Yuck.

Timed sequences, obscure item combinations, find the small objects, "try to catch the globules in zero gravity" mini-game, try to figure out - by trial and error - what to do with the retro rockets (AFTER guessing the random item combination that enables one of them to work) to avoid crash landing on the moon and dying, ..., ...

Horrible inventory system (it is possible to BLOCK ALL GAME PROGRESS if you already have three of a certain object, and pick up a fourth one - you can't carry more than three, and you can't put the fourth one down, so you're stuck holding it, and if you need a DIFFERENT item in order to make progress, then you have to quit, and re-start from your last saved game [you DID make regular saves along the way, right? RIGHT? 'cuz the game doesn't make ANY for you, so unless you have been saving regularly, just start FROM THE BEGINNING[).

Not even worth the ninety-nine cents I spent on it.

Good game. Some of the actions a bit random, so need a walkthrough or loads of trial and error, but overall a good and interesting story with lots of possibilities.

In my opinion one of the Best Point & Click games with great gameplay and story. Great inventory and combination system.

This is the greatest adventure game that was ever made. It's not mere nostalgia speaking, but even after replaying this game after many years, I can safely say that this game alone stands out amongst most other adventure games.

It has a fantastical setting, logical puzzles that can be inferred, it comes with the magic of discovering and exploring ruins of a foreign, alien civilization, learning their language and finding out more about them. Ironically enough, the only game I could recommend which comes close to what this game had to offer is a game called Outer Wilds.

This is an absolute gem and the price is more than worth it.

Nice story based on Michel Ardan's voyages.
The game play is simple, but not always intuitive.
Some puzzle demand more thinking and intuitions then others.

Voyage: Journey to the Moon is a title that deserved more popularity than it had gotten in my opinion. This is probably one of the reasons the game never received its sequel which is in my opinion a big shame, even although at the end of the game you are given a small teaser for it.

Graphics: 7.5 / 10
- The game does look very beautiful from time to time, whilst other times it looks alright. There we're quite a decent amount of details put into certain parts of both the map and items. It is obvious the game was polished quite a lot considering its current state and the fact it first came out in 2005.

Story: 7.5 / 10
- Scary, fun and intriguing for the most part. Worst part of it was at the very start of the game where there were a few small loopholes as well as the fact that at one point you get into a "react or die" situation without any instructions, which is not that bad really, as the game allows you to lose a life in many different scenarios (including falling into an empty elevator shaft because you forgot to call the elevator first) but without any penalty. After death, you are not brought back to the menu or loaded in from the last save, but rather just a moment before fatal decision was made. However, game gets a lot better once you land on the moon.
On the way you learn about plant and alien life, as well as social organisation of the aliens, their language, writing and technology and their relations with the human kind. You may also reach earth by not doing everything there is to do, and thus skipping something or doing it a different way. I personally found the story to be quite short, peaking up to 6.8 hours on record from start to completion with all the time taken to solve the puzzles on the way but overall, I loved it.

Puzzles: 8 / 10
- I found puzzles not to be too hard, although they do have a small difficulty curve as you progress, meaning they get harder and harder. This is good because I believe the game would be enjoyable to both a casual gamer and those in for a quick challenge. It is obvious the puzzles are made by a human rather than an inhabitant of the moon and should demand an average logic skill to beat. They blend into the story perfectly as no puzzle is there just for the sake of its existence but rather, everything has a meaning. They are not repetitive either, so you should not feel bored during the game.

Sound: 7 / 10
- The strong point of the sound is definitely its soundtrack. Main menu music has a really pleasant and suitable vibe for the type of game. Voice acting is fine and so are other general sounds, although they are nothing to point your finger at.

Fun factor: 8 / 10
- Recommended!
- I had fun and recommend this game, especially if you want something more challenging then normal puzzle games.

Very good game, how did I miss it when it came out?

Some of the later puzzles were almost impossible without a walktrough and the game crashed few times while alt-tabbing.

This. Game. Is. Amazing !

