In partnership with Steve Jackson Games, the iconic tabletop card game Munchkin brings its murderous mischief to digital devices!
Go down to the dungeon. Kick in the door. Kill everything you find. Backstab your friends. Steal the treasure and run.
With millions of copies sold around the world, Munchkin is the mega-hit card game about dungeon adventure...with none of that stupid roleplaying stuff. You and your friends compete to kill monsters and grab magic items. Don the Horny Helmet and the Boots of Butt-Kicking. Wield the Staff of Napalm...or maybe the Chainsaw of Bloody Dismemberment. Start by slaughtering the Potted Plant and the Drooling Slime, and work your way up to the Plutonium Dragon!

Shuffle Up an Adventure!
You're a Munchkin...and Munchkins love treasure! But a stack of pesky Monster and Curse cards are between you and your hard-earned loot!
- Munchkin is played in a series of rounds using Door cards and Treasure cards to explore a dungeon.
- Build a character by combining Race and Class cards, then gear up to face the lurking monsters!
- Kill monsters and collect Treasure to level up! The first Munchkin to reach Level 10 wins!

But wait...there's more!
- Cross-platform, online multiplayer shenanigans!
- Learn the tricks of the adventuring trade in a dungeon-delving tutorial!
- Sharpen your blade in Solo Challenges with special rules!
Go looking for trouble in Munchkin. Hey, we're all going to get roasted and eaten sometime.

There are a lot of bugs. In each game, one of the players encounters a bug that prevents them from achieving victory.
WTF you assh*le developers? How TF is that easy mode when every single AI is targeting me and not the damn other AI thats about to win? You guys are a bunch of moronic plebs that clearly don't know how to code. I'm not changing my rating of this god awful game until you fix it.
To all the people out there that love the card game, DO NOT BUY THIS JUNK. It's not even fun. The AI will literally target you every single time with a curse or backstab, even when you are in last place with 1 power and level 1. Oh, and forget about the whole trading aspect. The AI will only trade cards to you, if you cannot use them. Not worth $10, let alone the non-discounted price of $15.
It's munchkin, but brought to PC! Great board game, and I wouldn't have refunded it if Couch Co-op was an option.
Newsflash: Couch Co-op is NOT an option. walk away if you want couch co-op.
positives: challenges are fun. if you know people with the game, online is pretty fun. it's Munchkin and Munchkin is a fun game.
negatives: bugs, bugs, and more bugs. virtually impossible to play with strangers online because of no games and the bugs. game becomes very repetitive without expansions. expansions are expensive.
conclusion: do not buy unless you have friends with the game or plan to just play solo. expect constant bugs.
We have several versions of the board game and love that we can play online with our friends around the world!
Its like the real game, but fewer options to cheat
randomizer needs retooling.
It's a really fun game, but needs to have a rejoin option. Continually getting kicked for inactivity when picking my cards is so annoying.
bad ux
Great Card game that was excellently brought over to digitial. Only complaint is that there are only two expansions.
i love it
Good game to have some fun with friends online when they can't be present to play the boardgame itself.
Can rarely finish a game with friends due to game breaking bugs. The game also has extremely bad/messy and unclear UI. The actual physical game is super fun, so this version has potential, but it probably needs a complete remake.
Just like the card game, but with less of the hassle. I think it was converted to pc very well and the AI is challenging to keep it fun. Allowing trades and sabotages stays true to the games authenticity.
Wish there was a way to pause to read the cards played by AI..if there is, I did not figure it out yet.
The game is great- especially the original, tabletop version!
The AI is horrible and teams up against you on any difficulty and has many bugs and shady draws/rerolls.
I would recommend you do yourself the favor of going to your local card game store, buy the standalone game and maybe a couple expansions- grab a few boys and brews and play the actual game. A much better experience.
Steve Jackson rocks.
