It's like black flag but it's in a different setting with different characters.
If you liked black flag you will like this game too.
Masterpiece game. Way even better than Black Flag. Ice breaking, marine life hunting, tons of islands. naval battles, storms and best of all, ASSASSINATIONS!
Ubisoft did many stupid decisions, one of them was release Rogue in the same day as Unity for last gen. The game is definitely amazing and I love the story. It made appreciate AC3 more.
Truly one of my favorite Assassins Creed games, playing through the lense of the Templars really opens your eyes to exactly how they see their work and it gives you a more in depth understanding of the constant battle between the Assassins and the Templars. It also connects directly to AC Unity (my favorite assassins creed game) and helped me understand why certain events happen.
This game is one of the best AC Games of the series in terms of story and overall gameplay is great.
i had no issues getting the game to work and needed to do no self patching or anything
the tempest boss fight was super easy for some reason back on PS3 that fight was well hard but this time i beat it in 1 try and had all 3 HP bars left aswell.
the whole game just feels great even when the game does have its moments where it tries to get you to climb up on stuff you never wanted to climb but that's what makes this game great and annoying aswell.
the whole idea of playing as the other side instead of as a Assassin is just great seem that's one of the things that people overlook seem the Assassins Order is not all good and the order has dome some really messed up stuff in the series and the story of the series.
the vice acting is great, music is great, ship combat is fantastic and this game is just simply a must play game in the AC Series.
I just wish we could play as a Templar way more in AC Games seem the Templar Order are just like the Assassins Order both are bad or just as bad as each other there's no Good or Bad in the series.
we need more games where you play as a Templar seem the series today is just nothing about Assassins.
Next Game is AC Unity that follows the events that took place at the end of this game.
One of the best AC stories overall and fun gameplay
This game left a mark on me.
It’s genuinely so damn crazy to me how this game is connected to so many other AC games such as Freedom Cry, Black Flag, Unity, AC 3 and the Ezio Trilogy.
Shay Patrick Cormac, has by far one of the most original story out of the whole Assassin’s Creed games.
“Uphold the principles of our order and all that for which we stand. Never share our secrets nor divulge the true nature of our work. Do so until death—whatever the cost.
This is my new creed.”
While most of the AC games are like killing templars and working with assassins—Shay’s story is like a 180 degree flip—working with the templars and killing the assassins.
It’s just an amazing turn.
Really, this is one of the best stories out of the whole games in my opinion.
The game is even super cinematic, combat and parkour feels so smooth and even graphics are amazing, I have no complaints about these aspects of the game at all. This is easily my favorite Assassin’s Creed game I’ve played.
The moral of the story is:
If you don’t like the idea of spending a lot of time on farming for materials for upgrades, this might not be the best game for you. It might not be ideal game to 100% either because there is just so much.
But if you’re like me and you’re in for the storyline…THIS ONE! THIS ONE! THIS ONE!!!!
“I am Shay Patrick Cormac. Templar of the Colonial … of the American rite. I am an older man now, and perhaps wiser. A war and a revolution have ended, and another is about to begin. May the father of understanding guide us all.”
A different take on the normal, Assassins are good and Templars are bad, story. Great naval combat, similar to black flag and the water graphics hold up well.
Shorter than the modern games, but still has all the typical collectables, a decent game in all fairness.
If you want to really play Black Flag but also want to wait for the BF remaster, play this game. It's essentially the same game but with a new coat of paint. Rogue came out the same year Unity did, the difference being whereas the latter came out on the New Gen of consoles, the former came out on last gen. Because of that, Rogue suffered from the "Ugly Step Child" syndrome of the two where it is clear Unity was the main attraction and Rogue was simply a way to repackage a really popular game (BF) and ship it out to the still massive player base on the older gen of consoles.
Be that as it may, you will feel like you're playing Black Flag AND a new game at the same time...so if you're worried it will feel too similiar, it can but also won't :P There is enough changes that (imo) keeps the game fresh and interesting.
With that in mind, it's important to emphasis that there is a great story in this game...unfortunately because of the development cycle, it doesn't really get the love it deserved. Even still, what we do have is engaging enough to warrant a purchase of this game. The gameplay loop is every bit as addicting as Black Flag's! & I think that is what matters most!
tl;dr It's almost exactly like Black Flag but fresh enough that you feel like you're playing a different game!
