A fun game, with a lot of attention to details, and an interesting twist on the Tower Defense genre. I highly recommend it!
need proton or wine to play even if it say linux support dont work.
I played the original Anomaly when it came out and just finished Anomaly 2 today, over 10 years after release. I enjoyed Anomaly 2 and wanted to hop in for some more with Anomaly Korea. The problem is this is a really bad mobile port where the devs really didn't put much effort in.
You can't move the camera with the keyboard. You have to hold mouse click and drag your mouse around the screen in order to move the camera. There are only keyboard shortcuts for setting up your convoy, looking at the map, and speeding up time. In the other Anomaly games, you can essentially pause the game in a moment of panic by right clicking on the screen. You could then place the ability of your choice where you clicked. Granted, you had to wait for your commander to run there if he's not there already but that's part of the strategy. In this game, there's no pause. You can't click on the screen for where to place an ability. You have to click on the icon on the left side of the screen and then quickly and accurately click where you want to place it.
The controls are just too bad in this lazy mobile port. Maybe if you really loved the other two, you'd like this one. But I really enjoyed playing Anomaly 2 just earlier today and did not enjoy this one in the short time I put into it. The devs should have put in some better control options in this port, it would have made a world of difference.
Anomaly Korea plays just like the mobile campaign and feels like a dlc rather than a separate game.
It offers 12 missions, challenges and 2 new things which are a new unit and a gadget.
If you enjoyed the gameplay of the mobile campaign, you will like it. Its really short but fun to go through.
Not a bad game, but honestly, it's just the same game again in a different location. Still though, it's entertaining. If this is the type of game your'e looking for as an anti-tower defense, this will definitely be for you. 7/10
Here's a controversial opinion: I legitimately think that Anomaly Korea is the best game in the series.
Let me do a quick run-down.
- Anomaly Warzone Earth. The original game is good but the first two levels are unbearably bland and boring, and the rest could use some work.
- Anomaly Warzone Earth: Mobile Campaign. Obvious mobile port, yes, with the same story/units/balance/boss/etc. Yet the levels are so much better designed I would definitely recommend it over the original game.
- Anomaly Korea. An expansion of the aforementioned mobile port, it adds a few new things that significantly alter and build upon its base game. It is the most interesting and most challenging game in the series. Strongly recommended.
- Anomaly 2. The PC sequel to the original game. Somehow the things that worked flawlessly are now worse or even buggy while all the new additions lose the tight gameplay of the originals. It's not a bad game but for me it was way downhill after Korea.
[*]Anomaly Defenders. A tower defense game with really poor gameplay that I don't care for.
So in my opinion that some may find controversial, I honestly think that the two mobile-based games (highlighted above) are truly the best Anomaly games. Earth Mobile Campaign is a direct improvement over the original and Korea is a great expansion. Everything else on the list isn't as good.
It's a short 5 hour game on casual, a bit longer on advanced and I'm sure even longer on the highest difficulty. If you loved the original, this is more of the same, with a few extra tricks thrown in to keep your attention. It's nothing revolutionary but it scratches the itch.
Would recommend if you can grab it on sale. The normal price of $5 is pretty okay for the content but given that they barely added anything from the original, maybe grab it at half price.
Anomaly Korea builds slightly on the previous Anomaly games, but really it is very similar. Not that that is a bad thing; it still plays well and is a great reverse-tower defence game. The graphics do a job, the voice acting and music are fine and it is a great way to spend a few hours.
Requirements
Computers in 2021 can run the game easily.
Changes from prequel “Anomaly Warzone Earth”
Commander removed from the game so you cannot run freely in maps. Ability collected via mouse click. The game provides new “Boost” ability to enhance unit attack range and power. There is a bit change in unit’s detail such as Tank has ability to fire charge shot and supply unit can choose commander ability freely. New enemy type added.
Story
After “Anomaly Warzone Earth”, not all enemy destroyed so player has to eliminate them once and for all to save the world.
Gameplay
Tower offensive game as same as “Anomaly Warzone Earth”, player has to build a squad composed of military vehicle such as APC, Shield Generator Vehicle and Rocket Launcher Unit, etc. to clear enemy that appear in your way to the alien boss. A player can buy/upgrade units with money received from eliminating aliens in each level.
Difficulty
Normal but player can increase difficulty level in the game menu. This sequel has “Art of War” mode to prove player ability management skill to clear stages.
Graphics
Really nice.
Sound Effects, Music, And Voices
The game really takes you to the battlefield. Sound effects, music, and voices are great.
The Length Of The Game
Around 35 - 40 hours to complete every in-game achievements.
Replay Value
Only for achievements.
Navigation And Exploration
The game tells clearly what to do, type of ally unit, enemy units, player’s ability explained well.
Price
The price could be cheaper. Wait for sale is recommended.
If you liked the original Anomaly, chances are you'll like this. That said, I really didn't as the entire premise got stale for me after one game. And it's much better on a mobile device (a tablet with a big screen). It makes you then feel like you're really a commander overviewing a situation. On the PC there are many better ways to spend your time, really.
