Game freeze randomly processing end turns on at least third PC I installed this crap.
Many workshop items claim to fix it. None did.
Development is gone to more profitable fields.

Replayability

I love this type of games and this one in particular. Ever since the first version came I have kept returning
to it and still find it just as playable as I did then. Of course the remake has improved it a lot.
I enjoy it very much and can easily get lost for hours on end before forcing myself to save and quit to continue another day.
The many races with their different abilities in addition to the option of customizing your own race from
scratch is a great feature. The various difficulty levels and the good AI added to the combination makes the
re-playability great.

Of all the Iterations of the MoO I like this one the best. It has good production values and it's just fun. I wish it had been more successful, it could have been a lot more. Grab it on sale, have fun. Has mods if you want to expand it.

I want to like it. But it has a bug, which makes any game enjoyment a disappointment.

The game gets stuck after 50 to 60 turns in the Processing Turn Bug.
The bug is around since the game came out and was never officially fixed.

There is the "unofficial patch mod" around, which claims to improve the situation among other things.
But it still happens.

The game is not really playable because of it.

If you liked MOO2, you'll probably like this. It's basically a modern rebuild of the game.
Space combat isn't turn-based, which is a shame (pausable real-time) but otherwise fine.
I wouldn't pay full price for it, but it's a decent game if you're a fan of the genre.

absolutely BONKERS!!! I've put 400+ in the game. You can micro manage as much as needed or as little as possible. Great way to kill a months worth time.

Real easy to pick up; the music and artwork make this more of a chill conquest game that doesn't get frustrating.

Be cautious of this version. If you use OneDrive there is a very good chance the game will crash every time it autosaves. Wargaming is aware and they are not going to fix it. If you spend over 2 hours trying to troubleshoot Steam will deny any refund. Customer service from Wargaming was very poor. But they were polite when the told me to go away and bother Microsoft..yeah..not impressed at all.

Funny little game, janky and not exactly overflowing with QoL features, but still fun for a few days play. Frequently on sale with DLC for 50% or more, and at this price point only I can recommend it.

Its 9 years old so the chances its getting patched to fix irritating features with i.e. autobuild AI etc are pretty slim, but the mod scene is apparently quite vibrant still, so try that.

Game no longer working freezes during processing turn 136 turns in and even if you go back to previous turns it will still fail at same point after.

A solid formula backed up by a decent graphics engine. I liked this as much or more than MoO2. My first game I was out-paced by the sakkara on default settings for a short match. I did what any normal 4x player might and played a few hundred turns of fast exploration over a few restarts until I thought I could get a handle on it. It's a decent recommendation for anybody who has played any of the previous MoO games. I think it is equally the upgrade on the original that any Civilization game has been and as fun as the reboot of Master of Magic two years ago.

I played the original MOO series when they first came out, and for nostalgia reasons I bought this. This is a re-skinned version of the original MOO 2. The vanilla version is mediocre and buggy. Using the Unofficial patch solves most of these problems, making it worth getting. MOO is the granddaddy of the 4X genre, so if you like them you should like this one.

Well made update to MOO 2

One of my other favorite time wasting games, after Civ V, for when I want to not think too much, just play and do it in space.

An old remastering of an even older classic space empire strategy game that I used to play when I was a kid. Outside of nostalgia factor, I don't know how much this holds up to other empire strategy games. Worst thing I can say about it is it relies too heavily on war mechanics, compared to something like Civilization.

Upgraded version of MOO2

I want to say positive things but I'm quite jaded with the reoccurring issue of "processing the next turn" no matter what I tried such as using Unofficial Patch, 5x, etc..
My latest games, I got this at turn 1 for one and turn 40+ for another.
I gave up completely and will play MOO2 instead despite the age.

A star studded voice cast couldn't save this piece of crap, there is nothing original or appealing about this game, nothing that makes it stand out, medeocrity is baked in, the only strong point is it seems to be polished

this is what happens when you throw a whole bunch of money at something and it still sucks.

It's a very very basic game with bugs and it doesn't look it will get updated of fixed.

This game is awsome great graphics ... easy to learn ... lots of hours of play time ...

MOO:CTS is 2016 version of predecessor 1990's 4x turn based space sci-fi classic MOO2 which i enjoyed as a teenager and again in adulthood.

MoO:CTS (2016) is a good game. The animations, the voice acting, gameplay are good, 4x Turn based strategy game fare. The strategy elements are ok, lots of planet management and ship movements. Combat in space is simple - I usually did better from auto-resolve than from conducting my own battles - maybe thats a reflection of my skills haha. The civs are a bit different but game fundamentally not different for each of them... colonise planets, research tech, upgrade ships, out produce rivals and dominate on your chosen victory path.

The Antarans are quite scary and get increasingly challenging. Have a bigger, better fleet or lose your playthrough.

Played through a couple times and came back many years later for another run. Nostalgia.

If you want a real time strategy game of a similar theme, try "Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion" or the sequal.

Fun game

It's got issues sure, but there are mods to help with a lot of it. Yeah it's not the original, but that's a good thing, cause it is its own thing. You'll either like it, or not.