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue flips the script by putting you in the shoes of a Templar—Shay Patrick Cormac—during the Seven Years’ War. It serves as a narrative bridge between AC III and Black Flag, and connects directly to Unity. While the premise is intriguing and the setting enjoyable, the game often feels like a recycled experience rather than a full step forward.
What worked:
Unique perspective: Playing as a Templar offers a refreshing angle. Shay’s journey from Assassin to Templar is morally complex and provides new insight into the larger conflict.
Atmosphere and world design: The North Atlantic setting is beautiful, especially in winter. The mix of icy waters, forests, and settlements feels fresh and moody.
Naval gameplay: Borrowed from Black Flag, it’s still engaging. Ship combat and exploration remain some of the game’s strongest elements.
Tight runtime: The game doesn’t overstay its welcome and keeps a good pace overall.
What didn’t:
Recycled mechanics: Most gameplay systems are copied directly from Black Flag, with few improvements or innovations.
Short and underdeveloped story: While the premise is great, the character development is rushed, and Shay’s relationships (especially with former allies) could have been explored more deeply.
Outdated feel: Released between console generations, it feels technically dated compared to Unity, which launched the same year.
Lack of risk: Despite a bold story idea, the game plays it safe in structure and mission design.
Conclusion:
Assassin’s Creed: Rogue is a solid but unambitious entry. It offers a fresh narrative perspective and enjoyable naval exploration but struggles to stand on its own due to recycled content and a lack of depth. If you loved Black Flag and want more of that formula, it’s worth playing. Just don’t expect it to leave the same lasting impact.
Assassin's Creed Rogue – An Underrated Masterpiece
Assassin's Creed Rogue is a true gem in the franchise’s history that didn’t receive nearly as much attention as it deserved upon release. The game came out in 2014, yet it still holds up incredibly well today – in fact, in some aspects, it even outshines many modern titles in terms of technical execution and visual presentation.
The naval combat is absolutely breathtaking. Battles aboard the Morrigan are intense, cinematic, and brilliantly designed. Navigating through icy waters, firing cannons, and maneuvering the ship provides an immersive experience that few games can match. The sea has never felt so alive and detailed.
Land-based combat is just as impressive. Shay Patrick Cormac stands out not only for his compelling story but also for his unique fighting style. The fluid animations, the ability to seamlessly switch between weapons, and the fresh mechanics – like hunting down Assassins – breathe new life into the classic Assassin's Creed gameplay.
Visually, the game goes far beyond what you'd expect from a 2014 release. From the snowy forests and drifting icebergs to the richly detailed city of New York, the environments are stunning. The atmosphere is so captivating that I often found myself simply stopping to admire the view. It's hard to believe this game is over a decade old – it still looks better than many titles released today.
Assassin's Creed Rogue is a special entry in the series, and not just for longtime fans – it’s a must-play for anyone who appreciates well-crafted stories, smooth gameplay, and beautiful presentation. A criminally underrated classic that deserves to be revisited time and time again.
Ubisoft, thank you for this absolute perfection!
I cannot describe to you in words the feeling of going 1v15 against Redcoats and FLAWLESSING all of them.
I love this game but my favorite joke is calling it "Don't Make Me Do Stuff" Creed.
"Ezio, go across-a town and press-a 'X'."
Fantastic game, absolutely worth it.
I’m in heaven !
Assassin’s Creed Rogue is like a good rum: it burns at first, but then, what a delight !
I betray the Assassins, sail across icy seas, and take dives that aren’t always intentional …
In short, I’m a Templar with style, and honestly, it suits me just fine !
On top of that, this game is directly connected to Assassin’s Creed III, Black Flag, and Unity, and I love that !
We meet Achilles Davenport, who will later become Connor’s mentor in AC III, but here, we witness his downfall after the attack on his estate by Shay and the Templars .
We also see Haytham Kenway, the son of Edward Kenway, who becomes our leader within the Templars .
Charismatic and strategic, he plays a key role in our fight against the Assassins .
It’s a real pleasure to see him develop, especially knowing that he will later become the main antagonist of Assassin’s Creed III .
Later, in Unity, we discover that Shay assassinates Arno’s father in Versailles .
