New music + new modes + new visuals = CHIME SHARP.
Place pieces, paint the board, make music. Chime Sharp is an sequel to 2009's Chime, a music puzzle game with an addictive, ambient heartbeat. You tessellate shapes to cover a grid, while a beatline reads those shapes as notes. As you cover the board the music builds to a beautiful crescendo of your own design. The only way to discover Chime is to play it, but if you want a glimpse, consider what it might feel like to cross Tetris, a music sequencer and a hypnotic dream about your favourite pop song.
Chime Sharp takes Chime's classic dynamic and updates it for 2015. The core rules are the same but the aesthetic is clean and modern and the game's soundtrack has been completely refreshed. With fifteen new levels, experimental modes, new-era connectivity and sharper ways to play, Chime's finally back -- and it wants to be your new favourite mixtape.

Coming from a noise music enjoyer, the first two tracks were intensely grating. I had to tab out and mute the game all together, partially due to there not appearing to be an in-game music slider. Don't know if it gets any better from there but overall this was a great distraction while i listened to long winded diatribes about cape slop.
Don't remember how much i had paid for this thing, but it was most defiantly worth the pocket change.
Was hoping this game would be a great successor to the original, but the game feels like it's still in development, unpolished and lacks any good variety of music. The procedural and progressive nature, alongside the quality and variety of the first game outshines this a million fold.
Visuals and UI looks like a web game with no love or attention put into it, the whole thing feels very rushed and chucked together. In reflection, I should've had lower expectations just from seeing the trailer alone. The colours and even the music looks and sounds randomly generated honestly. The original didn't have any "rusty edges" compared to this abomination.
The controls are janky for both controller and keyboard. The amount of times I'd misclick a square because the snapping moved it back a square really pissed me off. It's far harder to achieve full coverage as the time system is way too strict, even going at a similar pace I would for the original game.
I'll probably just stick to the original I think. Lots of potential for a great sequel and falls before the first step. If you want a good remastering/sequel example, take a look at Rez HD -> Rez Infinite. Also that loadup sequence is wtffff painful to hear. 1/10
