Very BUGGY and the game feels like its not finished. Secondary quests you can get stuck and have to start again.
No, just no... it is like HoM&M IV for the HoM&M series...
A lot better than the first one though with only one campaign. The game play shift regarding initiative threw me off at first but easily got used to it to the point that it became too exploitable.
Not as buggy as the first and experienced fewer crashes.
I was a fan of the first and second parts of this legendary game!
And I'm so disappointed that the third part is so spoiled.
Why these turn-based battles with movement?
It was better without moving on the battlefield!
Why these smeared textures, where did you recruit your artists?
Why such a boring and long cut-scene without any deep sense?!
In the second part, it was really interesting to watch and there was intrigue! But, here the impression is that some amateur schoolboy wrote lyrics for the announcer!
I kept this game in the library for a long time and I was afraid to play it and now... my fears came true. The game really sucks!
My personal advice for fans of disciples2 DO NOT play this ever.
I really want to like it, but it is a buggy mess...
It could be good, has potential, but it runs really badly, crashes randomly and so on.
I've heard that Reinacarnation should be better. But i can't confirm that, since I don't have reincarnation.
Makes fun :) and it crashes very seldom at my PC (once every 5 hours). Great Dark-Fantasy Unites. But its a pity that there are not many Maps for Skirmish
Look, I am a 40 year plus gamer. I have played more games than most of you have ever even looked at or reviewed. The entire Disciples Series since 2003 is really fun and easy to play. With that said, Disciples 3: Resurrection SUCKS!!!! why, it crashes almost every single time you move your character... not just ever turn, but every time you try to do ANYTHING. THere is no fix. I have looked on Steam, on gaming websites, on review websites, ... it just doesn't matter. I dont' care how great the series is, if you can't even save or load your game, IT FUCKIN' SUCKS!!!!! FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING FUCKS!!!!!! don't play this game until they fix it. All other Disciples titles are Amazingly good. Enjoy the series, just don't play this one. Seriously, great series, just don't play this game.
Leader can't do anything 1st round? Casters that don't work 1st round, then work every other 1? Is this some kind of cruel joke? My 1st lvl demon party gets TPK'd by 2 wolves. Twice. The bigger wolf can kill anyone in the party with 1 crit. Another map the new party is surrounded by unbeatable death stacks, except the 1 beast creature that poisons with every attack & also TPK's the party in spite of my caster being on a boost point. The aforementioned leader/caster problem didn't help. That's just unacceptable. Instant ragequit.
Yes, I verified the game files; 1 was retrieved, but combat was still the same.

Renaissance is the first Disciples III game which contains the Human, Elf and Demon campaigns. Resurrection is a standalone expansion to it containing the Undead campaign. Reincanation is a partial remake combining both.
Oh, so this is why this expansion pack is on Mostly Negative. I have like 1.2h on this game, yet 1 hour was asking myself WTF is going on instead of actually playing. Why Meelee characters move twice, why I cannot move my ranged characters from a mile-long moving legionnaire that cover hits them whenever I want to back them off. Why my Initiate has 100 health for no fucking reason while rest of the lvl 1 characters have 200+. The only good feature I saw compared to the Rennaissance is that it shows you what are the abilities and passives of a unit, instead of making you guess during combat.
Otherwise it's an unplayable garbage, don't play it.
The game itself is great and the undead fraction really adds to it HOWEVER if you cant deal with the constant crashing, disappearing textures, overlapping HUDS and extremely slow gameplay because of it then i do nt recommend this game as if the 4 HOURS i played it i have only reached the MIDDLE of the FIRST mission in the whole game
Bugs in the first mission of campaign. Can't even start turn 1. Terribly unbalanced. Cheating levels of units. Cool concept. Couldn't have been a worse production. 0/5 stars
Same story as Disciples III - Renaissance. Game breaking bugs: Every so often the game gives you random black hexes where you cannot see what is there, basically breaking your map. If you go into battle, the game crashes after the battle, so you have to repeat it or exit the game when the black hexes appear and restart. Truly not in the mood to do this all over again after renaissance.
On the plus side, gameplay, graphics etc. would be 7/10, a good game in its core but the bugs will not let you enjoy it.
The game is a classic, there's no need to review. What I'm here to talk about is the the extraordinary technical assistance I received from Kalypso, the company that published the game. I discovered they had a Facebook page and I messaged them. They responded immediately and working on their end they had the game running almost immediately. I have never witnessed in my 32 years of computer gaming a company as responsive, efficient and knowledgeable. Apparently it was something to do with the game's attachment to a now out of date email that was causing the problem. Ten stars!
A part of the reason to play this series is the rich lore and back stories. I understand many modern gamers being disappointed with the heavy graphics load for not much performance. Inherently, action style games feel more competitive. But the gameplay and unwinding story with clever combatants organizations, arranged to dissect your weaker heroes until one can learn softening techniques and creature dynamics, are a good puzzle system. It suites my style of gameplay and occasional 30 minute family/working life opportunities to game. I came away with a great experience as the final plots unite and entwined me through my heroes to a complex mythological universe. I can't have a computer without my DII and DIII heroes resident. Replaying the characters through every 3-5 years will be eternal (for this 60 year old strategist).
Very good game! There are pros and cons to Disciples III - Resurrection. Initially I thought the game was going to be bad because of negative reviews here on Steam. I installed it, found the "normal" campaign start very tough as the experience required for your units to level up is higher than in Renaissance. I got discouraged and quit and uninstalled the game. But then, about a month later, I was thinking about the challenge again. How hard (and important) the first mission was. So I decided to try again and reinstalled the game. So, here are the pros and cons:
Pros:
- Continues the Disciples III Saga
- The units of Undead look awesome
- 2 new Heroes which are both awesome
- New combat mechanic rebalances fights
- Long campaign
- Same (good) music as Renaissance + new Undead music which I really like
Cons:
- A few bugs, crashes to desktop (5 per 80h of gametime)
- You need to register and "login" but that was easy and I didn't have problems
- Leveling up normal troops takes much longer, too long IMO
- Some of the voices are misplaced or don't sound right for certain units (minor thing)
- A notable bug is when selling from your character to a town. If you have too many items, you won't be able to sell all of it. Just dump some items on other characters and then go in your character's inventory screen (that removes the blanks from your inventory), then go back in town and interact with the shop. Now you should see items that were not there before.