Kind of Escape Room experience. but on a much larger scale. Plenty of non trivial riddles and challenges, and - what surprised me most - non-linear gameplay ! Granted - no point in playing it again once you're done, but knowing there were other ways to make was very surprising. Not a typical point-n-click game. Witty, humorous and - just funny at times. Graphic is not the most part of the game, but then - at least it doesn't drag you away from the core of the game. In fact it brought memories of the old (and I mean '90s OLD) school games ;) like "Putt - Putt" for example...

All in all - if you're a fan of escape rooms - you will not leave disappointed... Definitelly not "one hour of clicking everywhere" kind of game.

I liked the game and concept at first, but as i got further and further into the game i found the puzzles got more and more illogical and , basically weird. Things like opening a hatch, in space, without breathing apparatus is just one example of the kind of 'lets ignore physics and logical reasoning and just do something random' kind of puzzle approach. I found myself using walk-throughs more and more just to get past frustrating puzzles or illogical elements. I ended up losing interest in completing the game.

This is a puzzle-adventure made in 2005, and while it's admittedly somewhat of it's time, it's got lots of quality-of-life features that I appreciate, like: Instant reload if you die, inventory screen that describes your items decently, a button to remind you of what your current tasks are, and different colours for different users playing through the game.
There also appear to be multiple ways to get through multiple sections of the game.
By myself this took 12 hours, but I think anyone not fussing with item collection, or with someone to bounce ideas off should get through it much more quickly.
If you think you'd appreciate Jules Verne-inspired gameplay, and like puzzle-adventures, then I'd bet you'd like this.

I found Voyage incredibly difficult - one of the most complicated point n' clicks I've ever played. It stands out by allowing the player to complete pretty much every puzzle in multiple different ways and in a non-linear manner, i. e. independently from one another. At the very beginning of the game I had a chance to solve a puzzle which turns out was supposed to be solved only at the very very end. I think this freedom of choice combined with a lack of clear hints on what you're supposed to do at a given point is what makes Voyage so difficult.

Story-wise it's nothing spectacular but it's enjoyable nonetheless, especially if you like science fiction. However, I have to say that to fully have a good time playing I had to dumb down myself and ignore my scientific knowledge about physics and the moon. It's not a very nice thing to have to do, but for those of us with scientific minds dumbing down ourselves to play this is probably going to be inevitable, because what this adventure offers you is not a credible science fiction story. But as I said it can surely be fun, so thumbs up.

Personally I love this game. Love the story, the music, everything. Yes the graphics are, well, from 2005. But it doesn't bother me that much. It suits the atmosphere of a fantastical, 19th century fiction.

I would reccommend to Myst fans, though it differs a bit from the Myst games. Overall I think it's a little less obtuse than Myst because it's clear what your goal is and what you need to achieve it. There are multiple ways to solve situations. So it's easier, being a lot more casual, however some of the puzzles are quite difficult.

One thing that's kind of unique here is the inventory system. You can have many many items which you need to try and combine in different ways. This can be both fun and frustrating. It's a lot of "Which item goes here?" "What does this combination do?". It's unlike Myst, and also unlike other puzzle games featuring an inventory because not all the items are important, or will be absolutely necesary. Overall I really liked it. I couldn't get it to run on windows 10 at first, so you might want to check the forum for help if you have issues as well.

I got this game with a badge coupon for 90% discount. Saw how old it was but thought "o well might as well check it out"
And ooh boy...did I get sucked in. I am allready a big fan of point n click adventures, and this is a true classic. I have to admit i got impatient at times, not taking enough time to read back in my log.

Some parts I found quite hard. I did not finish it without a lot of dying and trial and error. And also peeking a walkthrough from time to time. Usually the result of that was me thinking: , ahh yeh, this makes sense, i should have thought about that. At 1 occassion i found a mistake. I got so frustrated , that eventually a walkthrough helped me. Only way i could have maybe solved this was by randomly trying combinations. I iwll describe the issue below with a spoiler alert. Altho not knowing is rather a spoiler in this case;)
At some point you have to call out for the aliens outside using an organ. You have to push the button in a certain order to get the aliens moving. One alien , according to the instructions should be called with first the blue and then red button. This is not true! This must be first purple and then red!

The story is very cool, the variation of puzzles too. It really felt like learning a new language;) Also the reward for completing parts is nice. You unlock parts of the story with that.

