THE WORST GAME I HAVE EVER SEEN, WELL I KNOW THAT ITS AN OLD GAME, BUT ANYWAYS PEOPLE WHO MADE THIS GAME ARE COMPLETE ASSHOLES
The game actually has a great story. It is literally reflected in the title. I love it so much, it is a game of my childhood. Also, the game has some unique mechanics, such as graffiti writing and others. Strongly recommend it to anyone who loves a quality storytelling! It's a gem of indie game development.
Cant stop playing it
Playing this game on PS2 since 2009 shi hit hard such a precious gems in my life thanks for porting it to steam ,Yall better drop getting up2
Accidentally found out that they made an Eckō game. It was a good 2000’s throwback for sure.
Unplayable. Was looking forward to doing a playthrough again but the controller doesn't work properly. the buttons are all wrong and the mouse and keyboard movements suck. the mouse moves SO fast and there's no sensitivity options. Wish i didn't wait so long to try it out I'd get my refund lol
The PC version is buggy, and the camera controls are all over the place. It was better on the Xbox. I actually got far in the game. I haven't played this game in nearly 20 years, and it's sad that it didn't age well.
crashes constantly wont work
Grew up playing this game as a kid with my father. Now 25 and an adult brings back lots of memories.
This game's a classic and it really gets you hooked a few levels in
spray can go tsssssss
This game is really awesome. Story, soundtracks, characters (most of them are real graffiti artists), graffiti itself. He just wanted to get his name up, but he found the truth.
This game is a brilliant mix of action, creativity, and urban culture. Set in a city where graffiti is both an art form and an act of rebellion, the game lets you step into the shoes of a rising street artist. The gameplay combines platforming, free-running, and stealth, offering a unique experience that keeps you engaged as you tag and spray your way through the city.
What really stands out is the graffiti mechanics—creating your own tags and murals is both satisfying and immersive. The game's vibrant art style reflects the world of street art, capturing the bold and raw energy of urban spaces. The soundtrack is packed with great tracks from artists like The Pharcyde and Talib Kweli, perfectly complementing the game's atmosphere.
While the gameplay can feel repetitive at times, the experience is unforgettable. Getting Up doesn’t just let you explore a city, it lets you leave your mark on it in a way few games have ever allowed. If you're into creative expression and urban culture, this is an absolute must-play.
This used to be a GREAT ORIGINAL game back then, loved it, played it & finished it without issues like 15y ago... well, sadly, can't say the same about this Steam version which idk wtf it is but is very buggy & almost unplayable, camera movements + sensitivity giving you head pains while there are no settings to tweak them, tips in game many times has nothing to do with what actually for interactions you have to do bcs are something else required to press & do.
I wish that someone would remake this game with the original sounds & vibes but to be completely playable on 2025+ systems !
Get it when is on sale, worth to have this gem, somehow with some tweaks must be played but atm no nervs for that....
I keep on getting this texture glitch where all the graffiti on the walls are flashing and it makes the game sure annoying to play especially going over someone elses graf it makes it impossible to see what im doing. can anyone help with this issue?
the most broken camera view in decades!
some levels have broken collisions(for example Highway level) making them almost imposible to complet
the good part is music and overal feel of the game, little bit nostalgy kicks in
thank god i didnt buy it for full price!
The game is a technical nightmare because despite a modern version of the game, it's still busted as hell. Turning on D3D8to9 breaks all textures and renders characters invisible. The game also somehow looks worse than the Episode 3 game (Same devs) and Indiana Jones: Emperor's Tomb (Also same devs). I wish I could actually be able to play the game, but it's so chock full of bugs to even stand it for too long. If it's not the visuals breaking, it's the ui because the graffiti/inventory menu is stuck in the top left with no way to fix it. Avoid this game.
awesome game but needs some patching
im not recommending buying this game except you want to appreciate developer. this game crash on modern pc, even theres no button mapping and buggy everywhere.
An absolute gem of a classic that I remember playing over a decade ago. Nothing quite like it.
Sadly it can be pretty buggy on modern systems. Not a very good port which holds it back a lot.
Great game that reminds me of the Warriors. Only bad thing about this is that the mouse sensitivity is fucked up. To fix that, go to Marc Ecko's Getting Up 2\engine\vars_pc and change mousespeed to -0.450000. Then go to _bin and rename the "launcher" to "launcher1" and "Getting up" to "launcher" because if you don't do that, the mouse sens will reset. Other than that, if you love grafitti, get the game.
Playing through it again as an adult, this game was a core foundation of my childhood. One of the few games i had on the PS2 and i enjoyed it thoroughly, beating it after much hardship. That being said:
-The soundtrack is amazing, aside from the stand out licensed music of classic hip-hip and underground rap tracks as well as the soul and funk songs included the games score itself is well tailored to the environments and situations.
-The strongest and most obvious strength of this game is the grafitti artwork and the faithful representation of various real world graf artists and the various concepts relating to graf culture; such as gangs, vamping, subway bombing, and the greater narrative of using this artwork to transcend self and create a powerful message that may be able to change public perception.