This scene is actually one of the last in Rogue and appears early in Unity, creating a perfect transition between the two games .
I really like the idea of playing a Templar, and what I love most is that the game keeps the same design and all the mechanics from Black Flag .
It’s almost a sequel, and honestly, it’s awesome !
The only thing that feels weird, even though I understand why they did it, is that this time, the Assassins are the “bad guys” and the Templars are the “good guys” .
It’s a bit unsettling when you’re used to seeing the Assassins as the heroes !
I wish this shift had been introduced differently, but it’s still a really interesting perspective to explore .
Great game overall, it takes everything black flag did and made it better. The ship combat was definitely my favourite (along with the final optional 4 legendary ship battles)
The game runs perfectly on the StemDeck OLED, almost a locked 60FPS (except in huge battles because of the smoke effects)
If you're going for a full achievement run there's few ones on there that are a slog (such as the naval campaign game, that takes IRL days to complete as most of it is set and forget).
Getting all the collectables which is typical for a ubisoft game is also pretty rough but overall it's all possible.
Definitely recommend this one if you can get it on a sale
(para referência eu joguei: assassin's creed, assassin's creed 2, assassin's creed brotherhood, assassin's creed revelations: assassin's creed 3 assassin's creed liberation, assassin's creed 4 black flag, assassin's creed freedom cry, assassin's creed rogue, assassin's creed unity, assassin's creed syndicate e por ultimo assassin's creed origins)
Most underrated installment in franchise.
Excellent Assassin's Creed with real good main protagonist, good side characters, and overall i think its great how they fit this into "american trilogy" and connected with AC 3, Black Flag and Unity. Gameplay is really good, cause its very similar to Black Flag, so if u liked Black Flag u will like this as well with slight innovations such as additional weapons that are good and new enemy types, i really like stalkers i think they are very interesting enemy type that are fun to defend from. Story in this game is good even though this is one of shortest games in series, cutscenes are good as usual like other ac's from this era. I don't have bad words for Rogue, i think they really did everything they could for development time they were given, and it was developed by Ubisoft Sofia which is not one of main studios, and marketing for this game was basically non existent cause all marketing went for Unity, and releasing Rogue on same day as next gen Unity, both priced 60 eur caused this game to go under the radar and be relatively forgotten. It had potential to be so much more, but nevertheless it's excellent game everyone should play.
The most underrated Assassin's Creed Games. I like this game, because we seen from templar perspective and how they motive. Ofc, Shay and Haytham is carrying the templar. I hope we get this type Assassin's Creed game again soon
Solid game. Not as good as black flag, but still good.
Imagine Black Flag without any of those terrible tailing missions. That's AC Rogue for you. The unique story helps compliment this game even further and Shay Cormac might just be my favorite protagonist in the entire series. An AC game that finally paints the templars in good light. Modern Ubisoft would never make a game like this. By FAR the best game out of the AC3 storyline.
Would betray the brotherhood again. May the father of understanding guide us.
10/10
Very great! i love the story and the characters.
naval combats fantastic but please nerf the storm fortress that guy is too hard.
gameplay is awesome
Having only played 2 other creed games in the past so far ( II and Syndicate) I had a great time with rouge, being on the shorter side with just under 40 hours for 93%. This seems like a good entry point into the series, it give you the basics of traversal, combat, and of course the seemingly endless collectables. The story is interesting but honestly not special but having finished it i am looking forward to unity as well as playing through AC III, both of which take place after as well as playing the acclaimed AC IV as a prequel to this one.
If i had to give a number as a newcomer to the series i would go with a 7, could have been longer and had a more griping story but at the same time if it was Valhalla length i definitely would have dropped off.
The game is really fun, even if it just brought back the old controls from ac black flag with slight tweaks. I loved seeing shay go from assassin to templar and how it shows why there were barely assassins in ac 3 alongside with Achilles limp, and seeing it from the other side was amazing and peak gaming in my honest opinion. I highly suggest if you love seeing the protagonist's journey.
Assassin’s Creed Rogue is the second amazing AC game I played ( The first one is Assassin’s Creed IV Black Flag )
The story is amazing. You play as Shay Cormac, a former Assassin who dares to question the Brotherhood's actions.
The graphics still look great, and the details hold up as well ( even in 2025 ) :)
Combat is great (not clunky like in some other modern AC games).
