Bar apparently being set in the Hamlet world and being structured in five acts, this game has nothing to do with Shakespeare. The puzzles are sometimes okay but mostly meh. Some will need you to idle for a while before even being able to finish it and many do not give game-inherent clues but have rather random solutions (like clicking a door 50 times). Some things didnt even react to being clicked for the first time for me, even though I attempted the correct solution. Obviously this then led me to googling a walkthrough just to find out the first thing i tried was meant to work but simply didnt. Really cannot recommend this at all.
Very short Point & Click puzzle adventure game
This was actually a mobile phone game first if I recall correctly and it shows. Instead of tapping, you just click.
The game is just a succession of screens with various puzzles. Some are complicate, most are pretty simple. There is a hint system which can help you if you are stuck too long but you shouldn't need it too much.
The story is loosely based on Hamlet by Shakespeare and contains most of the characters although the art is very special in a way that it doesn't match the original story. You can easily judge by yourself with the screenshots on the store page to see if it's your style or not.
The bad side of this game is mostly that it's very short and in less than an hour you will have finished it. That's what it really is, a short and easy game, nothing too fancy, nothing too bad.
I would recommend it only on sale as it's a pretty short game, for when you are bored and looking for a quick funky story, something you would expect from a short TV shows episode.
Helplessly clikcing on the screen, trying to figure out what to do with no indication of interactionable objects at all, a bunch of memory puzzles, and bunch more clicking hapaharzdly on the screen and some tightly timed precise clicking pasages.
All that looslye filled with some characters from Hamlet.
It's more of a reminder of the long gone flash game era.
Insufferable title aside, Hamlet is a fine and relatively uneventful point and click adventure. And when compared to mif2000’s Franza Kafka Video Game, this game feels like a more sincere and focused effort. The game’s over reliance on fast precision clicking puzzles makes the game difficult to recommend, but there are still absolutely redeeming qualities here too (I personally enjoyed the boss battle sections). If you liked point and clicks from the early 2010s this might something to add to your never ending backlog of games.
