The Steam version contains English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, and Japanese text options with Japanese voice acting. It also enjoys Steam Cloud support.

Good romance VN.
Senren Banka is a visual novel with a bit more focus on action, mystery, and supernatural elements, compared to other similar visual novels. As somebody that reads mostly slice-of-life visual novels, I picked it up in order to try something different from what I normally read.
This is a modern VN, with all the usual quality-of-life features you'd expect a modern VN to have. If you've read other VNs before, you should know what to expect. However, this VN has two additional features that I find very useful and don't see very often, and I hope more VNs in the future include these features.
The first is a flowchart that shows every choice you make. This makes starting another route convenient, as you can easily see what choices you've made, then go back and make different choices.
The second is a timer that shows how long each voice line will last. There are many instances where the Japanese sentence is long but the English translation is short (or vice versa), so in most VNs, I end up waiting a few seconds after each voice line, just to ensure I don't miss anything. The timer is a huge time saver that makes reading VNs much less stressful.
I like how "well-rounded" the story is. It has a decent mix of comedic moments, serious moments, intense moments, and emotional moments. It has something that appeals to everybody (which also makes it a good choice for beginners).
One thing that I found unique, is how good the common route is. In most stories, the common route is just to set up the characters, setting, and plot, but here, the common route is a full, self-contained story. It's great that the story wastes no time in drawing in the reader's attention. Once the common route is finished, each character route further explore the mystery from different angles. Speaking of routes, you can more or less do them in any order, but there's a few caveats if you want to maximize your experience:
- Make sure you do Lena's route before Mako's.

While Senren Banka wasn't my favorite, it was still a decently fun read, and a worthwhile addition for both beginners and visual novel enthusiasts.

I pity her solitude, so I chose her over Yoshino for the first route to clear. But nonetheless, she's cute as hell.
Saying something serious, the game's very smooth. It is very easy to get into and as easy to read through. There are good humours, there are story hooks and there are cute girls. Wow. The 'chibi' sprites are adorable, and the way the sprites change expression as the conversation goes is very natural. It's just super well-made with details that really spell out how much thoughts the devs had put into the game.
If you are new to visual novel, this is a must try. If you are familiar with VN but haven't played Seren Banka, then what are you waiting for. The only downside I can imagine people facing is that the game focuses a lot on traditional Japanese elements like Kimono and rural Japanese stuff, without too much exploration into the modern Japanese society or modern Japan in general(as far as I've went within the 11 hours). Or that the game plot isn't 'serious' enough. Although there is a logical and believable plot, you can perhaps tell the main course is still the daily interaction and cute girls, it won't be a story that's such a knee slapper you wish you had seen it the moment you had eyes and learnt how to read.