This gave me the feeling that this is a mobile game and replant to pc.
The UI is so huge for my screen.
Gameplay, it's rare for the game industry but plain.
Just average game quality for me, you can give any game of this series a try,
if you have money to waste.
The so-called expansion to Anomaly has less to offer to the player, other than a few new towers, units and abilities. Most of the major details form its predecessor are removed for better mobile playability. The most notable of these changes is the removal of the commander - and changes to the skill system. In the previous game, the minimap functioned better and accurately gave the ETAs - this one doesn't and that will hurt the player for timing-focused missions. The graphics, oddly, seem worse than the original, and the camera controls feel janky.
Try the original, or other games in the series. I've received this in a bundle, and uninstalled a few missions in. Not even worth completing.
I honestly think the designers of this game took an interesting concept and tried to put the player in as many situations as possible that ignored that mechanic in lieu if being as frustrating and repetitive as possible. This game is so annoying I wouldn't even recommend you play it if you got it in a Humble Bundle.
0/5 stars
a better expansion than the other one. there are new features that are not in the older game and controls are still amazing or almost the same than the 1st expansion.
Anomaly Korea is a secondary game / DLC to the main game: Anomaly: Warzone Earth, in the ground-breaking "tower attack" game. In the main game, you get shifted around the world trying to get under the alien forcefield trying to see what they are doing underneath. Here, you are now entering Korea in a side mission still against the same threats, but with a slightly different story expansion. It's still the same game, so those of you who played the main game knows exactly what they are getting into. If you didn't... well, you should be reading my review of the main game. But TL;DR: you are the commander controlling a column of vehicles, the largest units that can penetrate the alien forcefield, and you are exploring the area, which has clusters of enemy towers. You need to adjust your route, and deploy your abilities at the right time, in order to defeat the towers, and reach your destination, and hopefully, find out what the aliens are up to. It's MOTS, but it's GOOD MOTS.
Gameplay: 7/10
Graphics: 7/10
Sound: 7/10
Story: 6/10
Replay/Value: 7/10
Overall: 6.8/10
Its a good game for casual and hard core gaming. wwish u can enjoy it like by me excelent jugabilidad
This game is such a similar case with Anomaly Warzone Earth Mobile Campaign that i'm just gonna copy/paste my review from that game in here:
If you haven't played the original, go ahead and play that one first.
If you have played the original and want more of the same with a worse UI, then this is the game for you.
You can get them both with the Anomaly Game Collection (it costed me less than 3 euros).
That way you get the other 3 Anomaly games as well (there are 5 in total).
As you can easily guess, Anomaly: Korea is just more of the same. But it's not necessary a bad thing. I mean, Anomaly: Warzone Earth was a cute little “reverse tower defense” game, but it had only 14 missions, so, more of the same may be nice, especially since price is fair. Unfortunately, Anomaly: Korea isn't the same with Anomaly: Warzone Earth. Instead, it's a sequel to Anomaly: Warzone Earth - Mobile Campaign, which is like a dull mobile port of the original game. Later, Anomaly: Warzone Earth - Mobile Campaign was ported to Windows too (you can buy it in Steam now), but the port was extremely lazy. It didn't have a gamepad support, there was no way to change resolution, while the default one was laughably low, etc, etc, etc.
And Anomaly: Korea is exactly that. Nobody even bothered to do a proper job here. You can easily feel that this one is just for money. It's exactly the same Anomaly: Warzone Earth - Mobile Campaign all over again. It feels dull in comparison with the original game (no commander, tap-oriented gameplay, etc), it looks terrible, there's still no gamepad support and proper options... Even the story can't add anything new. Machines has returned and now using a special device to change the Earth orbit. Brave guys from the US military forces should join the Korean pals, stop the tin cans and dance some Gangnam Style afterwards. The end. As much as I like to write the detailed reviews, there's literally nothing else to say about this game.
So, as much as I like the idea about more Anomaly, more dull mobile stuff isn't really what anyone may want from the series. Anomaly: Korea is something you get in the bundle and play once at best. If you've already played the Mobile Campaign, you'll get bored right away, and even though Anomaly: Korea has only 12 missions (plus some extra challenges), you'll probably end up giving up on it right after you'll get all Steam trading cards. Just because dull mobile game with nothing new in it feels like a royal waste of time.

Release Date: 6th November, 2013
TL;DR
A Good tower defense game that will keep you busy for a bit, but do know it's an expansion. Upgrades are fun, and you have to look at your game and follow closely to win, unlike a lot of others which you can just sit back and drink your coffee. Or beer. Or whatever it is you drink.
Pros
Music
Gameplay as a reverse tower defense is interesting
Graphics for this kind of game is good
Actually has a small storyline you can follow
Cons
Only 12missions
Gameplay
I've not played any other Anomaly games before this, so bear that info in mind.
