very good
This is considered a classic for a reason!
Keep in mind, there is some jank involved. The controls aren't the best and some of the design is just old. But that's part of the charm as far as I'm concerned! But if you don't like early 2000's platformers this isn't going to change your mind or anything.
Not that it matters much, because Ubisoft are idiots and took this off the storefront.
Beyond Good and Evil™: A Timeless Classic That Never Gets Old 🐷📰
Beyond Good and Evil™ is a game that captures the heart of every player, whether you're a nostalgic gamer or discovering it for the first time. Playing as Jade, an investigative reporter, you’ll embark on a thrilling quest to uncover a dark government conspiracy. 🌍🕵️♀️
What makes this game truly unforgettable is its unique combination of exploration, puzzle-solving, and combat, wrapped up in a beautifully crafted world. The narrative is captivating, with Jade and her trusty companion Pey'j (yes, a pig, and yes, he's awesome 🐷💥) taking center stage. You’ll laugh, you’ll gasp, and you’ll find yourself fully invested in their story.
The gameplay is balanced perfectly—there’s plenty of action, but also thoughtful moments that make you feel like you're truly part of Jade’s journey. The atmosphere, the environments, and the characters all come together to create a world that’s as charming as it is mysterious.
Whether you’re reminiscing about childhood memories or stepping into the world for the first time, Beyond Good and Evil™ has that rare quality that makes it feel timeless. It’s an adventure you’ll never forget, and one that’ll make you wish more games had the same heart and soul. 🐷✨
Highly recommended for anyone who loves great storytelling, unforgettable characters, and a world worth exploring.

This was a good game. Shame it got delisted from Steam. Kinda the reason why I started the Delisted Games Watch, along with all the other delistings of 2024. At least it's still available on GOG! Go get that version if you're interested in this game!
i finished playing this on console. the controls suck on both but this was a great game. traumatizing ending. kind of wish i didnt play it but i did it for double H. I love this game. I hate it. where's the next one?
It's a shame the original is no longer available. Aside from learning to not look with the mouse, the game is very good.
Good
If 2 ever come out, I'll hit da dougie.
:)
A wonderful, imperishable classic from that times of better Ubisoft... I'm upset after the message "At the request of the publisher, Beyond Good and Evil™ is unlisted on the Steam store and will not appear in search."
It would be better for us to have this game than a bunch of what ubisoft has been producing in recent years. and I leave my recommendation for this game as a memory of the good times.
a great classic
Cool game
The game is good and worth a purchase. Better than I was expecting. It is a mix or Zelda, Starfox Adventures, and suprisingly Metal Gear Solid with the sneaking mechanics and I would say because of the quality of the cutscenes. This is an RPG with actual in-world objects representing the numerical statistics in traditional RPG's, so you not looking at a bunch of numbers. It is about a 10 to 15 hour game depending on if you are a full completionist or not, but if you know what you are doing you can beat it much faster.
Story, gameplay, dialog, graphics and music are all great but I never did like the art style that was kinda prevalent back then that made human characters look off in the faces. My only negatives include the camera being difficult, particularly in smaller rooms, the control of the hovercraft was off too, and a handful of times I would miss where I would need to go. Also, at the end of the game there is no warning that I cannot go back to the home world to complete side objectives.
Almost everything in the game had a high quality development feel to it if that makes sense...unfortunately games like this do not attract enough people to warrant more games or more sequels.
Also, I understand the title is suppose to have some moral implication of whether something being right or wrong related to the story but did not notice any kind of moral aspect. There was a clear bad and good side.
Highly recommended.
We need more games like this. Good combat, good art style. A combination of stealth and fighting, but not where it gets frustrating. One problem: I could not get either my controller or keyboard configured right. Maybe this was meant to be played on a PS2. Sadly this game will probably fall behind the shelf and be forgotten.
Please note that as of July 2024, GOG still has the original version of this game, and theirs works better than the Steam version anyway.
This game is excellent. Good writing, fun gameplay, and likeable characters. Combat feels snappy and freeform, although it is relatively simplistic. The companion NPCs are fun and useful. One of the better "follower"-type systems I have seen in a game.
There are also various puzzle and stealth sections that are fun. The gameplay of these cannot really compete with top-shelf titles like The Legend of Zelda or Metal Gear Solid, but it still does these things quite well.
I personally also really like the vibe of this game. It really captures that rebellious, anti-corporate, pro-liberty attitude of the 1990s and early 2000s.
Almost hard to believe that Ubisoft actually made good games 20 years ago. Too bad you cannot buy this one on Steam. But you still can on GOG!
Also if anyone wants to use the internet codes this site still works: bgemyth.net
Terrible PC port. Keeps running with french audio and artifacts in the menu. Looked at the guides and nothing worked. Such BS. Dont buy it here. Get it from GoG or other sources.
i miss you, OG
