About This Game
This is a 2.5 D narrative adventure game. In the city of Taihoku under Japanese colonial rules, the players have to evade the raid of B-24 Liberator from American Air Force, and face the struggles of humanity through the characters’ eye.
In the safe zones, you can explore the game freely at your will, and follow hints to collect mysterious items hidden in the city; in danger zones, the emphasis is put on the life-or-death cooperation between characters, who have to escape from all kinds of dangers including air raid.
Background Story
Near the end of WWII, the USA Air Force chose to fight against Japan with island hopping, and the two countries thus had an air combat in the air of Taiwan Strait. On May, 31th, 1945, hundreds of American B-24 Liberators raided the capital of this island, Taipei. Many of the residents died in the raid, while more of them survived, facing the broken hometown.
The leading character, Sayako, got amnesia due to the raid. In addition to surviving in the city ruined by the fire, she also has to step on the journey of finding her memories back. The Taiwanese dog, blacky, is her most reliable partner. In the raided Taipei, the girl and the dog set on their adventure together.
The players have to experience the cruelty and toughness of the war, and in the meanwhile collect the broken memories and clues. Finally, Sayako’s past can be found, and the final truth can be embraced.

What a beautiful and eloquent story. We all know of WW2, but a lot of stories unfortunately and undeservingly go unnoticed. You surely haven't heard much from Taiwan about the Pacific theater, and this is one story to be told. A great narrative and cast which brought a tear to my eye. Was very surprised to find Yang Yumo, from the Taiwanese-made game Dusk Diver, as a minor cameo, but a very welcome one!
Lovely game that tells an emotional and important story about life in Taiwan during the war.
While I have only started the game, I can already say the following. It made me want to learn more about the raid on Taihoku, Taipei's historical landmarks and the Japanese occupation of Taiwan which I think was the entire point of the game. The artwork of the game is great and the atmosphere of "end of a war ; end of a world" is really well executed. So far the gameplay seems to be mostly navigation puzzles and "fetch quest", but they are enjoyable so far. The historical content is excellent and I would even recommend it as a high school teacher as a didactic tool about war in the Pacific Theatre from the perspective of civilians.
After completing the game though without managing to find all of the collectable, I have to say that it was great. The ending was a bit rushed and while the raid on Taihoku was the 31st of May, the closing scene is clearly August 15th as it's the famous armistice of Japan and the surrender speech of the Emperor. As for those who wonders about the politics of the game, it clearly portrays the bombing as a tragic event of the war for those who suffered through it and the occupation of Taiwan by Japan as even worst, compounding the tragedy.
Gameplay is kinda like Valiant Hearts where you solve puzzles with your dog companion during war. A bit of stealth as well.
The architectures are modeled after real monuments, which is pretty cool.
Story-wise: Your parents die in an air raid. However your dad wasn't an ordinary businessman, and has left you a registry regarding a mysterious club aka the Wakamatsu Shokai. Your barmy arse lose the bloody registry, and things just go really really bad.
I thought the protagonist didn't really contribute to the ending.
Still i appreciate a happy ending albeit very abrupt.
You can tell the developers put their heart into this.
