it is a very calming game even though ther are some levels that are really big and tiny things but over all is fun and chill

I never thought I'd get hooked on a game where you powerwash things, but here I am. This game is relaxing (To the point I was falling asleep, although it was my bedtime. Thankfully I didn't drop the Deck on my face!), runs well on the Deck, and just a fun simple game if you want to watch TV/YouTube/podcasts.

Well, let me first talk about the good points on 'Power Wash Simulator':

This game can be total brainp*rn if you're a lil perfectionist. It'll simply be asmr for your neurons.
I'm mostly playing Power Wash while listenin' to music and podcasts or playing coop with friends while we philosophize 'bout the meaning of life, -but even if you'll just stick around, listening to the game's soundtrack or the sounds of your high-pressure cleaner itself -it can be really meditative.

I'm also really in love with the devs's picked dlc choices, and the variety of achievements, but in spite of all, I can't recommend buying 'Power Wash Simulator':

'FuturLab' could be way more community connected and listen to customers statements.
There are many players in the steam forums posting the same bugs over and over, asking devs for help and updates, but devs just won't listen. They'll always say „we'll fix this” and two month later- still no fix, but a new payment related dlc.

I also had some bugs including one which broke my whole savegame and I had to reset und re-install the game so that I could play again.
Some bugs made the devs just posting a savegame file on their discord server and keep telling players to implement it to fix an occurring ingame bug..Well, I don't think players should be forced to join a discord server and download some random save file for their game's getting fixed again. Why don't just fix the game data and release an update on steam..?

Another bug made my high-pressure cleaner spilling no water anymore.
So..you'll maybe understand that this isn't really productive in a power wash cleaner simulator..
In order to fix this issue, I had to: uninstall all dlcs, reset story campaign progress, start campaign again, finish first campaign level, close game, re-open it, start first campaign level again and tadaaa: -water back again. (That's btw a "solution" the community found out by themselves, devs stayed silent.)
...Annoying. And at least that didn't worked for all players, so there are some sad souls out there whom bought all FutureLab's dlcs and highly enjoyed them, but now having a fully broken and unplayable game while devs keep ignoring them.

Not so nice.

My ADHD is kept satisfied and I managed to sit trough hours of cleaning focused, BUT started seeing IRL mess trough game lens, send help

my go-to relaxing game if i want to de-stress. graphic is 10/10 and literally no thoughts head empty just washy wash i love this game so much

I find it hard to switch off. PowerWash Sim does that for me. Time spills into the abyss and I come out the other side rested and satisfied. Only downside is I notice all the powerwash-able dirt when I go outside.

I want this to get large map packs forever.

Game is great and fun, but currently Dev's give a f*** about their customers.

Buying DLC's break the game, like the latest DLC which made the game unplayable (washer no longer working) and constant crashes.

This really shouldn't happen and the fixes take way too long.

If you really want this game, get the base game on a sale, but don't dare to buy any DLC's.

Atm the Devs don't deserve it, because they don't react, don't help, don't care.

Will update this review when devs put more focus on getting their stuff sorted, instead of greed.

I have over 180 hours in this game. I used to love playing. Before the latest update this review would have been glittering.

BUT

As of recent updates all of the save files are corrupted and the game is fully unplayable. No water, no cleaning, no progress, no loading into some levels and so on.

The devs have only offered the solution of delete all save files (all 180+ hours of them) and start over; OR copy and paste some files provided by their discord community. It's now been over 2 weeks with no answers from the devs since the latest DLC and update happened. Great concept of a game, shame the devs seem to have just stopped caring about their community.

I wish there was a "maybe recommend" option. The core game is great, and I would recommend it for people who do not want to complete more than the basic levels and who do not care to get all achievements. But the developer only makes new content available for additional purchase. So, once you've completed the levels in the core game, you cannot advance any further or gain the rest of the achievements without shelling out more money for each new level released.

Latest update bricked my game permanently and the only solution is to delete my save. I don't care how many hours I have in this, I'm asking for a refund since they basically made it unplayable for me.

its fun for sure, i cant stop playing, but if you want to get all the achievements you need to buy all the dlc, and then when more comes out it means more achievements. putting achievements behind a paywall is a little stinky

Love the game. I've put more hours in on the Quest 3 in VR and tend to favour that release. I do miss the ability to teleport to particular places for the Steam version but it's well worth the second purchase to enjoy all of the seasonal packs and DLC. Plays really well on steam deck and scratches that organizing/cleaning itch just right. Recent Halloween and Summer Cruise specials are amazing and generously included in the base game.