No annoying DRM slowing things down. No in-game shop trying to sell you XP boosts or gear. You get the full game, start to finish, that’s rare these days, and it makes a big difference.
In the end, Assassin’s Creed Rogue is one of the best AC games I’ve played :) Great story, fun gameplay, great graphics, and none of the modern Ubisoft anti-consumer garbage. Just a complete game that respects your time and money.
I recommend it with pleasure :)
10/10.
The story of this game wasn't really anything that blew my mind, it was a whole new idea and the first Assassin to go to the dark side which as per the troupe it's not a new thing but new for AC and that whole side of the game was really good compared to the Assassin side and Shay's reasoning for going rogue was an actual reason not just some half baked heroism shit and he was having doubt about it all and really didn't want to have to kill his friends which made it much better and engaging but apart from that the only real interesting part of the game was the location and time period that it was set in as per AC Timeline, it was almost like this game was a direct link between AC4, AC3 and AC Unity without really connecting anything but purely based on the characters, Shay's actions and things mentions along Shay's journey which were fleshed out in the other games. In 50 hours I did also manage to Plat the game which was really fun to do and apart from a few achievement wasn't very hard and in end game you can accumulate so much money that the things you have to spend money on to get certain achievements don't even matter anymore hahahaha
For those reasons I do recommend this game but it's also very skip-able without missing out on much apart from the ending where Shay does something quite important that links with AC Unity!
One of my least favourite AC Game ever. The sequence of escaping the Island is awesome and on of the best. But i give a middle finger to the story. To change the bad in the good the hero become full on bad. Stupid AF logic and this is a filler connector to Black Flag, Unity & AC3. Recommended for the AC Name!!!
As a transition between black flag and ac unity it's not a boring version. the graphic quality looks also standard in 2025. all mainline story is completed in 15 hours, in this game, you will experience how shay patrick comac become a templar from assassin, and hold the creed in his own heart. recommend it! May the father of understanding guide us.
Shay Cormac is the best character in this series, and why this game is the best
Assassin's Creed Rogue is a decent, if altogether unnecessary entry in the Assassin's Creed franchise.
Occupying a weird space between AC4 and AC3, it takes the gameplay and UI of the former, and has the same setting and many of the same characters of the latter. It also neatly ties into the start of Unity. The modern-day component is also very similar to AC4 with the exact same setting. It's also got a great soundtrack more reminiscent of the earlier games with its atmosphere which I was happy to hear.
Gameplay wise, it really is more of the same as AC4. The same simple and boring combat with the same animations but with a few new weapons such as a grenade launcher and the air rifle, but also the same great ship combat, with a few changes to your ship's arsenal. You take over and liberate forts and enemy headquarters similarly to AC3 and AC4. Compared to previous games, there's a much bigger focus on generating wealth and getting resources to renovate buildings and upgrade your ship, with a "bank" system, lots of outposts to raid, and regenerating supply convoy events.
The story, although short and ultimately pretty inconsequential for the rest of the games, was nice to experience. It was cool to see the fall of the American colonial assassin brotherhood pre-Connor, as well as the younger and older versions of some beloved characters (Achilles and Adéwalé, respectively). It was also cool to have a proper entry where you play as the templars, and witness the shift in the main character's allegiances. I didn't have any complaints about the pacing, or any awkward dialogue or performances, although I didn't find the playable character to be particularly likeable in any way at all. At surface level, it was nice.
