The DSX app on Steam is a great utility for those who want to use a DualSense controller on their PC without hassle it brings native features like adaptive triggers and haptics to games that don't usually support them making for a smoother console-like experience the UI is easy to navigate and overall setup is simple though the app does lack support for some niche games and occasionally has connection hiccups for the price DSX offers solid functionality and is a must-try if you want to enhance your DualSense experience on PC.
for the time being, ds4windows simply functions better for what i need it to do. the haptic options were cool i guess but whenever i tried to open it there was a point where the entire window would be white and i couldn't interact with the software so i don't recommend it no.
It does exactly what I hoped it would do. With the virtual DualSense Emulation DLC, I'm able to play State of Decay 2 on Xbox Game Pass with my DualSense Edge controller (tested in wired mode, haven't tried wireless and don't plan to because DualSense Edge battery life is pitiful), and it works along side my favorite controller button remapper app, reWASD. Better yet, after I completed the straightforward setup wizard on first launching DSX, it just worked out-of-the-box.
layout makes no sense, and ever since the update I cant get my inputs for my back pedals to register to the buttons i have them mapped to. dogshit app, doesnt work, frustrasting
would 100% recommend this app to any controller players. i have dual sense edge controller with paddles and it helps so much. by far my favorite app

It's a Good app for dualsense but the price is a little but high
absolutely terrible, and no reason to acquire when there are better options for free
The maping keyboard on the gamepad buttons feature looks like a deceit to catch customers. Only works fine on desktop, when i open a game this options seems disable it by itself automatically. Example, i have a dualsense and i mapped ESC on the touch panel button but doesnt work when i controlling the game.
It is paid software that is worse than the free DS4Windows in every way.
Was using DS4 Windows with my DualSense controller till it started messing up, thought i would try this and it works fine in all my games, pretty happy with it. Have not had any problems like i did with DS4 Windows.
Worth checking out if you have a DualSense controller.
Can't believe a Steam purchase ONLY lets you load this on one computer and not the other!
I bought this right at the start, back then it was worse than DS4Windows. Now its much better supporting the 2 controllers, but requiring a further update to use DS5 sticks was a bit of a cheek.
Now I'm trying to run DS4 controllers on another PC of mine and Steam won't allow it, saying I lose out on running it at the same time on my other laptop.
Ridiculous.
Easy to use for emulating Playstation Dual Sense Edge controller. Very easy to assign custom binds to the buttons and back paddles. The acheivements don't work though.

- Adaptive triggers work like broken
- The sensitivity of the right joystick is very high. When turning to the right - you turn 540 degrees
- Vibrations sometimes work, sometimes not, and sometimes work very weird

I genuinely can't recommend this software enough. Its shocking to me how much better quality this program is than Sony's actual Dualsense controllers (I've gone through 3 at this point due to stick drift), but I took the plunge, grabbed a Dualsense Edge and this software still works with it out of the box with amazing features, and basically everything I could hope to have with it. Is it odd to spend 5 bucks on a software to run one specific controller type? Not if you like the features as much as I do. Haptic feedback and adaptive triggers are fun, and even though more PC games are coming packaged with support for them, I can just swap the emulation around and cater to anything I happen to be playing.

I’m using DSX 3 with a DualSense controller, but unfortunately, the battery level icon doesn’t work correctly in the taskbar or in Steam itself, even with the feature enabled. This issue makes it difficult for users who need to monitor their battery levels. I’d appreciate it if this bug could be addressed in future updates to improve the overall experience with this software.

The worst piece of software I have used in a while. Get Ds4windows, the open-source alternative instead
legit the only software that lets me use my DS Edge back buttons on my pc. only thing I dont like about this software is that im always prompted to buy the new version which isn't necessary.

Disappointing Experience - Stick with DS4
At first, the only thing that sets DSX apart from DS4 is the adaptive trigger feature, which is nice in some games. However, it quickly becomes frustrating when you realize you have to manually adjust it for each game. The process of creating specific profiles is unnecessarily complicated, and the app isn't intuitive at all when it comes to remapping buttons (if that's even possible—I could never find the option). To make matters worse, after already paying for the app, they try to push you into buying a DLC to access additional features. Overall, it's a poor experience. You're better off downloading DS4 instead.
I'm not a fan of their company name but it works the best so far for any games outside of steam when using ps4 or dualsense controllers. Too bad Sony is slow on helping their PC oriented customers with automatic windows integrated controller support.
This program used to work pretty smooth and fast when it first released on Steam and before it too, while on the free version from GitHub, but now the program costs more than twice what it used to and it also freezes for quite some time when it opens. Also it wants you to install a weird software made by some brony into your PC, that will just randomly want to update at some point and pop up with a cringe pony icon, Windows will detect it as something suspicious, even tho it is not, but it's annoying.
The dev decided to go full greed mode rising the price from 2,39€ to current 7,79€ with an additional 4,99€ DLC pay locking more features, when there is many free alternatives with same basic features.
And I practically never use it nowadays.
Amazing granular control customizations for your DualSense controller.
there are a few small quirks here & there, but I'm sure these will be resolved in future software updates.
Came straight from DS4Windows to DSX when I upgraded to the dualsense.
there is also a free version available, which gives you a decent taste of what you get in the paid version.
if basic functionality is what you're looking for, try the free version.
if you REALLY want to Experience your controller to its fullest - BUY THIS!!

