not perfect, but for the most part i can just set the adaptive triggers to w.e fits a game and then haptics can just go off the game's sound. not too good during cutscenes, but gets the job done during gameplay(depending on the game). played rdr2 with it and since that doesnt have a ps5 port, id say playing on mid-high pc with dsx is the next best thing. ill def utilize this with many games
Just like what the recent reviews say, this app isn't worth it anymore. Or, at the very least do not toggle Launch with Windows for this app, it will prevent you from using a dualsense controller for both wireless and wired mode. Early days of this app was fun, but it is just not worth the headache anymore. It still works, but just enough to infuriate you.

simulation ps5 dosent work on dual sense. simulation ps4 and xbox dont have vibration on fc25 please add and fix problem . everything is awsome just vibration and simulation ps5 dosent work
An absolutely must have if you own a Dualsense Controller, actively developed and keeps on getting better.
I'm not going to say what everyone else has said word-for-word, but the general talking points are:
- Performance/software issues (Crashes, freezing, graphical issues)
- DLC just to emulate a DualSense when you already have a DualSense that should be working normally when not emulating a DualSense
- Price tag for the BASE software, plus DLC, plus an update for people who bought the software before said update, PLUS the DualSense emulation DLC in the earlier point
- DS4Windows does a better job than this for a better price tag of ZERO dollars, ZERO euros, ZERO reais, ZERO pesos, ZERO pounds, ZERO of whatever currency I'm missing
- Random disconects, controller issues caused by the software
- TWO DRM layers (Steam + online auth from a driver)
- Requiring Steam to be open for the software to work
- High CPU/Ram usage (DSX uses ~9% CPU & ~500mb ram while DS4W uses no CPU and half the ram)
CONCLUSION:
Just download DS4Windows. If you have downloaded this software and have it installed, you should have all the dependencies.
dlc makes no sense, and just download any other free app, like DualSense Y or DS4, they work just fine, this app is just for the looks and doesnt have any more functionality compared to its free alternatives
This game is a love hate relationship. one second youre fighting a flying through like theres no tomorrow then all of a suddon there a tiny spider that comes speeding at you out of no where. gave me a heart attack

All features in Free Version are working with Free Version only. No features except adaptive triggers and light-bar seem to work in Paid Steam Version with DLC. Posted Threads reference old navigation pathways that no longer exist for fixes (no vibration, profile adjustments not affecting controller output, constant profile resets, controller controlling desktop). Features sound nice but don't function and support is outdated.
I'd like to also add that support expects you to be professional, but will actively antagonize you if they feel you are complaining too much or are too upset, going as far as having bots post gifs calling you a cry baby when explaining how needing their support has impacted you. It hasn't happened to me personally yet, but the discord is riddled with this type of behavior, and I'm just doing a search on past responses to the issues that I have with the software.
UPDATE: After 6 hours of troubleshooting and engaging with support I wasn't able to get a fix. I was told that I don't understand what the app does or it's limitations and therefore need a paid dev to help me, but it's not like we ever walked though any troubleshooting steps. I just got sent pictures of settings and when duplicating them didn't work I was told I don't understand the app. Not sure what's going on here, but I'm requesting a refund personally.
i dont usually write reviews but what lousy software, i got the free version of dsx2 a few years ago and it worked semi decent, no real issues. finally was forced to pay for the v3 upgrade and paid extra for the edge add on. (ridiculous btw) dont download this app unless you want to wonder why your controller constantly doesnt work, thinks you have 2 controllers sometimes so instead of pausing games, it joins a second character and you lose all functionality of player one (that one was funny). also good luck ever getting it to close or getting hidhide off your pc. download the ps accessories app for free idk what i was thinking. bye dsx, youve been awful
Stick to the free version, at least that works, and if anything bugs out you can blame it on it being free
Only had a positive experience with this app. It allows me to play RDR2 perfectly with my DualSense no BS or mixed button glyphs. Rockstar launcher otherwise does not work with the DualSense.
DSX is a new app in beta, and there are a few bugs and issues, but nothing I could not handle while setting up my profile. Loads of options for every aspect of the controller bar none. Well worth the 10 bucks I spent. Some people are just too cheap these days and don't want to pay for actual development. Steam already takes 1/3 of the money for this app, yet users want all of these people to work for free. DSX is a stellar app for anybody that wants their DualSense to function properly in a host of games that have no support.
Been testing this out for hours now, DSX is tempermental.. sometimes it works while I load up the games like the LEDS and adaptive triggers and other times I am getting a default blue light with the adaptive triggers not even turned on while DSX is running on Steam.. I am really annoyed considering I spent money on my PS5 controller and DSX to not even be able to use it properly or having to restart games over and over to make it work.. there is clearly bugs that still need to be tested and sorted.. so because of this reason I would not recommend buying this as I have paid for something that doesn't work properly.. Until this is fixed I have no use of my controller.
in the 2.5 version, you can download a software from overtake.gg called "DualsenseXLink" which you can use to activate active triggers for assetto corsa where it gives you live feedback during braking if youre about to lock up or locking up, and also for the right trigger, throttle, it gives you the ability through feel to know when to go flat out and avoid wheelspin, game changer. (works only for dualsense)
It does its job. Not much else to say with the exception of some customization functions that are nice to have.
UI could be better, I had trouble finding the option to enable led passthrough. We are long waiting for haptic support over BT too. Otherwise great software

