I just played the campaign solo on normal, there is more to do and the game also encourages replaying, but replaying isn't something I do unless I like something a lot. If you like tower defense, you may enjoy this game. I know others have said this game reminded them of Diablo, I can see that.
One of the greatest games I've played in a long long time. I needed this. Thx devs for this savage game!
If the host pauses the game during co-op, the teammate can just kill every enemy whilst they're standing still.
10/10 would exploit again!
Good:
1. 25 total towers with 5 different categories.
2. 3 Characters with somewhat unique playstyes.
3. Adjustable difficulty settings.
4. Quests and challenges make replaying each level more interesting.
Bad:
1. Game crashed few times on one level.
2. Limited gear progression for your character.
3. Overall balancing is good, but some towers have unique and meaningful upgrades and some have very weak and almost useless.
Overall I would give this game a 7 or 8. Solid tower defense.
Fun, simple tower defense with a fair bit of depth after you open the harder difficulty tiers.
No matter what, wont work with Keyboard&Mouse.
If you like tower defense games with a bit of Diablo-style gameplay, this game is for you. It is a little old and outdated in terms of interface and design; however, it is fun to play with other players. There are many difficulties and custom maps. If you get this game at a discount, you will not regret it.

9.5/10 coop, 7.5/10 solo. I've many hours played outside of Steam as well. Fantastic tower defense & action RPG hybrid that allows you to customize your experience by focusing on towers ("traps"), or your hero, or both. There are really fun possibilities like tanking or freezing enemies on top of ground traps or creating synergies between your traps and hero skills. Better with coop as many maps are easier with 2 people covering 2 sides of the map and focusing on different damage types.
Pros:
- Many viable playstyles and trap combos
- Good sound design
- Some unique traps/towers I've not seen in other games before
- You have lot of control over your hero's progression through skills & gear
- Game speed and text scaling options available
- Traps can't be destroyed, so you don't have to worry about keeping them alive or repairing them like in Orcs Must Die or Dungeon Defenders
- Addictive
- One of the best coop games I've ever played. Great for a coop partner who isn't a hardcore gamer, but there's enough to keep them entertained if they are
- $1.99 is a great deal for this when it's on sale
Cons:
- Only 3 heroes, though they do each have a number of directions they can go in
- You can't fully choose where to put traps, but this becomes less of an issue as you enable and buy upgrades for them since they become very strong. At least the locations are always in the enemy lanes and there are usually far more than you'll actually use
- No matter what Steam controller settings you use, the game will always only launch with controller defaulted until you unplug it
A well made tower defense game with a hero to level up. Great mix indeed.
Very relaxing game which is pretty fun if you play with friends.
Unfortunately, there aren't many players online but you will have a great time if you play it with friends.

Very generic Tower Defense coupled with a fairly jank action rpg experience. Compared to TIAoVH, much worse game. UI is absolutely horrid for controller. You can't hotswap to a controller from mouse & keyboard either, gotta fully restart the game.
It's like Orcs Must Die if it was isometric so you can't aim for headshots, your movement and attack are bound to the same key so you can accidentally move towards enemies, and the trap building is significantly more restricted and boring. I feel like I've played better tower defenses in Warcraft 3 custom maps.
I very much need to finish all the levels, however I found it very enjoyable for a tower defense hack and slash. My friend I either gifted or convinced to buy this was a little mixed and had some issues getting it to load a level.
I would compare it to diablo and sanctum 2, but I feel like champions of norath or baldurs gate dark alliance fits the overall aesthetic and game play more.

ABSOLUTE BANGER!!
Honestly can say that this is definitvely One of the Games of All Time
This game really scratches that "Orcs Must Die" itch for which I decided to get it. There are tons of different traps, a satisfying leveling system, different upgrades (some unique and some stacking with other upgrades) which really makes you feel like you both have a choice and also that you CAN throw money at a trap to make it stronger. Enemies get crazy strong with different abilities that make it trickier to deal with them (for example disabling traps or buffing other enemies). It's standard stuff for this genre of game but it does it very well. After one playthrough I was kind of burnt out but it definitely deserved one, especially if you get it with the Van Helsing bundle for cheap.
an incredible mix of tower defense and action looter. I'm not sure why not many people have made these kinda game it flows so well. Just would like more content and co op is a massive plus. Grab it on a sale if you enjoy tower defense you will be shocked by how well it is.

Possibly a premature review at only 1.6 hours, but damn this is the most interesting tower defense I've played. It's like a mix of Diablo and TD. (I don't like Diablo tho.) Fun to play. Kind of wish I bought it at full price instead of $2 to support the developer.
Kind of forgot what 2010s games look like, feels like the graphics belong in the 90s or early 2000s - but in a charming way.
Very cool and very hard to get 3 stars all missions all 4 difficulties. Lots of upgrades, lots of enemies.
A magnificent blend of diablo style rpg elements and tower defense. Similar to games like sanctum, but with more in depth character development part that includes talent trees for both traps and your character, crafting, equipping, shopping, co-op and more.
I wish i knew the game was this good when it released so i could have supported it back then.
Fills me with sadness that due to its niche nature it was dropped before even DLCs could have been released for it.
Still, functional, fun and if you wanna max it out, it easily cover 20-40 hours of gameplay.
