Overall pretty good game! The main campaign is short but very fun with a mechanic that never wore out for me. The story never really hit for me, but I understand what they were trying to do. 100% can be tedious, especially because all challenges include the same 25 levels, but that would not stop me from recommending this game. I got it on sale which I think is the way to go.

It's great until it isn't.

The game is innovative, until its only gimmick wears quite thin and you're left with a game that MASSIVELY overstays its welcome. The lack of variety really shows in the way this game tries to extend its incredibly short runtime by giving you the same missions over and over again with slight changes. Despite what the game will try and tell you, it is not unique or a "Challenge" to give you the same level as before, but this time you can only use melee, or you can only shoot one bullet; it is just boring.

However, despite all of this, I still would recommend this game to almost anyone. For anyone not familiar with the game, and who hasn't already played it 7 times on other consoles, it really makes you FEEL like John Wick or Neo from the Matrix. Get it on a sale though, as 25 dollars is quite a steep ask.

Most of my problems are solved in its direct sequel, Mind Control Delete. That game is able to rehash the same levels over and over while still giving enough uniqueness to each run-through.

Its an amazing game with a very innovative mechanic. The hitbox for your own player can be tricky at first to calculate, but after a while it comes naturally. It is short, but its fun which is what matters right? Quality is not about quantity :)

ever since i played the prototype version of this game back in the days, this game became a HUGE part of my childhood. and after i bought this when it was on sale after wanting to play this version of SUPERHOT ever since its release and waiting for so long (+also seeing my skills in the game are on the same level as in the prototype but hopefully i'll improve),this is probably one the of the best fucking games i've ever played in 2025. best almost 7 euroes of my life man.

So the removed suicidal content from the game but still have you kill your self in this version of it. hmm
btw half the game is waiting for them to be dramatic and controlling, so you gotta have patience.

Absolute random on if you will get lucky with enemies and their weapons, your bullet paths are random at most, and you can only pray for last enemy not to decide to shoot in you instead of 40 other places he aimed at in past second. There are better fucking random number generators, and they wont affect your nerves.

it was okay. I'm not good at action games so it's why I tend to stick to games that are either turn-based, RTS, or exploration-based. The main reason I bought it was it was advertised as a kind of "John Wick simulator" and the advertisement literally states time doesn't move when you don't. I was like "Nice! I get to take my time and strategise" but it's not the case. The game still moves, just really slow and looking around to plan your next move can cost you the round. If there was an option for total stand-still then I'd feel motivated to do all the endless stuff, but just finishing the main missions and finding their secrets is enough. There are also a lot of moments when it's just luck. Whether it's every single bullet of the shotgun's scattershot missing you or even the weapons that enemies spawn with, there are times when you just get lucky and skill isn't entirely what gets you through. Again, I'd prefer an option for total pause when not moving or even looking around, and if the elitists want to roast me for not "getting gud" or "skill issue", if the option WAS available, no one would be forcing you to use it

So. This is a great game. If someone just asked me yes or no, do you recommend this or not, as Steam does, I'd say yes. It's such a clever, fun idea for a shooter. The game only moves when you do, so you can look around and plan your move as people with shot guns and bats charge at you. I love the actual gameplay.

Where it falls a little short is the story. Honestly, it's pretty interesting, but it's nothing special, and it just gets in the way of the gameplay. The developers created just about the ultimate arcade game that would get you constantly feeding quarters into the machine, but then they interrupt it with forced boring story sections where you're just clicking or hitting ESC until you can get back into the part of the game where you're actually playing.

Anyway, it's a great concept. And the story behind it is decent too. But with this game, I just want to play level after level until I get bored, but they decide to interrupt your gameplay with "story" elements (random text that you just have to click through). I'd honestly enjoy the story if it were incorporated into the game at all, but it's completely separate, where you play a level then have to sit through boring text exposition.

So in the end, it's a great, well-executed concept ... except they tacked a story onto it. I'd say just buy Superhot 2 instead, since it has a better challenge/endless mode.

Also: Never press Escape while playing this. It immediately pulls you out to the main menu, erasing any progress on the level you're playing. I could understand not having a pause if the game was literally frozen when you're not moving, but instead it moves in super slow motion (so if you need to step away, too bad. Time keeps moving, and you can't pause. The levels are short, but they should still have a pause. But if halfway through a level something happens and you have to focus on something else, well, you're fucked. You've gotta restart the level.

