The soundtrack is INSANE
After playing the whole four episodes, I am still not clear what is it all about. It become less and less fun and more confusing.
Such a beautiful game, very very beautiful
Took a while to get used to the pixellation, but once past that the game is really engaging and very enjoyable.
Nice atmosphere, vintage 100%
A pretty straightforward point and click adventure game. Some of the puzzles are a little iffy but nothing so difficult as to cause me to use a guide. It has some interesting vibes and had a nostalgia factor for me who played these in their original flash game form.
Nothing spectacular, but worth the low sale price.
Intriguing story and nice atmosphere. Suggested.

The Last Door is the story of Jeremiah Devitt, who after receiving a letter from his old school friend, Anthony Beechworth, travels to his old friends’ home only to find it in disarray and Anthony dead by his own hand. This opens up several new questions especially regarding the small secret study-group Devitt and Bechworth were part of as students. But the journey to recover the past and answers to his friend’s death proves to be dangerous and full of terrors…
The Last Door is a point-and-klick adventure of the modern persuasion, meaning it is rather easy to handle since all the interactions are decided on by the mouse courser. The art stile is one of very limited pixels, but the developers managed it masterful to convey emotion and atmosphere with this reduces art stile. The story is told in four episodes (because it was financed that way), but those are interwoven very well. Many puzzles are nice and understandable but there are some that were too far out there for me. Alos some the so called “secrets”, especially in Episode four, are rather annoying since they not only depend of certain conditions being met (for example not having a light source yet in a certain place) but also seem to activate at random, which leads to rather long waiting times with the (sound) event not triggering…
The Last Door is a cosmic horror story, if you like Lovecraftian horror it should be right down your ally. But be aware that it is not completed with the game. There is a second part you need to play to see all of it.
The last door is an incredible game, the story is haunting with a real sense of mystery that pulls you in from the start, the pixel art is simple but beautiful, its the kind of game that sticks with you long after you finish it this is a must play truly a masterpiece.
I was looking for a spooky game, but not a horror game, I don't like playing horror games, but would like to play something spooky for the spooky season last month, and I like supernatural elements, a friend suggested this game and the sequel, and lucky for me, I was able to grab those on Steam Scream Fest for fantastic price, and started playing this, and really enjoyed this and the level of spookiness is perfect for someone like me that can't play horror games, there are some sinister stuff, supernatural element, and spookiness/unsettleness in the game but not intense, which is exactly what I was looking for. I look forward to playing the sequel, but got 2 more achievements to grind for to 100% this before starting the sequel.
I was torn whether to give this game a recommendation or not. While it is definitely very impressive at first, the game often favours style over substance, focusing on jump scares, cliched occult imagery and atmospheric music, leaving the plot underdeveloped and muddled, in my opinion. I wouldn't replay the game, as there isn't enough there - I give it 6/10.
Quite a delightful and Lovecraftian game. It was similar, to me, to my playing of The Case of the Golden Idol--something I had been itching to find a similar game of with a more supernatural/Lovecraftian edge to it. At times, the puzzles were a tad frustrating (mainly in the last couple chapters) as many times it requires you to interact several times with an object. The game overall was spooky without being overwhelmingly so (though I was definitely jump scared several times!). I really enjoyed the game, story, mechanics, and puzzles.
I only played the first few chapters of this game back when it was still a flash game. I'm glad i get to play it in full now. Every now and again I get a bit nostalgic for the kind of point and click adventure games I played as a kid, and games like this are a real treat, because they capture the feel of those old games.
The sound design is the Last Door games is really quite good, very atmospheric and spooky.
as a huge blasphemous fan who also loves horror games and point & click adventures this was a very obvious buy for me
and all "the game kitchen" fangirling aside, its also a very good game. i think its quite impressive how much atmosphere they created with such a little amount of pixels, and on top of that you get once again amazing music in the background

Knocking out horror games on Halloween & this has it all... secret societies, vampires, beautiful muses, crazy geniuses, odd gravediggers, old timey guys, and it was fun to explore! I initially looked at the blurry pixels and thought I wouldn't be into the game as I could barely see it, but it works well enough and allows you to put your own imaginative details on the cast. The music is a definite high point, this classical score adds drama and beauty to every scene. I did a chapter per evening, and look forward to continuing in the part 2.
Un gran juego gracias a su magnífico ambiente y lo sugerente de la trama. La banda sonora de Viola es espeluznante y poética al mismo tiempo, lo que hace la experiencia aún más completa. La mecánica es muy sencilla y la recreación del estilo píxel está muy conseguida. Y todos estos aspectos sobresaliente se conjugan con una historia con una narrativa muy satisfactoria. Muy recomendable para los amantes del terror decimonónico y el horror cósmico, un buen híbrido entre las historias de Stoker, Poe y Stevenson y las de Lovecraft y Hodgson. Mil gracias a sus creadores.
Beat all 4 episodes in a few hours. Very much enjoyed it and was even scary a few times. I feel like the story is a tad thin and rather linear, but that doesn't bug me if it's a decent story and I think this qualifies. Picked it up for a few bucks, was not disappointed. Looking forward to sequel.

For anyone who's a fan of old school flash point and click games with pixel art style, this one is a great game to play! It has a very interesting, mysterious story that keeps you hooked until the end, with great elements of cosmic and gothic horror that generate some genuinely creepy scenes. It's very atmospheric. The writing is really good. The soundtrack is great! Unfolding the mystery behind it all is really fun and at times, even if the puzzles are not that difficult to find out. Can't wait to play the second season, had a great time playing this.

Puzzles were not too difficult or moon-logic which is a nice change of pace. Easily the best part of the game was the sound design.
Very Lovecraftian, very good
Begins with a triggering unskippable scene where a playable character unalives. Game is kind of meh.
I first played The Last Door series years ago, and I still fire it up to replay, wishing that every time was the first time all over again. The sound design and music, the deceptively simplistic graphics, the plot that knits itself into a map of questions and answers and more questions --- I've never experienced another game quite like it, let alone one that can top it. Believe you me, I'm still looking.
Enjoyable point-and-click adventure with suspenseful storytelling and a wonderfully spooky atmosphere (great music and sound effects). Downsides are very primitive graphics and no voice acting. It also ends on a cliffhanger, so you will need to buy Season 2 to get closure. If you like Lovecraft-style horror, this should do the trick. 7.5 out of 10.
