Game isn't heading in a good direction as of now. Gives the appearance of a welcoming experience to new players but is mainly focused on you spending your first $1 like any other game does but more aggressive with it's approach. Blatant laziness of as of now with most designs of outfits, characters, events, and battlepasses.
1. Gameplay - (Ultimate $90 /Deluxe $60 Edition) You need this in order to function properly in game with P-Buffs (Base speed, shot success, Block (JSB and Drive In Shot Block). In order to get P-Buffs you need most of the characters that cost money (You can buy them individually which is $12 - $13? or you can spend the $60 - $90 USD). Without this you'll always be at a disadvantage and if you think you can handle not having any of these go ahead and waste your time to prove me wrong.
2. The " Player Skill" gap - Low tier games are not a good feel of how the game is played or who you'd face later on. Once you try high tier you will be greeted with "Shot impediment". Shot Impediment makes each shot you take with the players having this equipped that jump or even standing contest it much more. Expect most shots you take to be 25% more unlikely to not go in most matches. If you don't have Gold rarity cards or higher and shoot I would recommend praying that it'll go in. If you want to know about Silver rarity and below all I can say is to just pass and don't sell the match.
3. The game events and Outfits - The game events are there to simply keep you playing and to spend money (Surprising to nobody). They're more focused now on time spent with OK rewards to somewhat catch up to the current players. Outfits are getting lazier and as of now the past 2 months are nothing but re-skins and don't get me started in the battle pass which has LITERAL cardboard box-heads of animals and a shirt with the animal's face. I shouldn't have to say more but compared to the previous outfits which were OK at best this CURRENT one is low effort.
4. Characters (Paid) - Now to the new characters or should I say the answer to why you would suck if haven't played the game. New characters are getting more and more spoon fed to players who spent money. Dropped with the best skills in the game and base stats, if you don't have them and play this game I'd compare your experience to be like living off of food stamps until you cough up the money this game requires to be played at an OK level. Free characters (Coin characters or Red point Characters) are of little help to the whooping you'll be receiving in high tier.
5. Game balancing - Doesn't exist and probably won't. If you count dropping a new character with the solution than sure yea plenty.
The game has changed so gradually that I didn't even care because I just adapted to the change quickly. Now seeing at how little they care about my balancing suggestions and "rewards" I just choose to give up. They got me good because I do love what this game was and now that it's changed to a more greedy game than it already was. I honestly get a feeling that this game is a JOB to play because of events that are limited and day based. This just kept me playing everyday and not missing any of them.
This game could've been something but they just make it so unfriendly to newer players that I end up facing the same people who do the same garbage each time. Do they win? No. I honestly feel relief after I win a game against most players which isn't a good sign. I should be happy and having fun when playing a game.
Just don't play the game to honest. It's not worth anybody's time.

low tier matchmaking is full of noobs, no idea how to play, top tier matchmaking is heavy pay to win, so yeah have fun i guess?
It's like Overwatch...but a lot worse. There are so many better things to spend you time doing and better things to spend your money on. DO NOT waste ANY portion of your life on this game. Play something that has better communication in the game. You can play rpgs, other competitive games that don't have as much of a price wall and more of a skill wall, or you can pick up any skill in the real world that you can get payed to do when you get good and turn it into a side hustle. DON'T WASTE YOU TIME ON THIS GAME. If you are someone that hasn't played this game, you're already better than most of the people that regularly play this game. Don't lower yourself by picking this up. it rewards time and money not skill and they reward are too small resulting in having to play way too much to accumulate desirable rewards. THIS WILL COST A LOT OF TIME AND/OR A LOT OF MONEY TO COMPETE...YOU DO NOT EARN ANYTHING. YOU GAMBLE FOR EVERYTHING. Unless you're on low tier...and even then there are people that pay to win there( I'm gonna be brutally honest, if you pay to win in low tier...you really need a W in your life and that's the only place you're gonna get it). When i say a lot i mean either years to save up the little they give you or multiple racks(x>$1000) To be fair there is skill required to compete in this game and i don't mean any disrespect to the players in that aspect but this game is heavily pay to win with a huge price tag to have the things you need to compete either in money and/or time, the servers boot people out pretty regularly and even in your own region you and/or your teammates will rarely have a good connection for as long as i have had the game they haven't balanced any of the brokenly good character( to be fair, they're not impossible to deal with but they definitely less skill to play more to defend (Chloe and ayla sham god cross and jimmy's literally unblockable dunk(thats the description of the move)).) . PAY TO WIN EXPLAINEDI've been in some Reddit threads and seen how much some top players (SSS ranked) spend. These players spent thousands of dollars or in their words multiple racks to compete and get ability cards, p5 and p6 their characters, pbuffs, intensive skill balls, etc. You have to gamble to get everything you want/need to compete and that can take either a lot of money or a lot of time and top players apparently have the money and definitely seem to have the time. Ability cards for 3 point shot success rate, blocking resistance, block resist shot success rate(if this is high and the person blocking doesn't get a PERFECT block it will still go in the hoop(kinda my favorite)), defensive resistance, and steal success rate(if you get this high enough you don't even have to be that close to steal the ball from the opposing player(fun for you...not so much the other person.). You get these through packs where you spend money or tickets to gamble, get a ton of garbage no matter how much you spend, and get some of the things you want. pbuffs are like ability cards but they apply to positions(SG,PF,PG,C,AND SF) you still have to gamble but its not as bad.p5 and p6 are max prestiged characters. again a lot of time or a lot of money to do but you don't have to gamble so thats nice.intensive skill balls are for leveling up the skill you get for p6 characters. No gambling but still about 30-50 dollars.RANKED isn't nearly as bad sometimes because some ranked seasons ability cards,pbuffs, etc are disabled and its just how much you upgraded you're character and how skilled you are that will determine your rank but sometimes the season lets those things carry over. There are three top ranks S, SS, SSS. i reached SS in the more skill based season i last played so if the 200 hours of gameplay doesn't tell you i know this from exp at least let the rank help. (plus you only get SSS if you're the top 50 in the world and i've only played for a couple of months, cut some slack if SS ain't good enough for you)TOURNAMENT Ability cards, pbuffs, etc apply to this mode, I believe that is enough said.Thats really it. either stick to low tier or don't play high tier until you have some of those things...either after about half a year to year of grinding and/or half a grand to a couple of grands later. Also the top player base consists of those guys you play with at the park. Their heads are so far up their ends that they can't smell their own feces anymore. They are few players to actually get along with. Most players are not open to new players too. They can't understand that like alyl games it takes time to understand the game and execute good plays, shots, defense, etc. I even seen dude play mediocre and complain that they are carrying while they have nothing but points and everyone else has blocks, assists, rebounds, loose balls, and steals. They simply don't have the mentality, the cooperation, nor the understanding to win and that won't change anytime soon. As a result of that, the top 50 in each of their respective region is not going to change because the few that have what it takes to win already have the teammates they need. I'm going to end this on the same not as the beginning. DO NOT waste ANY portion of your life on this game. Play something that has better communication in the game. Yes been playing fs and fs2 for a while and thats a great upgrade.
I love the character system with the ability and skills makes it more balanced.
Matches are slower than fs2 course but i just like it more.
Im a fan thats for sure , game is growing as well right now ,its not dead.
Strong recommend.