A strategy reverse tower defense game, you set our your troop's directions on a map based on the mission purpose and the enemies dotted around it. Once you've worked/planned out your route, you then watch the results of your choice with the option to add boosts, repairs, and abilities to improve your troop's chance of succeeding their mission. You have to be careful about where and when you use your boosts and upgrades to increase your success in a mission. You can get extra vehicles and boosts added during the level as well.
It's a simple game limited in what you can do as you follow a predetermined path that you set up at the start. The birds eye angle makes it visually easier to see how your units progress and what's coming up.
The graphics are quite good for this type of game, and the effects are pleasing. Its basicly a war tower offense game and that is what you can see on the graphics. The shooting- the towers- everything looks just really nice. And not to forget... EXPLOSIONS
It's like a reverse tower defense game. Instead of you building the towers, you're the mobs running through the defenses, trying to survive. The different POV here to this type of game is something I like.
You complete missions for cash and bonuses, increased by the score you gained. Completing gives gold and a score, which can be used for upgrading and purchasing/unlocking new vehicles. Your missions are timed as well, making you choose the shortest path with the least resistance, though it seems quite a lot of the time the shortest path is the hardest and riskiest for your units. It depends as well on the enemies you have to face as some are a lot more lethal than others. I find it gets challenging quite fast which leaves you needing to use your boosts and gold to make it through the missions, which can limit the chance to upgrade. It's also tactical to be able to rearrange the order your vehicles move in, especially when they're taking a lot of damage to save them.
The running dialogue from the characters/units at the start of each mission and during help to give it a more urgent feel to the missions. You don't really get personal info about them, just their reactions in the war zone, and a brief statement of the mission at hand. Though the story isn't amazingly detailed, there is one there and you do know what you're doing the missions for.
The music for this game is actually really interesting during the selection menus - easily the kind you would expect in a movie. You can hear the influence of Korea in it and a driving rhythm makes the game a lot more atmosphere and tense. However, it doesn't take over the game and distracts the player, so it leaves you room to be able to focus on what is happening, so big plus there.
It's surprisingly engaging for a game where you design the outcome at the start then follow through. These kind of games have the potential to get boring really fast because of the limited interaction /direct control you have, as in you don't personally drive the vehicles through the map – they follow the path that is set out. As a reverse tower defense game, I actually really like this. There is the option for more game modes so there's more to do after you complete the main missions, which is nice.
Seems quite a short game, only 12 missions. I'm aware it's an expansion, though I still think they could have done a little bit more. Though having said that there is some extra gamemodes as well

Firstly, I would like to mention that I personally enjoy the Anomaly Series and I would definitely recommend it to my friends. Anomaly Korea is a Tower Offense game, instead of the traditional Tower Defence games. This makes the Anomaly Franchise stand out of other games.
With that said, the original intention of creating Anomaly Korea is to be played on mobile devices, rather than on a PC. As this is a game meant for mobile devices, it is pretty much the same as the gameplay style of the original Anomaly: Warzone Earth, just that you would realise that there are no keyboard shortcuts, making it unfriendly for PC gaming.
For PC gaming, my recommendation would be to get Anomaly: Warzone Earth or Anomaly 2, instead of Anomaly Korea as I find those meant for PC gaming more enjoyable and with keyboard shortcuts, making the overall gameplay more convenient rather than having to use the mouse all the time. Unless you are a hard-core fan of the Anomaly Series, don’t get this game and save up the money for Anomaly: Warzone Earth or Anomaly 2 for a better gameplay experience.
Well, I finally got Anomaly Korea, so lets see how good this is. (I have played this game a LOT more than 13 minutes)
Anomaly Korea is a top-view reverse tower defense game, when you are in control of a task force whose goal is either destroy all towers or get to a certain point on the map. The game starts off after the events of the original Anomaly. You play as a commander fighting a war against a race of sentient alien machines (that is literally what they are called). They have now targeted korea, and you are the only thing in the way of the machines at the moment. So, lets get to the review.
Pros:
- Good graphics, great visual effects.
- A variety of vehicles at your disposal. From mechs to tanks to mobile shield generators.
- You can change the formation of your convoy. (protip: keep your most powerful unit at the front to soak up damage)
- There are special tactics you can use in the battle. You can use anything from healing to smokescreen.
- Campaign is really good. Got me hooked in the first 10 minutes.
- (I think this is the best part) you can change the course of your units mid-battle, which allows you to make split decisions when something new shows up.
- Runs smoothly even on weak computers with decent graphics.
Cons:
- The game gets a little repetetive later on.
- You have to play the first game in order to understand what actually happened beforehand. (for instance: where did these machines come from? What is their goal other than destroy everything?)
- No multiplayer. :(
Overall, this game is a great game to get if you are into reverse tower defense games. It mixes strategic path making and fast reaction skills to make an excellent strategy game. It's graphics are pretty good for being a port from a mobile game. There are actually uses and purposes for having certain units in your convoy.
I give this game a 7/10 (Definitely worth a look). This game is awesome if you are a fan of strategy and tower defense. If you are new to the franchise, I highly recommend this game to start off with. The storyline is gripping, and it actually feels like you are fighting a war against giant robots.