However, I do have complaints about the core concept of being a templar and the way that's executed. Even though you're supposed to be playing as a templar, this doesn't translate into the gameplay like at all. Yes, you're fighting the assassins now, which do have some enemy types that would hide in bushes or wait on rooftops to surprise you, just as an asssassin would. But the rest? You're fighting an assassin "gang", which really is just a reskin of the same grunt, brute, scout, sniper, and officer enemy types that have been recycled since AC3, only orange this time. These assassin gangs have massive open hideouts in the middle of New York City waiting to be shut down, flying these massive flags with the assassins' symbol on them. It feels super weird and not at all how I'd imagine the assassins to operate. Your character is also doing everything an assassin would do: using hidden blades, parkouring and stealthing around. Nothing changes in the gameplay formula. Story-wise, this game also doesn't really engage with the templar philosophy at all, instead relying on showing us how the assassins are the bad guys. We know why the main character doesn't like the assassins (because they endanger innocent lives in their pursuit of precursor artifacts), but what does he think about the templar's ultimate goal of complete control of the human race? I certainly don't know. The lengths that this game goes to portray the assassins as the bad guys really seems cartoonish, with assassin gangsters openly attacking civilians and being involved in the slave trade
Unfortunately, this game also suffers a bit from excessive padding, with a truly absurd amount of collectibles and side activities which offered no meaningful rewards for me and felt more like doing chores than having fun. There are 200 (!!!) animus fragments scattered across the maps, and you have to do a lot of collecting to unlock some armour sets in the game (which don't even look that great to be honest). It also takes an absurd amount of time to complete all of the naval management missions, as well as get all the resources needed to upgrade your ship fully. All this, and the outfit with the hood shown in the cover art and all the promotional materials for this game, isn't even present in the game!
Overall though, this was a decent game to play through, and I would recommend you play it while beelining the main story, because the side stuff can get very mind-numbing.
Even with the monotonous ship game play, this game does a good job filling in the gaps of the story to make it all make more sense. But it is time to stop with the ship game play.
Assassin's Creed Rouge is a good game. A worthy follow up to Black Flag, and a nice ending for the Kenway games, filling the gap between IV and III. To summarize; this is Black Flag 2.0 in gameplay, and if you're not looking for anything else, this will satisfy that naval/exploration itch that 4 gave, while also bringing some quality of life improvements to gameplay.
Rouge was originally a 7th gen exclusive title, as Unity was to be the big next gen Assassin's Creed game on Ps4 and Xbox One. This is a shame for two reasons: 1. Unity was horrible on release in 2014, between gamebreaking bugs, issues with servers, and if you were on Xbox, the Lizard Squad attacks on Xbox live made the game utterly unplayable. 2. Rouge went mostly unnoticed by the mainstream gaming audience, as people were focused on next gen gaming around this time, and so it faded into obscurity. As time has passed however, I think more people have come to see how good of a game AC Rouge was.
The story is pretty forgetful. You play as Shay Cormac: an Assassin turned templar, to explain how the north american brotherhood was mostly destroyed between Black Flag and III, with Shay playing the role of an Anakin Skywalker figure to Achille's Obi Wan. The problem is that the game cannot seem to make up its mind on who exactly is the villain in this story. In some instances, Shay acts like a good guy, who's defending the world from the chaotic nature of the Assassins, and in other instances he's cartoonishly evil. I should also mention that once you're a templar, you're allowed to kill civilians, which takes away from the whole moral ambiguity of Rouge. The Assassins don't even really act like themselves in this game, mostly operating the same as templars in previous installments, with massive armies of goons to beat up, and fleets to battle in your ship. This wouldn't be a problem, if it wasn't for the fact that we know what most of these people are like in other titles, like Achilles and Adewale, who act like complete sociopathic lunatics in Rouge to justify Shay becoming a Templar, while Haythem Kenway is presented as a knight in shining armor, rather than the morally grey and somewhat devious antagonist from III. It would have made more sense to just make Shay a villain in this story, but it feels like Ubisoft was not willing to commit to any one idea for the story, so what you're left with is a bland story that cannot make up its mind on what it is trying to convey.
Rouge however, is not a game you should purchase for its story. It is entirely about the gameplay. As I said earlier, this is Black Flag 2.0. You have three places to explore: New York, in the older style of AC games llike Brotherhood, with a large city to explore and find collectibles, the Atlantic, which is the equivalent to the Caribbean in AC4, with ships to battle and forts to capture, and finally, the river valley: a blend of both, allowing hybrid land and naval exploration. I really enjoyed this diverse style, as it gave me different environments to work with and experiment in. You have all of the tools from 4 at your disposal, with new ones as well, including a grenade launcher, and a dart gun, which is a monumental improvement to the blowpipe. You'll be fighting a mix of british, and french soldiers, as well as assassin goons, who will sometimes have actual assassins with them, who can hide and attempt to stab you with a hidden blade. This is the only real time you'll feel like you're fighting the brotherhood. Also introduced is bounty hunters: very deadly enemies who will come after you for killing too many civilians.
