Fabulous! More please! Similar to a sokoban-type puzzle game... with twists...sort of.
A challenging problem-solving game geared for any gamer with an analytical mind. The artwork is great too. I keep going back to ensure I remember how to solve them all. Starts out with easy training rooms, and works its way to complex problematic rooms you begin to suspect have no answer. They all do have an answer. In the end, the very end, it is a solvable puzzle. The update allows for an endless supply of more and more challenging rooms to solve.
Wonderful levels. Bonus Basement levels means the intrigue doesn't seem to end! Get it! You won't be disappointed.
10/10
This is a really great puzzle game. Just the right level of challenging. More please.
Vive Review.
The game starts off nicely, it's a fun little puzzle game in a relaxed setting. All is well until game breaking bugs stop you advancing any further. They are:
1/ The character randomly decides it can't climb stairs and/or can't move.
2/ The menu stops taking inputs. As in menu items will highlight, but they can't be clicked/chosen. And game features also suffer this, IE: The phones/stairs often can't be clicked.
Can't recommend the game based on these issues, it all happens at random times. Me and the kids have ended up really frustrated each time we've played it.
I7-6700K / MSI GTX1080.
If you love puzzles this is a great game that is both fun and challenging. It uses a bit of problem solving and platform style levels to accomplish the goal of unlocking a door in each room of the mansion. There are a few mansions and each one has a basement to explore that challenges you with more puzzles and problem solving then the main part of the mansion. I just love the animation style of the game.
I like this game, it's a very good puzzler. But one annoying thing, the lantern. Does anybody remember "clippy" from microsoft office?
Simply put, this game is a must have for every puzzle game enthusiast!!! I found this game to be challenging and rewarding.
I'm talking Vive here.
Besides being broken, and saying "trial version" on the monitor's display, I'm not sure what this game has to offer because I cannot play it in VR.
Couldn't enter any room because I was teleported outside of reach of anything when going "macro"
Played less than an hour atm, but like it already.
Rooms: The Unsolvable Puzzle reminds me Spooky Door on mobile, but this game is much better; graphics and in-depth puzzles
Highly recommended!
With the vive, eventually I got to a point where I cannot advance. This is the end of the first set of rooms. I can't click on anything to advanced the story.
Enjoying Rooms very much! It is a great little puzzler and looks fantastic in VR! It is the game that finally got my wife to sit down and play something in the Rift. Amazing that this was done by one person (I believe)...really great use of VR.
It's a difficult but fun game. It's a sliding block puzzle game with a lot of extra mechanics, such as puppets that chase you and explode in your face, locked rooms, boarded up rooms, etc. The mechanics are quite clever and the game does a great job of walking you through each new mechanic, though I hated the mirrored rooms with a passion. Instead of timing you, the game keeps track of moves. If you go "over par" you get fewer puzzle pieces awarded. In reality, this only hurts if you're achievement hunting, but it still encourages you to find the best way to solve each room.
The game is set with a fairy tale background - a mysterious tinker who becomes evil and you, the little girl, are fated to be his next victim if you can't figure out the rooms in his house. Unlike many games, there is a very good reason that the tinker's house is puzzles. Spoiler - it's not because he gives his victims a sporting chance.
Because all of the puzzles are sliding rooms, and there are a LOT of rooms, it's best to play this game in chunks over a few weeks so the game doesn't feel repetitious. In some of the rooms, the girl has an animation of a tired sigh. That's probably what'll you be doing in real like if you try to do a marathon session of this game.
The one thing I didn't like was that the mansion is pretty linear. If you get stuck on a room, you don't have many places to go otherwise. If you're stuck on room 4, you can't skip to room 5. You have to get though half of one bulding before you unlock the next one, so you can get get bogged down by a single room. You can do the basement, but that's significantly more difficult and the same "no skipping rooms" rule applies.
Some people have said that the endings are too short (one for completing the main buildings, one for completing the basements), but they do fit the fairy tale motif. It would have been nice to have longer, more elaborate endings, but they were appropriate for the game.
The game isn't for everyone, but for those who enjoy this type of puzzle, it's well worth the price.
Love it! I couldn't stop! Great atmosphere, great puzzles, interesting story. I can't say enough about this game.
The puzzles are challenging. However I'm not sure if it's linux version or what but the controller absolutely sucks. Not a single button on my controller could activate, bombs, levels, or phones. The rest is iffy at best. The navigation is hokey, and the d pad does not move you, dispite the "hint" at the right. Could not find ANY option to exit game, even esc gave no option to exit game. Had to alt-tab and close.
Conclusion, although puzzles are challenging and the ONLY enjoyable part of the game, the controller and the rest are complete crap. Feel very poorly thought out and executed. (note could be for linux port only)
Really nice puzzle game, pleasent graphics and music. Love to hate the damn game when it traps me :-)
I like the protagonista, she's cute somehow.
Works much better than the first one, no glitches with clicking ladders etc.
They got rid of the annoying Mr. Book.
Puzzles are much harder - yay!
Couldn't ask for more from a puzzle game. Hard but fair, well-presented, an interesting style of puzzle, and generally addictive as hell. Stayed the course to finish the main set of 96 puzzles; looked at some of the bonus basement puzzles but the variants they throw in were a bit too much for me. Still, quite a triumph by the designers.
Some of these puzzles are very difficult and seemingly impossible, but they are all solvable. There was no walkthrough available at the time, but with the help of another person I was able to beat the game. As far as whether or not they can all be solved in the minimum number of moves, I haven't achieved that yet, but I assume they all can. Anyway, it IS a fun game, but quite frustrating at times. I recommend this game, but not if you're looking for easy puzzles.
Great game for all puzzle lovers! It works on a move degrading scale. Like you have a certain amount of moves until you get less points.
