For a Final Fantasy game, and the first to ever be rated M, Type-0 is a great deal of fun, offering enough replayability, it offers plenty to go around. A bit tedious without proper leveling, sure, and a short story, the replay value is intense.
It's a great game to pass the time, and it's gritty enough to be an intense game, and it's a simple game to play, with many options for your own playstyles, with different types of magic and characters.
Not my fav FF series. Character feel bland, the combat are awful, tedious work to leveled all the characters. More importantly the story are confusing.
Man...there not a single thing i like about this game? OH, i like Sice's (she's so cool and the scythe are so bad*ss)
Game desperately deserves a proper remake, modding to fix the 30fps + 1080p cap can't save how awful it feels to play.
Could truly be something special if it was given a better budget and rebuilt from the ground up, including bringing back multiplayer support.
I really wanted to like this game, however It was just not enjoyable. The game play is wonky and the moment it turned into Persona "go to class", "spend 6 hours", I dropped it.
My fastest drop of a video game yet. It took only one hour (after 2 hours of tinkering to get it to work) to understand that I will not enjoy it in the slightest. It look like ass, it plays like ass.

Sitting through the intro watching some guy cry about his dead bird for what felt like hours was painful.
The worst Final Fantasy game. Bland characters, combat that is mediocre for some characters and downright unplayable for others, multiple random gotcha moments designed just to kill you, story that happens 1/4th in exposition and 2/4ths entirely off-screen, awful dub (I usually play my FF games in English and I usually like it), awful camera, boring side quests, loads of random game systems that don't interact or make sense or contribute anything, no EXP share meaning you have to grind up *14* characters individually, and a final chapter that came so far out of nowhere I genuinely thought I skipped cutscenes. The only enjoyable bits were the first and last cutscenes and some of the music. Truly awful.

There are 12 character with difference skill can use. However, the enjoying of the skill in battle is less.

I played this game before on PSP, it was amazing experiences. Amazing storyline, great graphic and soundtracks!
The battle system is fast-paced, real-time combat system. You can control up to 14 characters, each with unique equipments and abilities. The combat is responsive and enjoyable, combining melee/range attacks and magic.
The story is heavy for newcomers, the narrative is dark and so emotional, with themes of death, sacrifice, and war.
When it came to PC, I was expecting to get good porting/remake with some improvements from PSP version. But now I can say this one is worst Remaster game I've ever played, there is no improvement at all even for the camera controls. You also need to install mod to unlock 60 FPS.
But apart from various shortcomings, this game is one of the best JRPG games I've ever played.

Another game with the piss-filter. Damn that filter marked an era.
To be honest this game seems to have a great setting, but it's unplayable by today standards. Even in hand held looks like it's lacking.
I really left it because it was grindy and slow paced.
I had actual tears running down my cheek with how a$$ this game is.

Great 9/10 game and an underrated Final Fantasy game that delivers an engaging Action-RPG oriented gameplay, brings a lot memories of me playing this game on PSP. Sadly this game is stuck at 30 FPS, and this port doesn't play well on 30 FPS. The motion blur was intense and even its turned off, you'll still feel very dizzy.
However, thanks and credits to Banz99 from Github (https://github. com/Banz99/Final-Fantasy-Type-0-Hd-Unlocker) (remove the space on .com) for fixing this issues that Square Enix never bothers to fix in the first place. Now I can play this game on 4K running on 60 FPS and fixing the motion blur. As a gamer who loves playing on high motion blur settings, this mod made it look very cool.
Really has not aged well. Not worth the £19.99. Get it on offer. Even if you do get it, you will have to use mods to get the game play to run above 30 fps. Same with the graphics, you will have to mod it to have anything above 1080p. Even the 1080p looks awful so then with the mod you have to adjust some settings to get it to look less barbaric.
Let me be clear, this game was made for the Playstation Portable that had 480 x 272 resolution and was not capable of anything too graphical or complicated. That's not to say the PSP didn't have good games, for the time, by 2024 standards if you are not playing this game on a psp, it is not too good on PC, and the game play was designed for a handheld so it is nothing too great.
Still though, if you can look over the flaws, you may find the game to have an addictive game play loop with an interesting story.