Abolutely recommened for point n click lovers....

....and Jules Verne lovers. After all, the story is about his book. And since he is a brilliant writer, that alone makes playing this game worthwhile.

Glad I managed to land safely on earth again and glad I discovered this adventure.

I really wanted to like this game. But, one of the main reasons I play adventure games is that I don't want to have to deal with the pressure of fast action or quick reflexes. However, not long into the game, you suddenly realize that it's getting a bit difficult to breathe, and a timer starts for you to figure out how to increase the oxygen level in your little capsule. Inevitably, the timer runs out before you find the right action, and your tragic death is announced. Of course, the timer resets, and you have another go at it, until you meet your second untimely death, then your third, or however many tries it takes before you discover (or look up) how to get past the barrier.

Then, when you get to the moon, there are these large crevasses to cross by jumping just the right amount in the moon's low gravity. Now, "just the right amount" is determined by a needle that is moving up and down. If you hit the key when the needle is in the green region, you make it across. If not, the announcer is back with another enthusiastic heralding of your untimely death. It's terribly demoralizing.

What's worse, there is some bug that prevents the menu from displaying properly so that you can't always save (or exit!) the game reliably once you've crossed some annoying hurdle.

After a couple of hours, I found the game too frustrating to continue, which is a shame, because the story and graphics seemed promising.

I decided to review this classic point and click adventure game called Jules Verne's Journey to the Center of the Moon. This game is a classic point and click adventure. This is not the first game i played from "Adventure Company". Most of their games are very stable, and there are not many problems with them. This game is quite a fun puzzler adventure. Note that it says the developer and publisher is by Microids. This is consider a rerelease of the original game that came out very early in 2000's by adventure company.


This is not the usual games i play, but i still found it enjoyable. Too bad you cannot post screenshots of it on steam (without some difficulty). Note that the game is not like funny point and click games. This game takes itself more serious and follows the spirited version of one of the actual book series of Jules Verne. If you never read any of his books, i consider doing it as i consider him one of the first writers of mainstream sci fi books. He also wrote Journey to the Center of the Earth and 10,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

If you never read his books, i recommend this game if you like point and click games. This is not a HOG, but it does have some scenes with HOG related things.

Voyage : Journey to the moon is a Point and Click game that tell us a story about a man that go to the moon, and must find a way on the moon to get back to the earth.

For me, this game has a great animation and gameplay. The puzzle is good but it needs high creativity and thinking that makes the puzzle too hard sometimes. I can finish this game earlier than I expected because I searched for walkthrough lol. I stuck at many points because the puzzle needs some rollback about what you saw earlier.

Anyway, this is a good game. Recommend this game for someone who likes science fiction story and point and click adventure game. (For my playtime, my game crashed when I almost finished the game and I didn't save the game for a 5 hours of gameplay and so my playtime increased a lot orz )

Great game, But quite annoying to set up on WIndows 7 - Requires right-clicking the Game.exe and adjusting combatibility mode to Windows XP. For anyone interested in point-and-click adventure games I do recommend getting it though, especially because it is quite cheap with a coupon.

I played this game back in 2006 I think and am very happy to see it on Steam since I lost my old copy of the game. I found the puzzles actually very fun and the entire game is put together well with 360 degree views of certain areas in a good amount of detail, especially for a game from 2005. There is only a couple timed puzzles, though dying in the them does nothing except cause a small cutscene which is easily skippable - also being able to save at any point in the game is useful. The inventory system is easy to use, though organising it can be a little tedious. Also, there is multiple ways of solving most things, and some puzzles aren't even required to do until later in the game - (You might even solve a puzzle without knowing what it's for until later!)

Overall, A very good point-and-click puzzle-adventure game.

For anyone who can't solve puzzles and requires a walkthough there is a couple on the internet, and I have written my own in the Steam 'Guides' page if you are interested, it also explains how to set up the game on Windows 7, and it might also work for 8. (But don't hold me against it if it doesn't...)

I've already played this game long long time ago, before Steam was created and, I recalled it as a good game.
What I forgot is that this is one of the hardest adventure games I've ever played.
Lot of imagination behind this game and, lots of headaches trying to progress in it.
