch it on sale, you can find it for 16 cents, which I wouldn't spend that much on this game.
Bottom line: Save your time and money for better games in the genre.
This side-scrolling shooter by Peter Hann is a good way to pass the time. I wouldn't call it revolutionary or anything but it is very entertaining to revisit the arcade-style spaceship games of the 80s and 90s.
Pros:
Unique boss battles at the end of each mission
Upgrades to make your ship better and progress
Ship sprites look great and the controls are tight
Cons:
Overheating is obnoxious and not sure it helps the arcade-style feel of this game

Cyberpunk 3776 is a shoot-them-up with a progressive "story" which is well narrated, an upgrade system and the classic boss battle at the end of each stage. The graphics are OK. The Cyberpunk-ish atmosphere is there. I do not recommend the game because of its pricetag, but fans of the genre might apreciate it for its simplicity.
