Contraption Maker

I wish there was an option to use the graphics from the original Incredible Machine game, because the animations and "whimsical characters" look trash. Everything looks so cartoonish and warped that my 6yo confused the mouse for a wasp, because it has a weirdly thin body and its ears are shaped pretty much like insect wings.

The addition of elements like zombies and brains are unwelcome, and make the game much less appropriate for younger kids (especially when they're included in the tutorial levels).

The controls feel clunky and there are occasional visual bugs (ropes connecting to points but not showing the actual rope between the points etc). There's an option to fast-forward the puzzle speed but no option to slow it down. Some of the more complex puzzles have so much going on in a short period that it's a really needed feature.

It doesn't satisfy the same feel of the original, and it doesn't have the modern features that would make it feel more worthwhile.

The spiritual successor to The Incredible Machine from the same developer. Excellent follow-up.

If you like me grew up on The Incredible Machine in middle school, you will instantly find yourself at home.

a LOT of fun, you get to experiment, though it does SEEM like a large game, it really isnt.

Game is interesting but does not keep track of levels played or selected settings.

Game from the old good times. Great work.

I don't review games but I am so grateful that I get to show my daughter the joy I felt in childhood on The Incredible Machine. This is an EXCELLENT game to play together with kids, a rare combo of wholesome educational problem solving that is authentically fun.

Remember the Incredible Machine? This is like a remake of this.
