An incredibly good and cleanly executed stealth game.
One of the best stealth games i've ever played.The aesthetics are perfect, you are literally a ninja, in a side-scrolling 2D game no less! The game does have a story, albeit a heartbreaking one at that, but i wont spoil it.
The game gives you a good variety of tools to approach most situations the way you want, however on the later levels just like most stealth games, your options diminish a bit as the difficulty increases.
The game does have replayability by having a score system, and unlockables that change up your gameplay, as well as New game+ hard mode which i took the trouble to replay the game again, and its quite punishing too as you can get one-shot on hard mode if you are not stealthing .
It's length is perfect as well. Not too long, not very short, just right, and it even has DLC.
This is Klei entertainment's biggest gem and it shows.
Its fun, but ive played too many games like it over the years so i got bored quick.

Mark of the Ninja is a well-crafted stealth game with smooth controls and fluid animation. The levels encourage creative stealth, but the game can feel a bit too simple for those looking for more challenge. It’s fun but doesn’t offer much depth beyond the gameplay.

This is a ninja simulator, this is 2D Tenchu. Not only is this the best stealth game of this generation and also the most accessible since loads of my friends who hate stealth have loved it, but it's also a gorgeous game with Klei's trademark cartoon style. Near flawless design where it can cater to players new to stealth with the visual information readable in the game rather than stuck to HUD bars but also cater to hardcore stealth users who want to ghost. Yes, that's right. "Ghosting" (not touching a single enemy), a principle usually reserved for crazy stealth fanatics, in this game is actually fun with the path of silence outfit or the mark of serendipity, which is rare for many stealth games. Thanks to New Game + and the different outfits, there is loads of replayability.
Mark of the Ninja was an incredibly well made stealth game with really good level design and Stealth Mechanics. For every level there is multiple paths you can take as well as multiple different options of approach, the whole level is also very free to explore with the only things marked on your map being your objectives that you have to complete. This creates many open ended scenario where you can choose how a situation is played out. The game also provides you with many different tools that you can use such as traps to take out enemies or darts to take out the lights in your vicinity and different unlockable finishing moves. There are so many options of confrontation that you can even go an entire level without killing a single enemy and not getting detected at all, which the game encourages and rewards you for doing so. The Art and Visuals are also really nice and I love how they used the colors or rather lack there of, to show when you were visible and when you were hidden. The story of the game is also pretty good with an easy to follow narrative that gives you a purpose for your missions.
The game overall is really good and well designed but I would Recommend you get the Remastered Version as that version has updated Visuals and Cinematics, Fixed bugs (There is a bug in this version that takes some troubleshooting so your controller can work properly) and Additional Content such as levels that are not present in this version.
Platformers and stealth games are definitely not my thing. I bought this on sale hoping it would suit my play style better than most. Unfortunately, it doesn't, it's too difficult for me on the default (and I couldn't see a way to change this).
I found the graphics, sound, game mechanics, and settings all to be lacking to some degree. The gameplay and stealth mechanics in particular felt incredibly shaky and poorly executed. I could never remember which buttons did what I wanted, because the gameplay mechanics were terrifically complicated: basically the only part of the game that felt well-fleshed out, in fact. The graphics are well animated, but really boring, and after half an hour struggling with the controls, I felt like I'd probably seen most of the sprites. I can't comment much on the sound/music because I turned it down really quiet almost immediately, as it felt distracting.
As with most platformers, the controls were too frustrating for me, and I just felt like it was too clunky to spend time fighting with the game to get my sprite to do what I wanted. I also found the combinations required for more complicated manoeuvers, like some of the wall-climbing/-walking to be painful, hurting my hands to perform them for any length of time.
I couldn't get comfortable in this game, the mechanics feel very off to me, and somehow being in 2D made this feel even flakier and less engaging. Can't recommend it.
Mark of the Ninja - a master in stealth gameplay, with great mechanics and ambience. The levels encouraging exploration and offering multiple paths to accomplish your objectives, which keeps the gameplay fresh and exciting, especially when hunting for collectibles.
The mechanics are deep, allowing for a satisfying range of strategies to tackle each challenge or enemy, sometimes forcing you to use different methods of approaches. The upgrades and abilities you unlock add a layer of customization, letting you tailor your playstyle.
This is a homage to stealth games back in the day, it's a gem that really captures stealth action and deserves a place in any gamer's library.

Great stealth platform game
One of my favorite games!!!!
For a stealth game, this is pretty fun. The art is nice, the indicators of where you can and can't go are clear. It's pretty forgiving if you screw up. It gives you different ways to play--kill everyone or sneak in or both. The story is clear and good. There are some issues with the AI/path running. Like, sometimes I'll be in a spot and there are guards, but the guards never move far enough away that I can sneak around them.

I know I'm not the first to complain about "obligatory stealth sections" in other games, but this game is the reason those others are so annoying.
If you want to do stealth make a stealth game! Look, here, they did it and it's excellent! More games like this, please!