This is actually a really good game. very funny and weird too.

however... its a $25 game with $40 of DLC (so far), much of which has bad reviews. and the majority of the achivements are for the DLC levels. the free DLC levels include tomb raider and final fantasy 7 levels. the paid stuff includes warhammer 40k and spongebob.

i was playing again, as they do add new free levels every so often, which led to trying to get more achivements. and its just not worth the money for the DLC.

perfect game to play and chill out while listening to things. also a really fun story that i was not expecting. come for the satisfying pressure washing, stay for the weirdly engaging narrative that unfolds.

Its an incredibly satisfying experience! Quite the relaxing gameplay. The graphics are pretty okay, and the variety of surfaces and objects to wash keeps things kinda interesting. And I do love the little messages you can in the mist of cleaining. Highly recommend for anyone looking for simple relaxing somewhat easy task performance stuff. The DLCs tho kinda it or miss don't have any besides the free one which are pretty great but was going to get the Warhammer one but it only had 5 levels so no thank you would preffer something bigger tho the Shreck one does seem interesting and fun.

Is much better than I originally anticipated, It's nice to listen to music and vibe out. 25 hours and I still have most of the additional content to do.

i don't like writing rewiews but this is the best single player game i've ever played, highly addictive, it just feels super rewarding and satisfying completing those jobs and upgrading your gear and just finishing the career mode idk autist simulator i guess

I find it incredible that a game based on the most monotonous and satisfying task could gain the popularity that this game did. It is unbelievable to me that a game made around a concept that is nearly antithetical to the instant gratification associated with video games is done so well. Bravo!

This is a great game. Very relaxing, like tedious but in a good way. The story isn't too long and has some surprising twists. Very fun!

The gameplay itself is polished and enjoyable--I've sunk 90 hours into it. However, I am a completionist; 100%ing games is where I derive a lot of my joy and it is important to me. As of now, I am at 44% completion in this game because the rest of the achievements are locked behind DLC. Buying all of the DLC would cost I believe over twice the amount as the base game. I find DLC locked achievements--especially to this extent--to be an unsavory business practice. If you are a completionist like me, don't buy this game if you aren't willing to sink 60+ dollars into it.

Very good game. I find nothing wrong with it. Washing things with high pressure water is so satisfying!

The game invites you to embrace your inner perfectionist while also letting you unleash your stress in the most satisfying way possible. PowerWash Simulator may be about cleaning, but it’s anything but boring. Dive in and get messy.

This was so much more fun than I even expected to begin with. I've played similar games before, most notably I have dozens of hours in House Flipper, but I did not expect PWS to hit me with such a fun little story in addition to the satisfying gameplay.

Since I played solo, there were points in some of the longer levels that the story was what kept me going through unbearable finger pain.

It's a great experience and worth every cent. My only caveat is that if you have ADHD you WILL hyperfocus and you WILL cause yourself physical pain and forget to eat or drink.

10/10 would wash again

Really good game to just sit back and relax while cleaning some dirt. It also feel quite satisfying when you clean and see the progress. The main campaign takes long to finish and then there are many bonus jobs you can complete.

It can keep you entertained for few tents of hours. Relaxing and satisfying game. Definitely recommending.

i love this game, i have over 100 hours in it. but with the latest dlc that came out on 10/10(Shrek) the game had game breaking bugs. the devs have spent this time ignoring people on twitter and providing no updates on it except for people to delete their saves as someone with the hours i have. im not doing it and its a slap in the face to the players this has the my or even more hours. ill update this if/when the devs fix this bug instead of posting about the dlc and taking peoples money.

The Most Satisfying Dirt-Fighting Experience Ever! I never thought I'd be this emotionally invested in virtual dirt, but here we are. PowerWash Simulator is my happy place—a game where I can blast away grime like I'm some sort of high-powered hose wizard. It's like therapy, but cheaper and with way more dirt.