-The combat is decent but on PC the camera controls are lackluster, the combat mechanics for the era were well implemented but now feel dated, as is natural, but the camera and the jankiness of that where the real problem rears its head. There are times of genuine frustration as Trane incorrectly targets an enemy or the camera is stuck in a wall. It is remedied by repositioning in combat often but feels like it shouldn't be as much of an issue as it is.
Overall i would recommend this game to anyone interested in graf culture and a dystopian anti establishment world. The tagging mechanics are really one of a kind and difficulties with the camera and combat aside its worth a delve into its interesting dynamics.
"I rather die on my feet than to live on my knees"
Extremely glitchy port with awful controls
Classic game, in need of a official remaster or remake
this is the most frutiger metro jankfest I could've stumbled across and I love it. It has surprisingly fun combat mechanics, a pretty solid graffiti system and between the absurd dystopia shoved in that's unexplained and the absurdly nonsensical and goofy cutscenes that would rival a c-tier bollywood movie it's a pretty good time.
Just unfortunate that it doesn't like to play nice with modern systems, there's quite a bit of freezing and broken textures here and there, seems it's fixed by just setting the exe's for the launcher and game to a compatibility layer for windows xp with service pack 3 and force to run as admin just to be sure. You also need to specifically after that mark the box in the launcher for the d3d8to9 thingy and it should fix it.
for linux though i've seen people saying it works to use this in the properties launch on steam WINEDLLOVERRIDES="d3d8=n,b;msvcp71=n;msvcr71=n" gamemoderun %command% and choose the no launcher option in beta participation, apparently that should do it so hope more people have fun.
great chill game, i would heavily recommend it.
INKCROBUST.
Игра, которая незаслуженно была заброшена и забыта. Несмотря на раздражающий паркур, игру хочется продполжать играть, в ней есть задумка и хребет. Раскрашивать графити на стенах очень затягивает.
THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE! THIS SHIT RIGHT HERE!!! THIS THE SHITTTTTTTT!
PROS:
-great take on tagging
-immaculate vibes
-incredible soundtrack
-i love ecko unltd
-chill combo system
CONS:
-evil mouse sensitivity
-expected clunkiness
-every enemy is a punch-absorbing nuisance
-subway ride.
"Subway Ride" mission is still haunting me in my dreams.
hot man 10/10

This game is my whole childhood. If you like graffiti like I do this is it for you. You get to fight and make a name for yourself as a new graffiti artist. My favorite thing is that there is a buttload of artwork from some of my favorite artist around. Banksy, Shepard Fairy, Space Invader and even more.
Iconic part of graft history
so good
I really loved this game back when I played it on my PS2, so I decided to play it again on PC. I don’t know why, but I used to really enjoy it, but the controls on PC aren’t as smooth as I remember—they feel a bit weird. Still, it’s a great game that brings back so many memories.
Played long time ago, then it got released didn't finish back then, so I thought myself I give another try but game aged horribly it looks bad, plays bad, feels bad and with such high mouse sensitivity impossible to play normally
GOOD AF
this lowkey put me on some banger albums hehe but dont tell nobody
like if gta and jsr had a love child. I'd play more, but this game is a product of its time and feels pretty clunky
alright right off the bat, it's broken and buggy but what can be expected of a game this old, how ever its fun for the brief time (time played 9 hours so far) i have played i have found it an amazing game with a great story that keeps, at times you will get frustrated with things but its worth it
The best graffiti game I've ever played, great story, I recommend it to everyone who likes graffiti, the only complaint is the poor camera movement
Good
I played it as a kid and thought I would get it as it was on sale. Mark Ecko's Getting Up: Contents Under Pressure is a great story and concept that is unfortunately stuck within a genuinely horrible gaming experience. The controls and camera angles are by far the worst that I've seen in any game ever. The graffiti painting is just a bit more in-depth that the spray tagging in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. The fighting is frustrating, with broken animations where enemies go from being on the ground to standing and attacking instantly. The jumping and climbing challenges are on rails which in this case is a good thing since they would be completely impossible given the game controls. By the time you beat the game you would have probably spent over an hour total just fighting with the controls and camera angles. Walking and turning the wrong way while balancing on beams, getting stuck on the terrain and objects while running, getting hit by cars because you can't point the camera in the right direction... In the end, this is a cult classic game and might be worth it if you get it on sale 90% off but otherwise it's not. I would love the be able to give this a good review because the story and concept is great but unfortunately the game part kinda sucks.
The game runs poorly. The camera movement feels oddly inverted, requiring me to manually invert both the X and Y axes. The mouse sensitivity is too high, and I got stuck during the first combat tutorial where the game asks you to hold Mouse Button 1. It doesn’t register me holding the button at all. Doesnt Work on Steam Deck.
cool
Na putu ka studiju sam video dobar graf - Smoke Mardeljano
I think I like the game