This app is NOT user friendly at all. I had it running one way. I turned off my PC and went to bed. When I got up and turned on my PC, DSX looks NOTHING like what it did the last time it was run. The layout of the program was completely foreign, and I had never seen it before.
All the sudden my left back paddle only works with square, won't map to anything else. Waste of time and $
me personally preferred the v2 over the one that came after because it had better feedback! The latest beta version is pretty good! i can feel a bit more detail just wish it could be more defined... it rumble seems too weak atm even when maxed out.. at least on forza.
on throttle rumble and on brake rumble would be nice!

I was using the free version of DSX before this. But every time I started Battlefield 2042 controller input would break. I tried to use HidHide along with it but then it would break DSX. Placing DSX into the whitelist in HidHide would also not work. I was stuck between making Battlefield to work with my DualSense and older EA games like Mass Effect and Battlefield 1, which I needed DSX for.
I decided to give this a try even though many users claimed its no different then the free version, which is incorrect. What I did is update this software to the BETA version which allows me to specifically disable DSX with Batllefield 2042, along with HidHide, where HidHide actually works properly along this paid version of DSX.
Now I can play all my games with DualSense controller without having to do endless troubleshooting to figure out why my controller doesn't work.
I hope the developer of this software reads my comment and DOESN'T break these functionalities with new updates to DSX.
This games anti cheat sucks hot ass. Been shadow banned twice now for no reason. Its not my fault I am better than 99% of the cod commnunity!!!

Frequent updates, very communicative developers, and tons of great features. A must have for Dualsense Edge owners.
pretty fun when it works but i bought this to hopefully fix my adaptive triggers not working, only to find out that this just became another reason they werent working.. ill use it again once something gets fixed just for the extra rumble but for now it blows
okay, it turns out this issue is (for now) only with ff16, i just tried it with apex legends and it works totally fine with this turned on.. so.. i guess im positive?
although having good features locked behind a paywall, this app and it's developer team has been nothing but amazing, and is 100% worth the price you're paying for!
they add to the application each day with more features, and i strongly recommend you buy this tool, even if you own a normal dualsense controller!
i've been using profiles and dynamic adaptive triggers based on vibrations to make full use on my controller and it's been a blast!
Bloated buggy junky greedware locked behind a steam account (forcing you to buy it on every account you want to use, on any computer you want to use it on), with extra features locked behind further paywalls.
They can get away with it because it's the only software (i've been able to find) that does what it does.
It is a disgrace to software development, obviously made by developers who only care about the green (the only reason you would EVER lock SOFTWARE (as in software tools) behind a steam account), and a perfect example of how NOT to release software.
The SECOND i find an alternative, i'm leaving this crapware in the dust.
theres so many glitches, and sometimes i cannot use my controller because of these glitches, it keeps skipping 1 tabe when i press R1 or L1.. its frustrating