Naval battles are just as fun as they were in IV. The Morrigan is about the same as the Jackdaw, with some slight upgrades. You have a puckle gun instead of swivels, which allows automatic fire on weakspots, making boarding much easier, burning oil instead of fire barrels, carronades instead of chainshot, and an ice ram which can break through ice, but does less damage than the Jackdaw ram. Your cannons also fire two volleys instead of one once fully upgraded, providing more firepower. Naval enemies are mostly the same from 4, with now assassins in the mix, who can now ram your ship and attempt to board you. Instead of legendary ship battles, you now have legendary battles in general, which pit you against regular ships and a legendary ship in what are actual naval engagements from the Seven Years War. The final one of these pits you against the most powerful ship in all of the AC games: the Stormfortress; a level 99 Man o War, which makes the legendary ships from IV look like a joke. You also get access to your fleet again, allowing you to send captured ships on missions for money.
There's a buttload of collectibles just like in 4, but more of these are useful and have a reason to be collected, rather than just those useless animus fragments. There's pieces of a sword, prosperity upgrades, parts of armor, and many more items littered across the game that give you a reason to explore every part of the map. Most of Rouge's enjoyment comes from it's typical Ubisoft side mission content and collectibles. and while it is not new or really even engaging, it is mindless fun to try and clean up all three maps.
AC Rouge is a good game. It is not original, the story is not good, and it is not much other than Black Flag more, but that is exactly why it is a solid experience. It knows that it is just IV with quality of life improvements, and if you liked Black Flag, you'll like Rouge.
this is the best assassins creed game, above black flag imo. so much ship combat and a decent story that fits well with the franchise.
This is my first Assassin's Creed game, and I'm loving it! There so much to explore, and so many things to do, I get lost in the world. The story is engaging. Now, excuse me. I need to chase some sea shanties!
is good gam the bug is coll xd
Assassin's Creed Rogue had the potential to be one of the best games in the series, even better than Black Flag in my opinion. It has a cool idea playing as a former Assassin turned Templar, which gives a fresh perspective. The story is interesting and shows that the Assassins aren’t always the good guys, but after finishing the game 100%, I get why it’s not as loved.
First off, the story is way too short. It only took me about 6 hours to finish the main story, which was disappointing. I thought it had a lot of potential, but it ends too quickly and is so rushed. I thought, “Okay, if the story is short, the side content must be fun,” but that’s not the case. Collecting everything and completing all the side missions took me an additional 32 hours, but most of it was just repetitive stuff like tavern missions, collecting stuff and Assassin interruptions. It felt more like a collectible hunting simulator than an actual Assassin's Creed game.
The collectibles themselves didn’t help much either. Sure, some items unlock outfits, but most of those outfits were poorly designed and didn’t look great. There are just so many unnecessary things to collect, like cave paintings. They felt like filler, adding nothing meaningful to the game.
There are a few improvements over Black Flag, like better performance and smoother gameplay, but the combat is still buggy and parkour feels awkward. The naval combat, which was great in Black Flag, is also weaker here. Ramming ships and firing cannons felt less impactful, even with a fully upgraded ship.
Overall, Assassin's Creed Rogue isn’t a terrible game, but it’s definitely not as good as it could’ve been. The story is too short, the side content is repetitive, and the gameplay isn’t as polished as it should be. There are some fun moments, but it doesn’t quite live up to its potential.
after 40 hours of this game and getting %100 i can say i loved it alot diffinatly recomending it
Great game! If you liked Black Flag, this is essentially more of the same, which isn't a negative for me. You have a new setting and a new perspective, playing as a Templar.
Also it doesn't crash every 5 minutes like Unity.
Assassins Creed Rogue is one of the most underrated entries in the franchise, often overshadowed by its bigger counterparts like Black Flag and Unity. However, playing through it again was an incredibly nostalgic experience, reminding me why this game deserves more appreciation.
Taking the Role as Shay Cormac, a former Assassin turned Templar, was a refreshing change of pace. The story, while on the shorter side, is compelling and provides a unique perspective on the Assassins-Templar conflict. Bit what was truly elevates this game is everything else--the naval combat, world exploration, and side activities are just as engaging as Black Flag, with a colder, North Atlantic setting that adds a distinct atmosphere. The inclusion of New York as an explorable city was a great touch, making the world feel more connected.