So there you have it. If you like Disciples and don't mind dealing with a few bugs that overall do not impact gameplay, then Disciples III Resurrection is good.
Next I want to discuss some of the stuff that I really enjoyed in the game.
*MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS*: There is a Sphere item which gives 2 cover points to the hero. And it also gives some Intellect and maybe something else. Equip that sphere on Salaar - even if he is Str based - as he is a mage and mages normally don't get cover points. See how powerful he gets when you close up on enemies first in combat with a high initiative, tons of HP, high armor, then attack (all), then attack with cover two more times and one final time during the round with 200+ weapon dmg per attack... If you can reach a focus hex, you're dealing some 350+ per attack and if you crit...!
So Salaar is a very nice character and I had a lot of fun playing with him. Amina is also fun to play with and I had a lot of fun developping her and selecting units to complement her abilities. Of course her Timestop ability is her ace. When she gets that all battles begin with her time stopping the fight. Leveling up my warriors and mages into stronger and stronger archetypes of the undead felt really good. Blood Lords, Archliches, Dracoliches... THIS GAME IS EPIC DARK GOTHIC!
And I only got Incarnations of Rage once (2 of them) and they really felt awesome...
If you had good memories from Disciples 1 and Disciples 2 then steer clear of this title. Still got major bugs years after release that break the game for me. That including graphical glitches, missing textures and game crashes among others. I've given the game many chances but it always ends in a crash to desktop, be it while moving, building a building at city screen, winning combat or pressing the end turn button.
For my part Disciples 1 and 2 were unique games in style while Disciples 3 tries to mimic Heroes of might and magic while failing miserably at it.
Combat in Disciples 3 is nothing like the combat in disciples 1 and 2, disciples 3 tries to implement tactical moving battles like Heroes of might and magic rather then staying true to its roots.
Sounds are bland and unimaginative, it really sounds that several of the charaters ingame are bored.
Graphics and overview map are bland, objectives and visittable items are hard to spot.
Easy 1 of 5 stars.
DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION.
Buy "Disciples III: Reincarnation" instead.

No way to end hot seat games other than killing the castle dewler wich if you played any other disciple game you know its impossible or next to it. No depth. too many bugs. crashes often. please please please do not buy. I WOULD REFUND IF I COULD
I played this one and finally finished the last chapter in the campaign mode.
Even if Disciples 3 was estimated far worse than Disciples 2 series defintiely,
I will recommand this one, the story was good - especially resurrection - though battles were so many and bored.
Still I am grateful to play Discipes series and hope to get better edition someday!

Bought this on sale. Feels like an unfinished, unpolished game. Played it for a bit, but was so bored I am not sure if I'll play again. Graphics are, at best, passable. Mechanics are confusing and lack coherence. The voice acting is HORRIBLE (I never notice this kind of stuff normally, but this is just pathetic).

At one point, kalypso changed the login procedure associated with this game where we suddenly had to register on their sites to actually play the game. At that point, i entered my key and managed to play a few hours. Those hours were not incredibly fun. The strategy would boil down in having werewolves as soon as possible because all the melee creatures were unable to touch them making most fights trivial.
The features they had changed from renaissance didnt look like good ideas balance wise so i ended up quitting the game. Fast forward 5 months and i suddenly cannot login the game anymore because it decided that my online key isn't valid. Nothing has changed in my setup. Since the game wasn't super fun last time around, i gave up. Couldn't recommend the game to anyone because of both the balance issues and the key issues on their server.
I read a lot of reviews on Disciples III. A lot were bad however there was a lot of positive as well so I took a chance because I loved Disciples 2 so much. Well let me be another that is in the bad review camp.
I also read that D3-Resurrection was the game that should of been released in the first place. They said they fixed most of the bugs. If that is true then I would hate to play the hot mess that was before this one because there is still tons of bugs. Some of those same reviews said how beautiful the graphics were, are they playing the same game as me? Your move points are very low, so just going to get that gold pile that is about 5 inches away takes two turns. Its also really hard to logically see where you can move on the map without triggering combat. Sometimes during combat there is no walking animation, the units just glide as they move. Most of the time when an archer fires the terrain will block the camera view. Really cheesy! The combat is slow, repetitive and boring. The only real tactical dission is what unit to attack. Then it boils down to just exchanging blows and hope you can win.
I dont recommend Disciples III. If interested get Disciples 2 as that is the game the fans fell in love with.
Bugs, bugs, bugs everywhere. The basics of the game are good, but the overwhelming flow of bugs keep the fun out of reach. The game stile of this 3rd chapter of the series has changed a lot, you may enjoy, you may not; but the realy is... it doesnt matter. Sooooo many and anoying bugs can make you hate the game. For real.