There’s nothing quite like watching years of caked-on filth disappear in seconds, like magic—except, you know, with water. The brain-tingling satisfaction of seeing something go from "disaster zone" to "sparkling clean" is my ultimate chill-out. I keep coming back for more, and every time they add new content, it's like a gift from the dirt gods themselves.

If you’ve ever dreamed of being the unsung hero in the battle against stubborn stains (and who hasn’t?), this game is for you. Highly recommend.

This game is regularly one of my go to games for a Zen, chill game to play and relax. The DLCs are all fun but some are a bit better than others.

Alice in Wonderland - Very fun and lots to see and do. - 9/10
Back to the Future - If you grew up with these movies its a must have. - 10/10
Shrek - Very nice and well crafted levels - 9/10
Warhammer - Lots of very intricate ares to get to to clean. The last level is a long one as well. - 7/10
Spongebob - If you are a fan it's probably more fun but wasn't my fav. - 6/10

All other DLC are free at the time of writing this so I would say pick them up if you have the game.

Absolutely godawful implementation of co-op.

DO NOT GET THIS FOR CO-OP.

To explain in brief and simplistic terms: You clean to get money, you spend money on upgrades and cosmetics.

This game has co-op, where both players can progress.

Sounds neat, right?

Nope!

The developers decided that the best approach to co-op in this game would initially be the co-op player getting NO MONEY WHATSOEVER, and then changed it quite a bit later to give the co-op partner a whopping 25% of the pay, which considering that was a conscious decision, giving the co-op partner any form of reward whatsoever must have been a decision they made very, very begrudgingly.

This game outright punishes your co-op partner by making them do four times the work just to have access to the same amount of tools that you did for doing a quarter of the amount of work they'll have to do to get the same amount of money.

Horrific implementation of co-op so utterly insulting to my partner's time and enjoyment that I have been turned off from ever purchasing copies for us in the future. Absolutely not recommended, not even remotely if you want any form of fun with a partner without them having to do basically the whole game in single player first to have any funds to work with, otherwise they'll spend your whole career using a fraction of the gear upgrades as you through no fault of their own.

TL;DR Co-op partner gets paid 25% of what they should and thus cripples their ability to buy important upgrades and fun cosmetics while the host gets to enjoy all these things at a normal pace, a very deliberate decision by the developer. The oft-suggested "solution" to this is "just go through the campaign yourself to get funds first!". Turned me off ever giving this game another chance. Do not support a game that claims to be all about fun with friends that actively punishes the friends who aren't the host.

Soothing, relaxing, mindless... not only is this game loads of fun on it's own, but it provides just the amount of mindless interaction to get me through an audiobook. I used to love to read and was an avid reader in my youth, but now I'd always rather be gaming. With Powerwash Simulator, I can do both!

Side effect: It's made me wanna quit my office job and open up a powerwashing business! :P

After beating the career mode, I'll add a disappointing note - you unlock the best tools and can't wait to use them? Too bad, the dlc packs all force you to use the stupid 'required brushes' the first time washing, so you can't use the good stuff unless you're just mucking around in free play =/

I have a stressful job, sometimes I just want to engage in a game with no stress (dungeons) and enjoy the results of completing an area.

This game is completely worth the money in every way possible. The amount of joy and relaxation, plus replayability is copious. Please play this game and revel in the eternal happiness you shall experience.

I'm just a tad bit addicted to this game by completing it multiple times with some of the DLCs. It's a really fun casual, relaxing game and the story is quite funny cause I didn't expect it.

PowerWash Simulator is a great game for just passing time. It's time-consuming but not boring. The DLCs add some really fun stuff (Back to the Future was awesome), but my favorite part is following the Muckingham Files storyline.

I love how simple yet enjoyable this game is! Super fun to play if your bored or just want to relax!

It is one of those games that you look at an say, no way. Then you play it thinking you'll just relax for a few minutes. 2-hours later and you're feverishly racking up money and looking clean while you do it!

This is an adhd gamers dream. I cannot express in words how much I love this game. This is my comfort game. I love that they continually put out new things and are constantly improving the game. Would love to have a pool cleaning DLC!! I love replaying levels and trophy hunting. I actually own this on multiple platforms but my favorite way to play is on the steamdeck. If your on the fence, run don't walk and get it!

