Viking Conquest
From the creators of the popular “Brytenwalda” mod, “Viking Conquest” is a brand new DLC for Mount & Blade Warband! This single and multi player DLC brings Mount & Blade to historical Dark Age Britain, complemented by authentic scenes and cultures. The DLC features a story mode with a complex plot, where choices have real consequences, as well as a standard sandbox mode in an all new setting, with expanded options and controls. Online battling also takes on its own flavour, with special modes like Coastal Assault and Warlord.- Living world that evolves around you, with historical and random events, as well as the actions of the player all contributing.
- More than 300 new cities, castles, villages and special scenes to discover, explore, conquer and plunder.
- More than 200 historical characters and 100 extra NPCs: Kings, Lords, Ladies, bards, priests and many others. Meet legendary figures like Ivar the Boneless or his bother Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye, royalty like Harald, later known as FairHair, or Aelfred of Wessex.
- A story mode where the player will be part of a complex plot involving political conspiracy, during the time the sons of Ragnar were leading their Great Heathen Army through Britain. An immersive game style with choice and consequence, romance, betrayal, moments of greatness and ruin.
- A sandbox mode, the classic Mount&Blade system, where goals are determined by the player, but with all the richness and options offered by the new setting.
- More than 15 possible companions, with deep interaction and different personalities. Sometimes their conflicts will force you to use cunning and diplomacy.
- A complex religion system with two faiths, The Norse Gods and Christianity, with monasteries, special NPCs and parties. Religion will be a important factor in the game that will affect the player's interactions even within their own party.
- Naval travel and warfare, a key feature to really make the setting complete.
- Battles can range from simple robbery to massive naval conflicts between huge fleets laden with warriors, all in dynamic battles where you can pilot your own boat, adjusting for factors such as wind, waves, and weather.

great
Still a bug ridden mess over 10 years after release. Constant crashes, troop behaviour that wouldn't fly in a mod made in 2 days, barely any difference between faction troops, the most basic and boring trading loops you can imagine, its painful to see how much this DLC was screwed up because the time period and writing is leaps and bounds beyond the rest of the game. Save your money and play literally any mod instead of this waste of time.
I really expected Bannerlord to have more complexity then this when it came out, but it turned out to fall short with me in the end VC is still an incredible DLC and is easily way better then Vanilla Warband and Bannerlord!
a lot of promise but all horrible execution
Bannerlord doesn't even come close to this grim atmosphere and interface.
sending a bad review NOT because i want to but because im starting a movement to fix Bannerlord so in till its fixed, im not removing my review
Just an ultimately unrewarding experience. Its really cool to have like an actual story for Mount and Blade, but its handled so poorly, mainly due to artificial difficulty.
You're not allowed to bring more than 30 men into an area...to then fight a battle where the enemy has double that (Early game as well, so you wont have elite troops...but they do). Some enemies have god-like cheat armor where none of your attacks do anything, so they just spam attack right through, every attack stunning you (but you can't stun them even if you're wielding a two-handed axe). There is no skill in either of these things, just straight up disabling mechanics because the devs hate you.
As for the story itself, its one of those, "Every decision you make will always piss everyone off and everything is bad all the time." Which is miserable to play through. Changing out reputation for honor doesn't make any sense. Why would I lose reputation with Vikings for raiding christian monasteries and villages? Stupid.
Great concept but the mod itself, and it is a mod that you're paying for, is just dogshite.
Better than Bannerlord.
One of the best.
Better than base game. This 'DLC" is a game on it's own.
More realistic than the base game; loosely based on real-life history with new mechanics (shield wall, bash, naval combat).
Starting options are given for various difficulties: classic adventurer start, lesser lord start, and kingly start. I recommend beginning with the lord start as you don't begin with much while it is somewhat necessary given the general realism of the expansion.
If you love infantry, this is the best version of the game available in any form as it is feature complete. I recommend the Prophesy of Pendor workshop mod if you like cavalry/archers.
I'd advice ignoring the initial negative review spike. It had a buggy release, but now it still gets updates a decade later.
Alba forever
this is legit the best way to play single player mount and blade