Really short but incredibly fun game with such a unique time manipulation mechanic that I have to leave this as positive.

The closest you can get to feeling like Neo in The Matrix

If you look through SUPERHOT's reviews you'll see countless people calling it: "The most innovative shooter ever" and this couldn't be more true, this game is the GOAT of all shooters.
It puts any shooter you can think of to shame, and if your the lore type, the person who wants a creepy underlying story to their game... I've got news for you, this game has so many secrets! I've collected all of the secret collectibles them and gotten 84% of the achievements. And I plan on unlocking the rest, the rest of the ones I haven't unlock yet are just time sensitive. Like killing X amount of guys in endless mode etc. Anyway, as much as people praise this game...
I must be honest and say that the game play gets stale sometimes, it can be really repetitive.
Especially with the challenges mode. Which throws you through all of the levels you've beaten before but usually with a twist. I've beaten all of the HARD through IMPOSSIBLE challenges and let me tell you. Their more frustrating than fun.
But other than that, a masterpeice must play of a shooter.

Really fun game, I would even call it an all-time classic. Like how it develops on its concept of time slowness, and how scattered and secret the lore for it is. Really fun, 7/10, just because im not too much of a fan of FPS games and the achievement grind is really repetitive and tasking(which is why I won't be doing it any time soo). Recommended.

I was hoping for something more of Max Payne style but this turned out to not be it. Concept is good but the game is really difficult and gets boring quickly. Not my bag.

ive already beaten the game in 2hrs but the combat is so fun that i just do the endless modes it is kinda difficult but the time mechanic allows for more thought and breathing moments

This game has a pretty cool concept but that's about it. in my opinion this game is simply way too overhyped. The story is shorter than 90 minutes, 60 if you are hurrying, 30 if you barely make a mistake and 15m 52s 107ms if you are the world record holder.

First of all, the story is just trash, constantly pretending like you are helpless and a slave to the Virus, when in reality literally nothing changes. I can't write what I think? That's been there from the beginning! I can't exit the game? Yes I can, just press the windows button or any of the fifteen shortcuts, that close the game. You are also not really forced to obey, ratehr being "You have to" and then not actually doing anything. Making me bored is not forcing me.

But lets look at the shooter part instead: It is pretty okay but over all it's short once you figure out how to play, most levels are pretty easy but the game gives you the illusion of difficulty by spawning enemies behind you with no way of knowing unless you died to them before and even if, you probably don't know it was them since there is no way to know what killed you. They also walk like they are completely drunk, making aiming a nightmare sometimes. The weapons are pretty boring, I like the Gun the most, since it is just simple and fitting for such a game, you can shoot, you can throw, once it's out, no more shooting for you. Punching is also pretty fun but completely ruins the point of the bat, the corwbar and the katana which are all (more or less) the same. The spread weapons are pretty trash, why would i need a spread weapon in a game where i have all the time in the world to move and am often punished for getting close? There is also a weapon that if you shoot, shoots 4 times and fast, again, why do i need that? It feels so much more unprecise if there are more bullets, just make it fire one bullet. Lastly the throwing items are pretty fun, although enemies only get stunned from them unless you hurl like 10 at them.
Lastly, you have the ability to "take control of them" which is just a lie and actually means: "You teleport to the point where the enemy was standing and kill him but have no weapon now". It sounds pretty fun but it's stale quickly since instead of landing a cool shot in slow Motion or managing to get to the guy and punching him to pieces, you just pressed a button and it feels like no impact at all. A better Version would have been to control the red guy for a little bit, using his weapons and fighting the other guys before switching back to yourself instead of how they handled it.

The game is also far too short for being this price, even discounted I don't really find it worth it. If you played through the story, there are challenges which are pretty much playing the story again but with a specific weapon.

You can also rewatch your gameplay after a level, which would be pretty cool, if it wouldn't look so goofy at full speed, was shrunken down, had the worlds most ugliest effect over it and the robotic voice that is capable of less words than Groot from Guardians of the Galaxy: "Super Hot".

I actually have no problem with the grafics, I think it fits pretty well. The maps could have really used more veriety, the windows for example are pretty cool, having something in the map that is interactable.

If you still like the slow Motion shooting and want the game just for that, Time Shooter 2 on crazy games is probably your best option since instead of handing over your life savings, you can play the slightly worse version for free. On top of that, you don't need to suffer through this half-assed story.