One of the most captivating visual novels I've played. It offers a unique and engaging story, entertaining characters, and plenty of content. This game does a few things better than many other visual novels:
- The common route (shared between characters) is only 3 hours long. This is good because you get to spend more time focused on each of the individual characters whose routes are at least 4 hours long.
- The game provides a built-in flowchart so it's extremely easy to switch choices and try a new route.
[*]Each character route is completely unique so you'll spend the entire time learning new things about the story and characters without feeling the need to skip past anything.
Keep in mind, if this type of cutesy VN interests you, than by all means buy and enjoy it. It appeals to the moege audience quite well. I’m just writing my opinion on it all.
Before I begin, I should preface by saying that this review only covers the common route and main heroine routes, excluding the ‘normal’ ending and each of the side routes. I may make adjustments to the review once I’ve 100%ed the game, but I feel that ultimately won’t be necessary; I will elaborate on this later.
Overall, Senren Banka was probably one of the most mediocre things I’ve read through, and eventually found myself flipping through the text at faster and faster speed because it simply couldn’t hold my interest from how repetitive it was. Senren Banka is about a group of heroines affected by the local curse to varying degrees, and the story resolves the conflict of the curse in different ways depending on which route you choose. Unfortunately, the plot of Yuzusoft VNs is never their (strong) point, so don’t expect anything crazy with this one, either. Piecing the main plot together through the different routes might be fun, but I picked the story-heavy route on my blind playthrough, so I’m probably not the best to give my opinion on it as a whole. That being said, if you plan to 100% the game, save Lena’s route for last, as otherwise you’ll get bored during the other routes afterward since you’ll already know everything the other routes allude to, plot-wise. If you only wish to play through one route – which I couldn’t even blame you for this VN, all the routes feel very much the same in flow – than just play Lena’s right off the bat.
Choosing a route is incredibly simple and straight-forward: for the main routes, you’ll basically never miss any of the route branches on accident. There are guides out there if you need one. So far, I have played Lena, Murasame, Mako, and Yoshino in that order, and perhaps it was just me getting bored, but I gleaned less and less enjoyment from each subsequent route. They’re very much written the same, and the pacing of said writing will constantly be giving you this whiplash effect. Sure, common routes are usually pretty slow and mild, given their propensity toward character development, but once you head down a route the writing really just goes full throttle and ruins the pacing. This isn’t mitigated by the fact that the characters themselves almost feel like different characters before and after their route is solidified – basically, as soon they confess, each of them turn into huge horndogs outta nowhere – including MC, who generally suffers from VN MC syndrome of being pretty bland but ‘thoughtful and kind’ (with THE GENERIC-ASS MC DESIGN). Unfortunately, this degradation of the story toward depravity seems to happen every single route, and things get very repetitive, very fast.
Side characters are pretty good and do what they need to do, and the heroines stay relevant (aka, present) in routes that are not their own, so that’s a big plus. Like many VNs, the main conflicts of each heroine when it’s not their route and swept under the rug and conveniently forgotten, or mentioned very briefly before being discarded without any development. I understand its not their time in the spotlight, but it’s always just irksome to see these huge plot points in one route suddenly not matter at all in the others. *cough* *cough* Murasame’s route *cough*
I covered it a bit already, but the overall tone of this VN is light-hearted and ‘cutesy’, and that’s probably what most readers are looking for anyway. While it does that well, if you’re looking for anything deeper you’re obviously in the wrong spot. When the plot does get serious to any degree, it feels pigeon-holed and usually isn’t allowed to go on for long – they simply must have immediate comic relief, and I’m generally not a fan of that. Many times I caught myself having to partially rewind and reread plot-relevant backlog, because I was half-reading some characters talking about sex or the MC and heroine being lovey-dovey for the 30th time that chapter. This abruptness between serious and light-hearted/horny moments was painfully common, hence the constant whiplash I mentioned earlier. Many scenes felt like a struggle to get through because they simply appeased the moege/eroge target audience and didn’t really contribute anything else, and overall it got super predictable and boring. Speaking of, I did not download the patch for H scenes, but I doubt I missed much.
The art is pretty good! The characters look solid and BGs are about what one could expect from a VN of this calibur. The transition effects between chapters were pleasant, and the chibi-style CGs were super cute. Some of the CGs where they were making out were a bit weird, and you can obviously tell they only edited the mouths to make them different.
The BGM and OST wasn’t bad, nothing to write home about but never got irritating after almost thirty hours. Here and there you might wish they recorded a few more tracks, but that’s its biggest offense. Overall sound design wasn’t bad, either – if you’re the type to enjoy all the sounds of them making out, you’ll have a hay day. The voice acting itself was pretty great, especially Lena’s; I would often cycle the backlog trying to get her line to pop up, it’s quite pleasing.
Senren Banka’s game design (i.e., interface) was detailed and had plenty of features I didn’t even know I wanted in a VN until I had them – the ‘panic’ button was appreciated, and being able to favorite certain voice lines was a nice little feature for some of the funnier moments. Being able to skip to the next scene/choice and visualize the branches was a pleasant touch and I do give props for that.
Overall, do I regret playing this VN? No. I’ll finish through the rest of the routes to 100% it, even though I know I’ll probably get bored or cringe many more times; I wouldn’t do that if I straight-up disliked a VN. It’s nothing I’ll personally be writing home or recommending to people, but I sense it’s simply because I’m not its target audience. If you *are* into moeges than this is probably worth picking up on a sale, just don’t expect anything stellar in terms of plot or route individuality.
After experiencing this game without purchasing it initially, I felt compelled to support the developers by buying their product.
The story itself wasn’t groundbreaking, but it was enjoyable and engaging in its own way.
I found the relationships in the game so happy and harmonious that it made me wish real-life relationships could be the same. It also inspired me to strive for my own happiness.
Overall, I can wholeheartedly recommend this game.

