Best of the series for me
The Best of Seriers
One of the better Heroes games. Great for new players as the game mechanics are simplified compared to earlier iterations, with the added bonus of previews of fight difficulties. This is definitely the best version of the game for introducing to young children, as later versions get more complicated with storylines and specializations.
Played the game a lot with my dad when I was younger, so I was really happy to get it and play it again for myself this time. Probably one of my favorite games for the sentimental value and also it being an awsome game overall. If you,re looking for an amazin turn-based fantasy game with great storytelling I'd really recommend thi game.
a timeless classic
When I was in elementary school, I used to play this game on my dad laptop and I'm hooked/addicted to the uniqueness of the game. In a context of 2006 old game, I don't thing there's many game out there that combine base building, turn based map exploration, then when you enter combat mode it feels like you're playing chess. There's a lot of depth into this game since it has many races to choose from.
I came back not because of the nostalgic feels, but the game is literally that good even in modern era.
This game introduced + build my childhood and love for turn based games.

Trying to find the tear of asha is way to difulcult to find . you spend hours trying to find it and when you finally give up you can't move on to the next. This is bull shit
Very nostalgic
Great game, along with legendary Heroes III the best one in the series. Well balanced, addictive gameplay, plenty of content and fun campaign, good music, pleasant graphics. It also plays really well on Steam Deck with trackpads.
This is such a classic. I played it all those years ago at my uncle's house and really forgot about its name. Now playing it as an adult is quite scintillating. I'm really enjoying my time playing it.
Castrate me, mutilate me or even burn me at a stake, but HoMM V > HoMM III any day of the year. :^)
can't save game
Still an old favourite that gets pulled out every so often. One of my top 10 ever and I've played a lot of games. Don't concern about how old it seems, the game play is brilliant

I played countless hours and had even a game date with a girl and the winner should receive a nice price....I think she let me win...aw the memories!
Great HOMM experience. This game should be successor to HOMM 3. If you are a HOMM fan, you have to play this.
Love the game. The campaign missions are challenging but there is a glitch on the four campaign (Elves) mission #1 (The Refugees) where the demon army doesn't advance. I have played this mission twice with the same results so guess I don't get to finish the game...bummer

Enjoyable old school game, with a plot and story line.
It's good but campaign 2 mission 3 is not possible on Hard difficulty. Be warned.