My Journey to 100% syncronization and unlocking every achievement was both rewarding and tedious. Collectibles, legendary ship battles, and renovating every settlement became a time consuming task, but none of that took away from my enjoyment. The gameplay was so immersive that even the more repetitive aspects never felt like a chore--just a challenge i wanted to conquer.
Rogue perfectly blends the best elements of the classic Assassins Creed formula, and its a shame it never got the recognition it deserved. If you are a fan of the older AC games or just looking for an adventure packed experience, i highly recommend giving it a chance.
Ubisoft has lost their spotlight throughout these years. As a kid AC series was always dear and close to my heart. AC Rogue may not be the best AC game out there but its the most unique game of the series and is a must try. I want more Templar's perspective. Templars are actually really cool and would love to know more about their side.
Very good game to play and enojy in story mode and exploring sea and river valey
I hope you like ship combat, because this is 60% that.
Game gives you exactly what you'd expect from the classic AC experience.
Protagonists accent can be a bit grating at times though.
As a Canadian I really enjoyed being able to explore the colonial Maritimes
MOST UNDERRATED GAME FROM SERIES!!!!
Decided to play all AC games, started from AC 1 and went till Syndicate. Will be honest, couple of them are top but the story in AC : Rogue is something different, so many crossovers with main AC characters. The ending tho... Idk as for me it stayed in Unity's shadow however I strongly recommend playing this before Unity and you will see why. Enjoy!
Assassin’s Creed Rogue: A Short but Awesome Game
Assassin’s Creed Rogue is one of the best games in the series. Instead of being an Assassin, you play as Shay Cormac, who becomes a Templar. It’s really cool to see the story from the other side, and it makes you think differently about the whole Assassin-Templar fight.
The game has great naval battles, fun combat, and a beautiful world with icy waters and snowy cities. Shay’s story is interesting, and his journey feels real.
The only bad part? It’s too short. Just when you’re really getting into it, the game ends. But even though it’s short, it’s super fun and definitely worth playing.
10/10
don't like the "BETRAYAL" story line. gameplay is similar to AC4BF with some new parkour and weapons.
3/5
Sh!t game with crap story buggy platforming, combat Is just spam 3 buttons until fighting stops the only dam good thing is the ships and even that half assed.
AC Rogue caps off the boat themed gameplay introduced in AC3 and iterated on in AC Black flag. While the innovations in gameplay for this entry are negligible, the theme of playing from the perspective of a Templar is a departure from the classic Templar focused gameplay and make it a solid recommendation for fans of older style AC games.

This game never gets old and the gameplay is different from Assassin's Creed Black Flag. I know it seems useless to have to specify it, but I know that there are many out there who have avoided buying it because they fear repetitiveness and instead Ubisoft has really tried not to repeat it thanks to the division into multiple maps, one of which is just a city, not very big to tell the truth, but intelligently enriched with hitmen ready to attack you as soon as you hear whispers. Also, being a map set in a cold world, you can't stay in the water for long because you risk freezing to death. For the rest, I hate the protagonist because in a childish way he becomes part of the order, but this didn't stop me from having fun anyway and the boardings have a different flavor compared to Black Flag, for better or for worse. Another flaw that comes to mind is that discovering the Abstergo faction is not a twist, you know it from the first game onwards, I thought it was obvious and instead Ubisoft still declares it to you with all the pathos in the world.
IT:

8.7/10 game, remove the launcher and voilà it'll be très très très bon
10 out of 10. I really enjoyed this one. The ending was a great surprise. I had started play AC Games with Unity in France and the ending of this game shows what happened to her father in that game. Amazing storytelling and good game length. Not too long.
I really enjoyed the gameplay and the story from Rogue. Continuing off of the mechanics of Black Flag, I found the game did a great job at providing the stuff you used to have from Black Flag earlier. One thing I can definitely love is the fact that the unmarked islands for fragments and chests have boats so you don't have to swim back to your ship Every Single Time.
I did enjoy sailing in warm and cold climates while also freely traversing New York as well.
The story felt great to watch unfold if you are familiar with Altiar, Ezio, Connor, and Edward's stories. It is definitely worth playing if you enjoy the franchise and the story in between Black Flag and 3.