App is amazing and im quite pleased with the functionality and things it offers. However i had 1 annoying tidbit that ive seen thus far that i think makes this app questionable on whether its something you should initially aquire IF this preference doesnt suit you. it does state that it has a 2 week cache feature for offline use but it never works, thus violating the advertisement of the application itself. Also, this program doesnt specify it has a DRM, which is a requirement by steam to be listed if its built in.
The app itself required a internet connnection, if your in a internet outage and looking to slam down some singleplayer gaming and need to use this for a edge controller or PS5 controller then you SOL. It will error out and require you to launch it once a connection is open and able to verify the servers. This is quite stupid for a application that has zero need for internet connectivity outside updating. Sham on the devs for locking it behind this as its hindering themselves on making it top tier. Either way, its decent and give it a go if your looking for Haptic feedback!
This is the perfect software for wireless Dualsense for gaming. However there are a few things you need to know.
Pros:
- Works perfectly with wireless Dualsense connection.
- fixes the issue with Rumble and Adaptive Trigger not working in games.
- VERY customizable.
Debatable:
- You need to disable Steam input, and any other kind of input for this to work. So you cannot use it for regular PC tasks.
Cons:
- VERY expensive. If you use a wireless Dualsense for gaming, you NEED the DLC. Totaling to almost 13 euro.
- DO NOT CHANGE THE THEME! Changing the theme to Acrylic breaks the app completely on my Windows 10 machine.
- "Launch with Windows" also launches steam automatically, which is probably due to its extreme DRM.
- Internet connection may be required since it checks if you have a valid license.
Conclusion:
This software does what it promises and even more, but its not the perfect solution and its price + the DRM forcing bad practices from the developers is a really good reason to avoid it.
If you have other options than this, use it.
However if you are like me, and the other solutions aren't a good option, this software does all you want perfectly.
dualsense dlc for a dualsense primary app. Eats playtime even when not in use. Most of the time ds4windows works better and eats less battery life 👎👎👎👎
Makes the dualsense controller work really well.
seems cool so far, but still missing a lot of features like Gyro and macros and touchpad options like in rewasd plus haptics feedback mode need to be fixed (sound repeating), deadzones option work but not perfectly

Works great for getting adaptive triggers in games that dont support it offically and also good as a controller emulator program for the few games that dont work the best as a non steam game

The USB ports for my Dualsense seem to have stopped working after trying this.
Best way to hook up your PS controllers to your PC. Plenty of options, especially for the DualSense, and generally very high compatibility with any XInput-based game that Steam isn't quite handling right. Give it some dosh & a whirl if you're running into a roadblock with your PS controller.
horrible dev practices, the app is a buggy unfinished mess, theres UI controls for features that arent implemented yet (and theres no mention they arent so you expect it to work), extra paid DLC for already pretty weak product. do better
The perfect companion for your controller. It has EVERYTHING (and more) :D Just take the time and explore every option and see what hidden features you can find and tweak your controller (or device) to the max. I'm using with different controllers but my main one is: DualSense Edge. You can customize EVERYTHING, save profiles, load profiles, switch them on the fly, etc.
Could not be happier to use it with my controller (dual sense edge), I only wish it had support for multiple controllers at once. Good app nonetheless.

great for using a dualsense with any game that supports controllers. the achievements seem to be broken though. cant make any progress and judging by the 0.1% completion of nearly all of them, i'm not the only one they're broken for.
love this software its nice for playing all types of games on my pc alot just make sure that if you use a controller with back buttons to use the ps4 or xbox emulation i use a ps5 sony pro controller with the ps4 emulation and it works perfect
Quite simply, I have always preferred Sony's controllers. Unfortunately, some games do not recognize them. Now, with the DSX app, I can use Xbox controller emulation. Essentially, I can play any PC game without any issues. Amazing!
I'm currently using a PS5 DualSense Wireless controller in a game that only recognizes Xbox controllers. The emulation is excellent.
Easy solution to get proper dualsense haptic feedback and adaptive triggers on steam.
I have payed for this once already to have full Dual Sense Emulation, which was not time limited or a trial. Developers now can just decide to downgrade your product out of nowhere - to emulate only Dual Shock (PS4 Controller emulation) and asking me to pay again for locked "feature" I payed for in the first place? You gotta be kidding me.
Worse app I've ever used. Do not buy it!
The app is super laggy and unstable. Profiles often does not applied, and you have to go to app, and select them once again. Buttons remapping, shortcuts are fully broken and laggy. Can't see a reason to pay for that!

trash, cant update drivers at all and doesn't let me uninstall it. ps5 controller stopped working once and for all, the bluetooth system is f u c k e d. I tried to reinstall drivers, restarted my pc 20 times, repaired everything, still don't work.
Never buy a ps5 controller for pc. It's not worth it because it takes so much time to set all the settings and the bluetooth. Just buy regular xbox controller and wired too. Saves so much energy and time. I just bought my wired xbox controller and it's so much better because I don't have to f u c k i n g become a full time nerd trying to solve some f u c k i n g bluetooth s h i t.
JUST PLEASE DON'T EVER BUY PS5 CONTROLLER FOR PC AND DON'T BUY THIS SOFTWARE!!!
Removed features to section them off in paid DLC. Takes ages to start up compared to DS4 (which is free and functions perfectly fine if you just want xbox controller emulation). Randomly disconnects both of my dualsenses when wired. Seems pretty buggy and bloated compared to earlier versions and especially compared to free alternatives.

Don't bother buying this, If like me you wanted to be able to game using the controller layouts you're used to, it won't happen. Stick to the free version, It still won't do what you want but it also won't cost you any money.