If you couldn't tell, I kind of don't like the game but that is just my opinion, if you want to make your own, don't forget that you can refund games if you didn't play them for more than 2 hours and didn't own them for more than 2 weeks.

i like this game very much the story is cool and while the story is short it doesnt matter for the gameplay and you still have things like challenges that you can complete and the gameplay is very good i like the time stop mechanic which at first i thought would be op and make the game too easy but its nothing like that its still challenging and i recommend this game cool game noice game

Though, not that innovative in 2025 but it's still a fun game. 100%-ing it was quite a pain and it did get a bit repetitive but it's very satisfying when you get it done.

Really fun gameplay. Especially when you get into some of the harder challenge runs. I tried 100% but endless mode is a grind and really feels under developed. Would highly recommend for people that want to get into fps.

I got this game just last night, and I already love it!

There is a pretty good amount of content for a ten dollar game, if you only wanna complete the main story then it will take only about 1 and a half hours, but there are tons of challenge runs you can do as well which add at least 8 extra hours of content.

There is also an endless mode where you can try to get as many kills as possible without dying to unlock new endless maps.

Anyways the gunplay is stellar, at first it is kinda tough to shoot the enemies because the bullets move abnormally slow compared to other games, but once you get used to it it's very satisfying.

I cant really comment on the graphics because there are no textures or anything so I guess the graphics are just.. fine?

In this game, time only moves when you move, meaning you have to think on your feet and take out all the red guys. There isn't many weapons and they aren't that unique but that doesn't matter as that isn't the main focus. The game is simple mechanically but complex everywhere else. The story is very unique and interesting and as much as it wasn't the longest, it was pretty good. There's plenty of side content outside of the main campaign to keep you invested.

For example there is endless mode where well it's in the name and you can slowly unlock new maps and challenges within endless. There's also plenty of individual levels you can play and even replay the story missions and master them.

The game is tons of fun and I highly recommend this game. It's not just a typical fps.

Cool concept but way too short of a game for what it is asking. The main mode can be beaten in an hour or so. Once you get beyond the time slowing down mechanic it's just a simple shooter with a few melee weapons.

Like how I can play a simple action game without excessive gore or any real violence.

Excluding the extra content required to 100% the game, the main game itself is quite short but it manages to tell a pretty good story in that short time. Plus with all the extra content you will not feel that you paid too much for such a little amount of play time.

Good game; a lot shorter than I was expecting, but solid and a mandatory playthrough for any game designer. Pinnacle of 'game jam game to commercial success' stories and you can see all that DNA.

Seriously enjoyable FPS with a unique and engaging concept.

The levels are so tightly designed that a lot of people consider this game a good puzzle, but as someone who likes the moment-to-moment gameplay itself, I'm impressed they managed to give me 20 hours of content from only 30 levels.

That's thanks to the challenge mode, which tasks you to replay the game multiple times with a certain gamerule. It can be that your guns have one bullet, your throwables kill on impact, or you can only use your katana, which "remixes" the experience in an interesting way.
Some of the challenges are really hard, like bare hands, which strips you of the ability to pick up items and forces you to get up close to the enemies, which was so hard, in fact, that it changed my view of the levels entirely and tricked me into mastering the game.

Very cool unique gameplay. I love the aesthetics. Very fun to play

It just goes to show that amazing graphics do not make amazing games. This is simply a masterclass at immersion with the simplest mechanics and story. It's such a wonderfully immense experience.

As much as I'd like to lean into the "The most innovative shooter I've played in years."
I think I owe it the game to pull back the curtain a tiny bit.
This game will stick in your mind for its story, not its sick combat.
Telling you any more would ruin the experience, and you owe yourself to experience it yourself. I've thought about this game for several times longer than I've actually spent playing it, a particular feat only very few games accomplished in my decade of playing lots and lots of them, at point of writing only Oneshot, the norse God of war series and Nier automata come to mind.

It's a great concept, and I think it's very well executed. I remember playing the demo online years ago, and the words SUPER HOT were etched deep into my mind and came back to the surface when I played the full game. It was a bit short, I finished it in right under 3 hours but there seem to be quite a lot more additional content to enjoy. I like the fact that it's not too easy, I got stuck on a few levels, dying again and again, trying out different paths to finally complete the level in a way that is super satisfying. The graphics are super simple and easily readable, there are the black weapons, red enemies and the rest is mostly white. I also loved trying out different weapons, that have different strategies to them.

Definite recommend.