Not a great software, honestly DS4Windows has a way worse UI but works 100 times better. And does not have achievements that do not work!!!
Great little app that with a single button press can trick Windows to use a DualSense to play Game Pass. Very easy to use and has a myriad of customization options.
10/10 Can use my PS5 controller flawlessly on any game. Has changed my life for the better.
Great for playing games that don't have in-game support for PS5 controllers. The downside is that it disables my Graphics card from switching to Nvidia only while it's in use, which means those games don't get best graphics possible on my machine.
DS4Windows remains to be a better alternative, despite no longer getting updates. You can also download the official PlayStation Accessories app to change your onboard profiles if you have a DualSense Edge.
Haptics alone are not worth paying for this software.
The devs of DSX themselves have stated that a fix for the performance issue it has is to add DSX as an exclusion to your antivirus. They need to fix this quickly, adjusting a piece of software in your antivirus should not be a performance fix for the average user.
DSX is the only app that got DS4 rumble to work in games for me. I couldn’t figure out how to enable rumble using Steam controller settings or DS4Windows. While the controller vibrated during tests and in emulator games like PCSX or Yuzu, it wouldn’t work in PC games. Maybe that’s just my own skill issue. With DSX tho, everything was set up automatically, and the rumble worked perfectly in-game right out of the box.
That said, it’s a bit odd that some features in the app are locked behind a DLC. But since I don’t have a DS5 yet, it’s not a big deal for me. On the bright side, I really like the UI, and it follows the Microsoft Fluent Design style, which I’m a big fan of!
Unlocks your PS4 or PS5 controllers full potential, if you own a playstation controller I highly recommend this software!
I used this to shut down the lights on my DualSense/Edge controllers to save battery life.
The bad thing about it is that it drops connection at random on every gaming session I used it. It can be after 10 minutes, 1 hour or 2, totally random. Games like Rocket League doesn't recognize the re-connection attempt without a game restart so it makes the app unusable for me. Being booted out from an online game ain't fun at all.
The gamepad never drops if used in native mode without the app, so it's exclusively this app's problem.
I bought this because of the infamous ds4windows bug where no matter what you did the controller would not be detected. Various other show stopping bugs in DS4Windows also forced my hand. I can say that DSX is a breath of fresh air. It's modern, works and has a tonne of features. The quick "Controller Type" switching from native to xbox to ds4 is a life saver. But here is the clincher. Games that gave me problems with ds4windows worked like a charm with dsx.
I highly recommend this software.

helpful app. it's got some great customization options for the lights and timeouts, which are what I wanted. notifications about low battery, accurate readings of levels (imperfect, but that's just the way the controller is). I found it worth it.
Must have if you prefer using the FAR superior PS Dual Sense vs an Xbox One remote. It works for every single game that needs a controller (when a mouse and keyboard cannot/should not be used).
Love that I can use all the Dualsense features like adaptive triggers / rumble and haptics all via bluetooth

One of the best pieces of software for anyone using a DualSense and/or DualShock controller on PC.
Provides full customization for the controller comparable, if not better than, the Xbox Elite software but also provides detailed analytics that can be used for device troubleshooting and warranty validation.
I find it essential for games that only support Xbox controller (such as older games) but it has such an easy-to-use interface that I can easily recommend to even tech-illiterate friends.
Why is there no detailed audio adjustment option in the beta version? ? ? I connected my Sony headphones to my Sony DS controller through the wired interface, but my headphones cannot receive sound. I would like to ask you, has the function of the headphone interface of the DSX controller been removed in the latest beta version? ? ?
Don't waste your money, just download the FREE playstation software from their website and you will have full functionality. Don't let mfs lie to you this shit is a bloatwear