Introduction
The story takes place in the fictional Japanese town of Hoori. The main character, Masaomi Arichi, arrives in town to help his grandfather, Genjuurou, run the family inn. Upon his arrival, he reunites with his childhood friend, Roka, who takes him to the inn. There, Masaomi meets one of the inn’s employees, and later, they head to the Takemi Shrine, where he witnesses a dance performed by the Shrine Princess, Yoshino Tomotake, which leaves him deeply impressed. Soon after, Masaomi meets his cousins, Rentarou and Koharu, and finally his grandfather, Genjuurou. Genjuurou then asks Masaomi to try drawing the divine sword Murasamemaru, a legendary blade that no one has ever been able to move. Masaomi, not expecting much, attempts to draw the sword, but to everyone’s shock, the sword snaps in half.

Route Descriptions and Reviews
1. Yoshino Route:
This route explores the relationship between Yoshino and Masaomi, which begins with an awkward arranged marriage. Neither is happy about the engagement, and their initial interactions feel strained. Over time, though, they grow closer as they fight against the curse that haunts them. Yoshino tries to express her affection by making lunches for Masaomi, but he is too dense to notice. Eventually, Masaomi realizes he has fallen for Yoshino and nervously proposes, fearing rejection, but Yoshino happily accepts. Her father is thrilled with the news. On their first date, they struggle with how to act in public and escape to the mountains, where they share their first kiss. This moment unexpectedly triggers the curse within Masaomi to transfer to Yoshino, causing her to grow dog ears, which sends Masaomi into a panic. They return home and seek medical advice, where they learn the curse has returned. Soon after, Yoshino falls gravely ill. A ritual is prepared to destroy the curse once and for all. During the ritual, Yoshino falls unconscious and encounters the curse spirit inside her soul. She relives memories from her past and has an emotional conversation with her deceased mother. Finally, Yoshino uses Murasamemaru to defeat the curse, freeing herself from its influence.
2. Murasama Route:
Murasama’s route deals primarily with her being a ghost tied to the divine sword Murasamemaru and Hoori’s financial struggles. After Masaomi calls off his engagement with Yoshino, Murasama encourages him to stay with the Tomotake family, despite no longer being engaged. Masaomi agrees, but his grandfather insists he must work hard to help out. The town’s economy begins to suffer after the sword-pulling event is canceled, and tourism plummets. To find a solution, Masaomi and Murasama survey the remaining tourists but struggle to find an alternative event that can draw interest. As they work together, Murasama and Masaomi grow closer. They go on a date to the local café, after they go home Murasama confesses her love for him, and they spend their first night together. The next day, a crisis arises when Yoshino and Mako reveal that the divine barrier protecting the shrine has weakened. Upon investigating, they discover that Murasama's original body is the divine vessel. They make the difficult decision to return Murasama to her body to become human again, knowing that her body is ill. Rushing her to the doctor, they learn about her illness and successfully treat her. Masaomi realizes that to save the town, he must restore the sword-pulling event, so he trains intensely to stab the sword back into the rock. After weeks of effort, he succeeds in re-establishing the event, saving the town’s economy, while Murasama fully recovers from her sickness.
3. Mako Route:
This route focuses on the strong friendship between Mako and Masaomi. After calling off the engagement with Yoshino, Masaomi notices Mako has forgotten her wallet and goes to return it to her. As they talk, they reflect on their families and deepen their bond. However, the next day, while Mako is cleaning the shrine, she is possessed by a cursed spirit and turns into a dog. Desperate for help, she seeks out Masaomi and Yoshino, who bring her home. Masaomi washes her, which turns her back into a human, but they remain concerned. They visit the doctor, where they begin to speculate that the curse might be seeking to experience love. Unsure of how to proceed, they stage a fake date to test the theory. During the date, Mako and Masaomi realize their feelings for each other are genuine. The following day, Mako transforms into a dog again at school, but Masaomi reverses the change with blessed water. That night, Mako speaks with the cursed spirit in her dreams. The spirit asks what she sees in Masaomi, and after hearing her explanation, the spirit agrees not to turn her into a dog again. They then go on a real date and share their first intimate moment. A few days later, the spirit saves them from a speeding car and retreats to the forest. In a final encounter near the shrine, the spirit asks to be killed, and Mako and Masaomi carry out the ritual, allowing the spirit to finally find peace.
4. Lena Route:
Lena’s route centers around her connection to the curse and her eventual merging with the medium. As a transfer student, Lena is drawn into the supernatural events surrounding Masaomi and the divine sword. After a sleepover together, both Lena and Masaomi experience a shared dream, where they witness a conversation between the Goddess of Jewels, Murakumo, and the God of Beasts, Shirokoma. In these dreams, they learn about the origins of Murasamemaru and see how Murakumo’s love for a samurai goes unfulfilled as he marries another woman. Despite this, Murakumo feels happy for him, but when she sees that his child will die at birth, she sacrifices herself to save the child. Through these dreams, Lena and Masaomi gain a deeper understanding of the curse's origins. With this knowledge, they prepare a ritual to communicate with the curse spirit, hoping to convince it to stop tormenting the Tomotake family. The ritual is a success, and Lena and Masaomi are able to persuade the spirit to release its hold on the family, bringing an end to its influence.
5. Koharu/Roka Route:
This route centers around the business of the local café. Masaomi helps out and comes up with new ideas for products. The route then splits between Koharu and Roka, depending on who Masaomi decides to show his ideas to.
Overall Opinion
The game is great, though it's best to wait for a discount. Some parts become monotonous, but overall, it’s a rewarding experience. I highly recommend it.