Quick Concise Review:
First, let me say that I've only played the IRL Munchkin a few times. Love it, it's better, way better than this one. I try to play this game almost every day. I try to play everyday... If I can find other players. When you do find them, you'll find many people rage quitting when the game is almost over, toxic play styles, frequent bugs and disconnects. Once you do finally find a game, and it's working well, it's so fun! That being said, here is some quick points...
PROS
-Munchkin is an amazing game that has great humor!
-So much strategic depth
-There is a in game chat, which is very necessary to have optimal fun. The game is all about communication.
-extremely unbalanced, in a good way!
-If you love the table top version, it's the same thing!
-They are still adding expansion packs, thankfully.
CONS
-Where is everybody???
-Very lazily developed(they are trying to make it better, I'd say they're giving about 50% of their best effort.)
-So buggy even to this day, (1 year after release)
-I don't know much about videogame development, but I can see that the ANIMATIONS of the game are so half-assed.
-So many missed opportunities such as adding voice chat. The game NEEDS you to communicate.
-Need more of a punishment for CHEATERS and RAGE QUITTERS such as losing ELO or ban. I've seen the same cheating players still playing in other lobbies!
-I can't tell you how much better the game would be if they would add more cards, faster! We still only have 3 packs when there is SO many more...
-I'd love to be able to make a CUSTOM DECK, removing or adding cards. See there we go again, another missed opportunity.
-You can't create your own character... WHAT!?
-Some people play super toxic (not games fault)
-They need to give the ability to KICK people
I really think you should get the game even though the developers, and Steve(the creator of the original tabletop), need to try harder or start over... I feel like I could do better, and I don't know ANYTHING about developing video games.
Final Verdict:
5/10
Play at your own risk. You will have an amazing time, half of the time...
It's the card game Munchkin but digital. Very useful to learn the rules of the game. Use to play this game long ago when it first came out as physical cards. It is the same game, only thing I dislike is the many DLCs but the cards did have a lot of expansion packs.
Its awesome
Was a big fan of this game when I played it physically, but didn't always have time to play against friends. Saw this on the store and got some of my friends to play it and it plays just like the card game did. However, playing against AI is a waste of time as they will constantly cheat and its them against you. Game is also super buggy as the game won't let you play race cards unless you got them in the first round. Won't allow you to ask for help against AI. Will even make you draw the high level monsters, while the AI gets the lower level monsters. Only good to play against friends, but if you want to play solo, there's better solo games out there.
Its Munchin bro, it slaps
Super glitchy game. It doesn't follow the rules. Played last night with friends after purchasing. Consistently didn't level players up, didn't give players a chance to play their response cards, or just straight up ignored some clearly stated rule. At least it was consistent with applying the bad gameplay all around but was super not fun. Will not be returning to this game
Just horrible game play with lots of moving elements that are distracting
(HEY, LOOK AT ME!! DID YOU LOOK AT ME? DO YOU WANT TO CLICK ON ME? I THINK YOU SHOULD CLICK ON ME BECAUSE I THINK YOU SHOULD! NO, DON'T TAKE ANY TIME, JUST FUCKING CLICK ON SOMETHING ALREADY!!!)
I love the card game, and while the rules here are the same, it's just unplayable.
Worse AI cheating than Mario kart. Every game the AI lets you sore to level 9 then just stomps you to the stone age and make you sit thru another 20 minutes of getting fucked by doing nothing and the AI magically gets all the answers to counter anything you need to come back. 3 hours on this BS and it's already boring. It might be worth it with some friends to play with but after they watched what ocurred it was a big turn off.
Game is so much fun! But no one plays it online! Im always looking for people to play with though! Looking for a group and ya gotta be cool with me streaming it! !!!!!! HIT ME UP!!!!!!
Finally brought this masterpiece of a board game to the digital realm. Epic!
i like it, multiplayer is great. there are still folks around to join online.
Terrible UI, but tons of fun! I love being able to quickly start a game, either solo or multiplayer.
