🎯 Final Verdict
Morphopolis is a visually mesmerizing and unique puzzle-adventure game that will appeal to fans of artistic gameplay and tranquil experiences. The puzzles are engaging, and the insect world is beautifully realized, offering a peaceful retreat. However, the game is relatively short, and its lack of replayability and deeper narrative may leave players wanting more. Still, it’s a fantastic choice for those looking for a meditative experience with clever puzzles. The artwork and immersive sound create an atmosphere that is soothing, making it a great game to unwind to, despite its short length.
For players who appreciate a combination of intricate puzzles and visual beauty, Morphopolis offers a fulfilling journey, though it's better suited for short sessions due to its limited depth.
This game is well animated and beautifully drawn with some neat puzzles to play.
This is a nice short game to add to your experience.
Incredible artstyle and visual. I love the sound track as well, good vibes all around.
A minimum amount of crashes, but only while loading stages and therefore no progress lost.
The UI isnt the best, there are no way to adjust settings and in my opinion the music was a bit loud.
For the price, id say this game is a good investment on a quiet evening.
More art than game. Looks really nice, as the design is really well done.
As you can see though, not much playtime to finish 100%.
It's about insects and plants, and life stuff.
Lovely little puzzle game. You need a bit of patience to figure out what the game wants you to do at certain points, because there are no explanations, but I found none of it too difficult.
+ beautiful art
+ relaxing music
+ wonderful theme of insects & nature
+ innovative mix of hidden picture and puzzle solving
- crashes often (solution: if you don’t click anywhere or anything during loading screens, it doesn’t seem to crash as much)
- movement is clunky. Took me some time to realise I can move at all
- short (completed it in under 2 hours)
I really enjoyed it though and wish there were more games like Morphopolis.
as a maximalist art piece it's quite enjoyable, but as a game it epitomizes frustration in a way few other point & click games have ever managed to do
I loved how vibrant this surreal puzzle game is. It's pretty short, but worth it.
Unplayable.
The good:
+ Pretty graphics
+ Pretty music
The bad:
- Extremely bad performance, constantly hangs/freezes when loading a level or the main menu. After I limited the FPS via my GPU software, it got a little bit better, but still rather unplayable.
- Fiddly controls. The tutorial kept telling me over and over to drag in a specific gesture, I followed it exactly, but still it took like 10 tries for the game to finally realise what I've been doing all along.
- Zero settings. Nothing, nada, not even a full screen toggle.
- Wtf am I supposed to do? The game just plopped me into a piece-swapping puzzle with having no idea what the end state is supposed to look like. Poked around in it a bit, there was no discernible goal I was supposed to work towards, so I just exited the game.
Final thoughts:
Avoid - pretty, but unplayably rough.
Beautifully made simple game, with interesting puzzles