Went into Senren Banka with 0 expectations as I just picked up on a whim. Little did I know it would become one of my Top 5 VNs. Super solid cast of characters and a great MC. The main story is interesting and each route takes a unique approach to adding to it.
Shinzo abe gave up fixing the declining birth rate of japan and dropped this peak to tank the birth rate of everywhere else.

You could say it's a fantasy genre, especially since the biggest fantasy is foreign tourists speaking fluent japanese
Fantastic game.
However, the only route I recommend is Murasame, the sword lady. All the other ladies are boring, in my opinion.
There's already a ton of reviews regarding Senren Banka, so I'm going to make this relatively short.
Senren Banka in my opinion is the most balanced Yuzusoft visual novel out in English to date. Because of that balance, it rates as the best Yuzusoft title for me by a small margin. It still has some pacing issues - especially in Lena's route due to a lore dump - but overall it's fairly solid. In my opinion the routes are very close to each other in quality, and none of them are standouts. I enjoyed all of them to a decent extent and I feel they all had their high moments. It's worth calling out that this title has 4 main heroines and 2 sub heroines as opposed to the 4/1 split that most Yuzusoft titles in English have had (Noble Works being the other outlier with 5 main heroines and the sub route being miniscule).
Systems and BGM are what you'd expect from this developer at this point - straightforward. Flowchart is included, BGM that fits the scenes and setting well, and individualized ED's for each heroine. There are 24 H-scenes present in this VN of about normal quality for Yuzu and the moege scene in general.
Overall I'd recommend this to any Yuzusoft or moege fan. It won't blow you away at any part, but it's solid and it will be satisfying.

Some dialogue voices got switched to incorrect places when devs were making change to the "adult scenes". So you have no choice but to use the "back to adult version" patch, even if you don't care about nude girls.
