This is a great humorous point and click adventure game set in the same universe as the others in the series featuring many of the characters that appear through the series. They are worth the buy if you enjoy these types of games. It features a great set of comical characters in a fantasy world with some references to other fantasy stories and some challenging yet not to difficult puzzles. It is worth the full price but it goes on sale often enough, and I picked up the whole bundled series on sale. In my personal opinion the sale was an absolute steal for what you get.
A delightful prequel! The Critter Chronicles offers more of the same humor and charm that made the original so fun. Love the new characters and clever puzzles—perfect for fans of point-and-click adventures!
I've loved all of the games in this series and I wish I could find other games that are like it. I think it's spoiled me for future point and click adventures. This was such utter fun to play.
It's not a bad game, but it's not that good either.
Get the whole collection and play the first 2 games. Then also this one to be somewhat disappointed at the mediocrity.
Many puzzles have very convoluted solutions, some of which you may solve by accident without knowing what you're doing as the issue still didn't present itself. The humor also isn't as good as it used to be, though there are a few nice moments.
There's also a game-crashing bug along the way; if you play this and encounter it, know that exiting and re-entering the room before triggering the cause of it solves it.
The critter is the cutest thing in this whole series. I liked the fact that this game was not as long as the first part. The puzzles are mean (baby catapult lol) and creative, the artwork is cute and colorful, I also really liked the Antarctica-setting and the crazy Hogwarts-Tower. But oh boy that crash in the beginning where the critter attaches the rope to the salt shaker and then the whole game crashes really drove me crazy. I found out that you can (sometimes) avoid the bug by waiting about a minute without doing nothing after attaching the rope, others say you can skip the animation by leaving the cave before the animation is shown. I somehow made it after many attempts but it was really quite annoying. Otherwise great game.
