Costco Armored Core rocks.
In this game, you take control of a non-mute, genocidal pilot as they help decrease the global population count by a double digit percentage.
That's only in campaign. You can sign up later for warpath mode to engage in actual mute psychopathy in your favourite discount White Glint or mobile suit.
10/10, give me back my NEXT, Fromsoft!
Just know, its fun if you can't afford AC
this game made me more soaking wet than a soggy cat left in the rain for 12 consecutive days. ill give it a 9/10 since i can't oil up in my mech
The badly paced plot and constant switching back and forth between characters gave me a bad case of whiplash. Also be prepared for constant Engrish and questionable voice acting.
Gameplay wise it's alright. People say this plays like a mix of Ace Combat and Gundam, but it's much closer to Zone of the Enders.
The game only cost a $1.10 during the Christmas sale though, so I guess I got my money's worth?
A solid Ace Combat x Armored Core fast paced mecha action game. It's short but an excellent game for the price. If they made a sequel I would play it.
The story had potential but it's told a bit sloppily and the voice acting is...well, it's not great.
Its alright, I personally really dont like the campaign and story but they do have this cool mode where you can work for either faction in like an operation setting, starting out with the grunt mechs and working your way up to the highest tier, fun to play around with but personally I think I prefer more ground based mecha games (everyone compares this to armored core but every fight is done in the air, to the point where there arent even any ground walking animations) but I think I picked this game up for one dollar, and for even full price id say this indie studio did quite a good job at making a fun mech game
Good game, it's ace combat but with mechs. The combat is just not for me, but if you enjoy mechs and ace combat you are likely to enjoy this game too
Best 1$ i have ever spent on a mech game please go play this
got a job for you 621
Outright lies on the store page, Doesn't support 3440x1440 21:9 Resolution.
"21:9 / 32:9 Ultra-wide, 4K and high-end resolution support"
Menu music is way too loud by default.
Voice work is very indie tier as each voice is using a different microphone which can be very noticeable.
Poorly done English translations, it's not "Kid in the block" it should be "Kid on the block" for example with many words are pronounced oddly and not in a American vs British kind of way.
Controls don't feel right on controller, Y to Ascend and A to Descend make no sense to my brain, Boost on Left Trigger should be Stick In/LS for example.
Ultra quality preset doesn't even max out settings, 5-6 settings still it on High.
No customisation.
I like mech games but this game doesn't leave a good first impression.
This is such a anatstic game. I was so legitemately blown away by the frenetic, fast paced and adrenaline pumping action; and enevironments upon which you fight are just absolutely gorgeous and beautiful with just amazing set peices. The real star of the show is how all of this comes into play with music that just makes the combat and story feel epic and amazing. The story is pretty solid, even though Mirai, one of teh two protagonists, is kind of annyoying; but thats the only real downside. You can tell this is an indie project made by people who loved Mecha franchises like Armored Core and Zone of the Enders; and that love shows through in its immaculate and loving presentation. At the price point it's at, it's very reasonable and will blow your expectations away. We need more people playing this game because it's genuinely amazing and not too long either.
Do you like Ace Combat? Do you like Gundam? if you answered yes to either or even BOTH of these then you'll probably like this game. Have fun, pilots.
If you absolutely love mech games and already played every single other game out there, you'll probably get some enjoyment out of this. For someone casually into mech games like me this was quite a rough experience. This game is kind of all over the place. I found the characters and the dialog really annoying, the story is meh and while the combat is kinda fun the missions tend to be pretty tedious.
I only bought this because it was so cheap
5/10 decent mech shooter
huge fan of mech game wish had more of them that did something like this story was good the game play is really fun.
Mech game with no customization :(
The controls are a bit... questionable, and the flaws of foregoing the standard AC style separation of QB and boost are noticeable. QB can be held for a ground-type boost while airborne, and movement is relative to camera orientation. For proper altitude control, face buttons are bound to relative ascend and descend, but with no kind of target assist dragging your camera around, you're free to just look up and fly forward. While it's not really a problem on it's own, it does become much more button press intensive while in combat than the AC type B control pattern, which is generally optimal for mecha games. Switching weapons and only having one fire button compounds this problem, where swapping through weapons with the D-pad invokes the rare double claw technique, which certainly puts a strain on the fingers, especially on xbox controllers where the index finger must be used on the left stick instead of the thumb. To alleviate the pain, i even found myself using my left hand to control both sticks while swapping weapons sometimes. It takes some getting used to, but the controls themselves are fluid and work very well, allowing it to still be comfortable to play. Especially the camera control, unlike many other mecha games. The only real problem with the control is that the lock-on is a one time action, not a toggle mode. This means that if you lose sight of an enemy for even a moment, you need to reactive your lock. Not a problem in optimal conditions, but if you're still locked and press the button, you lose your lock. This makes it very difficult to fight around cover, or at the edge of your range, where you need to be ready to reactive the lock at any moment, but not press it while your lock is currently activated. It would be much better as a toggle mode, where it just gains any lock it can while enabled and doesn't lock while disabled. Once you're used to the unorthodox controls, it plays very smoothly, and has an impressively long and detailed campaign for an indie game. Not a world class mecha game, but still excellent