This game helps me unwind and have fun at the same time. I do not ask for much, but this game seems to tickle my brain.

Ever played a game for 2 hours, got frustrated at your in game income, had aching hands, and played for another 2 hours to get a range extension, than realized you have chores to handle and work tomorrow and wasted half of your day?

Game gives me Task™️.
Task™️ is simple, but takes a long time.
I can take as long as I want to finish Task™️.
When Task™️ is done I feel accomplished, and I move to the next Task™️.
Game makes me feel like less of a failure.

Wow never in a million years would I say this type of game is fun but I cannot put this one down.

Honestly if someone told me to clean in reality I would tell them to go jump in the lake but this is heavily addicting and I'm only two hours in.

The simple but satisfying game loop is more than enough to keep my dopamine receptors firing.

Take a contract, clean the level then upgrade your power washer and use various nozzles depending on the outdoor surface.

Power wash sim is great if you are looking to simply disengage your mind and chill since this is quite a zen type game and a simple pick up and play.

expensive, but worth the money. addictive and enjoyable. great for grinding solo or socializing with friends. i even use it as a sleep aid for others - they'll get on call with me and drift off to the relaxing sound of my power washer taking care of business. overall a wonderful game and i haven't even finished the main story mode yet!

This game may sound boring, however it isn't. It's relaxing in a way that I wasn't expecting, and that makes me happy :)

Game so good I bought it twice. I first saw this during 2020 when some streamers I follow posted videos playing it. I immediately got it and have no regrets. For those who want to feel productive without being stressed.

The best way to describe this game is it's a nice relaxing game where you can go at your own doing doing jobs.

PowerWash Simulator is a game that I really want to like a lot more than I do. and, it's something where to make it ultimately way more enjoyable wouldn't be all that complicated, but seeing as to how I've found countless threads on the topic going back to 2022, I don't imagine much will change.

PowerWash Simulator is a game about....cleaning things with a pressurized jet of water. You get sent into absolutely filthy locations (ones where you spend more time wondering how it could have gotten into this shape than actually cleaning) and your job is to make it clean. But, you knew that already. I'd be very surprised if there's anyone out there that doesn't know the game, whether they've played it before or not.

Now, all of my complaints are very mild, but the game is good enough where the small things really stand out.
-The biggest frustration is how the existing systems for finding uncleaned surfaces is great when you're at 50%, but not so much at 99%. That last 1% inevitably ends up being one last item with a bit of dirt in some deep crack where the orange glow from Tab is hidden from view and the HP bar shows every item as fully clean. So, you spend an hour having a lovely time....and then another hour, wandering around the level looking for what you're missing.
-Another is the "Twitter" feed. No, I don't really care how ignoreable it is for others, it's distracting and annoying for me. Unfortunately, there's no option in the settings to disable it.
-Something else that I understand why it's there, but is frustrating nonetheless is how the targeting reticle and the jet of water only have a casual relationship. I'm sure it's trying to "realism" or whatever, but come on. I can stand on a rooftop at a 75° angle while spraying a pressure washer. Having the jet of water spray where the targeting reticle is pointing to wouldn't "break the immersion".

Thankfully, the rest of the game is quite solid and I've only encountered two bugs. One, occasionally player movement will slow to a crawl. Initially, I thought it might be caused by walking on grime or angled slopes, but I've also had it happen on clean ground right at spawn. The other is Aim Mode binding seems to be permanently borked. Every time I load up the game, it's showing me a tooltip, but showing a key from another function (usually, WASD) and that key changes every time the game is launched. And rebinding Aim Mode changes nothing. Neither of these have been a big enough deal to cause problems, so hey. Great job. Well done.

Otherwise, the game is lovely and enjoyable. It's a nice way to make my attention deficit happy and kill a few hours while watching a video essay on another monitor. I just wish that It was just that tiny little bit better so I could give it an enthusiastic recommendation.

This game is amazingly fun and relaxing, unless you're trying to find that last tiny bit of dirt somewhere that's hiding behind something else! Anyway, just get it. I've been enjoying this game for over 60 hours so far and it's so nice to get pulled into something so chill. ProTip: catch up on your podcasts or listen to a chill classical track at the same time since there's no music included in the game. I really like being able to choose what I listen to while I play, so the lack of music does not bother me at all.