A great game to play with friends.
fun af
Real players stay the whole game.
Good Game. I first played it as the Card game. But the Computer one is good too.
Got the best death ever from Squidzilla 10/10 IGN
Yes I was an elf, what of it?
It wouldn't have been that hard to put some love in here and at least make new Images for all the class and race combinations, instead of those wierd avatars that aren't even animated. Instead this is the bare minimum of a digital version of this otherwise great cardgame, which may as well be in table-top-simulator the way it currently is. Happy to change my review, if they decide to update at least that.
I love Munchkin and own a few versions and expansions, but this game just doesn't cut it. It is a 90% solution that meets the technical specifications, is well polished, and looks pretty. It just doesn't play very well. It is a pain to see what you or your opponents have equipped, the cards in your hand are held partly below the screen, and some things (like re-rolling a die roll) should be easier to accomplish if you have the card (I died because I clicked the wrong thing).
If you are desperate for an online Munchkin game with some friends, this could work (although I didn't play any multiplayer to test it, so YMMV).
I love the actual card game, and I've played it countless times over the last decade, but the digital version is abysmal. You will not find any online games, and the game is heavily rigged in favor of the ai players. I tried for so long to get a playable round, but couldn't. I repetitively got bubkis while watching the ai players get everything you could want, and this has happened every round I played since I got it a few days ago. Refund requested.
munchkin
Great game! Only downside is you can't just play with 2 people
For when you have no friends to play the board game.
A few bugs here and there, but its munchkin and it goes fast. Still good!
it has a little learning curve and still some issues but its fun
I love this game, but finding a party is hard due to low amount of players. Always need friends to enjoy the game.
I like it
Great game
card randomizer is weird i played several games and got the same type of card the entire game. i would get either all monster cards or all class and race cards not allowing me to even have a chance to have a character that hits more than 1 point of damage. i know its luck but i shouldn't be allowed to have that much bad luck that i cant even play the game. i like the game munchkin but its difficult to like the digital game cause of the way the game gives out cards.
Just like the in-real-life game, what more can your ask for.
Pure fun and entertainment. If you love the tabletop version, but never able to get a group of people together, this is the version for you. One could say it's "loner friendly" since full games can be played against bots of varying difficulty. They offer online multiplayer matchmaking, as well as private game servers. A few of the expansion decks have made it into the game as well; in the form of very affordable DLC ($4.99 USD). All-in-all, this is a very fun game to play, solo or with a group, extremely affordable (especially when it goes on-sale), cheap DLC, and handles flawlessly. The creators obviously care more for the game than making a quick buck, so there's I have no hesitation in supporting them.
you can't cheat when the game decides all the rules for you :((((
for real though. its a tad clunky and confusing. i'm not sure taking real-life cards and representing them digitally like this is a good thing or not, the visuals kinda get in the way of what's actually happening. and its hard to understand what and why things are happening when they just happen automatically. makes it completely impossible to play the game wrong and mess up the rules (which my family has been doing for a decade lmao), but its also a lot easier to learn the game when you have someone sitting next to you physically showing you what the cards do and who can peek at your hand and give you tips. munchkin digital also features a very good tutorial and singleplayer mode, but its a lot more fun to learn with your friends in real life in a card game.
if you actually DO know how to play munchkin, this version is an absolute treat. the visual effects are very nice and you can play the game super streamlined and quick thanks to automating some of the boring parts. where there is a few parts that could get some more polish, this is a really great way to play munchkin online with your friends! (i wish they offered a 4-pack deal.)
Munchkin Digital is a good adaption of the boardgame. After you found every mechanic and information (e.g. persistent monster debuffs next to the character portrai), its actually easier to play than the physical version. This is because most buffs get already added automatically and combat is resolved faster.
I would not recommend learning Munchkin with this version tho.
For bugs, we had some minor desyncs and visual bugs while playing online, but a quick restart and reconnect to the game fixed this. These started to occur after 3hours of playing.
