LIFE FUN
Fun and nostalgic...
It's pretty much just a bland mobile game for PC. I played one game and have absolutely no desire to play again. Even on sale this seems like a bad value. If you really want to play a good version of Life, get the version from 1998; it's more fun and despite being 17 years older, some how it manages to look far more impressive and is vastly more entertaining. This game was so lackluster by comparison that I feel like it would have been a better value to spend the same amount on expiring gas station food.

Q: Why did you buy and play the Game of Life?
A: Steam suggested I might like it, and at that time it was discounted 90%, just over 1GPB (£)
Q: Did you enjoy playing the Game of Life?
A: Yes, yes I did actually. It is a pretty nice re-creation of the board game The Game of Life that I remember from my childhood, but in a video game with graphics and things that move, There are some differences, but they are not harmful to my memories of this game
Q: Is The Game of Life strictly heteronormal?
A: NO! not only can you choose your character to be not your own gender, you may marry a person of the same gender and even still have kids if you do so. Sometimes more than six kids, so it's all cool.
Q: Can you play singleplayer?
A: Yes you can play this game on your own, although the bots ARE heteronormal and will only marry the opposite sex when you get to the marriage stage. But that's fine, it's their choice. But you can also play against friends locally or via online multiplayer. Human players can ALL make their own choices about being gay or not, and everyone can potentially have kids no matter their choice.
Q: Sorry, why did you play this again, forgot what you said? And why bother with a review?
A: Cos it's a pretty prefect recreation of a very old but timeless traditional family board game and for once, this digital interpretation actually plays nice and represents the original well, with just fine graphics and animation, options to play online or local multiplayer, and actually some replayability. It's p good if you like this kind of thing.
Q: So how does it compare to digital versions of, say, Monopoly?

Tried to play this with my friends and we kept getting kicked and soft locked multiple times in the lobby alone. Not worth the $5 I spent.

This is a very simplified and repetitive version of the board game. I've only played 2 games so far, and I can already feel the boredom setting in. There's none of the pizazz here that made the board game so much fun. A regular game with you and 3 A.I. opponents will last 45 to 60 minutes. There is also an option to play a "fast" game, which is one with a random victory condition.
For those who have never played the board game, or haven't played in many many years, the instructions here are very lacking. The graphics are cartoonish, yet the colors are very bright and crisp. You can play single-player, hot-seat, or multiplayer. (At least the button is there for multi-player. I haven't tried it, so I don't know if the online servers still work or not.)
Almost every turn is going to land you on a space where you have to spin again for money, and there's only two scenarios. First is that if your spin lands on red you collect money from the bank, but if your spin lands on black you have to pay money to the bank. Second scenario is pick an opponent to spin against for some comical excuse, and the highest spin collects money from the bank.
