Even though i don't like Rhythm games i had fun with the game, probably it's the collecting part the got me.

Very fun game and very difficult too which adds up to the fun. I really recommand it!

Very fun with mods (there's a good guide on Reddit for that). A fun party game to try with friends.

i bought this game 8.4 hours ago. i now have all achievements, i speak baboon, i've brought chaos to the world of music, i've turded and tooted, done deals with the devil, and all i can hear in my head in the farting trombone sound...

best 17 dollars i ever spent.

This game takes a fun idea and perfects it.

The devs not only flesh out the idea and gameplay, but they do it thoughtfully with large doses of fun and playfulness.

I love coming back every once and a while and giving a crack at the new tracks they've added (even a couple years after release!).

Best. Game. Ever. Finished it in three days and will be playing again randomly over the years

Honestly I thought I bought the VR edition, so was slightly disappointed to find out this is not the case. I decided to give the game a try anyway.

After a few hours of me trying to not totally rape the songs with my non existing Trombone skills my husband begged me to stop because his ears were bleeding.

Funny game to play... RSI risk due to lot of clicking,. Be careful for bleeding ears of you and those around you! Def. recommended for some casual fun. 7.5/10

I played Trombone in middle school and although that was a good experience. Playing Trombone Champ is a great one.

Interesting game. This is not one of the typical rhythm game you would expect (like the ones with a bunch of tryhards going for 100% accuracy on the craziest pieces), it is very much less serious and goofy so if you are not a tryhard you will definitely enjoy it. However I would say it is only worth it when on sale (I bought it for 6.12 Canadian dollars)

P.S. It is easy to get all achievements, I got it within 5 hours. However if you are going for achievement "ENGOLDENATION GOD", make sure you check the guide in community, it can save you hours (the method works as of the time this comment is posted)

I like this game because there are a lot of fun secrets and the songs are great!! I would def recommend if u like rhythm games and wacky games

This game is not only very silly fun, but is also very educational. The trombone facts are mind-blowing!

the game is alright but game is so grindy and the achievements are so time consuming, s ranking all levels started getting boring around the 20 song mark so getting to 30 was just boring, it isn't even hard or anything you just have to keep playing 2 minute songs

Please add official support for controllers & Steam Deck!

This game is designed to be played with m&k and has no support for other modes. There is a community layout using the gyro but it was very unreliable for me and would randomly set the cursor way too high.

Playing trombone badly is funny but it isn't really viable on Steam Deck, TBH this should be marked as 'unsupported' rather than 'playable' or at least have specific warnings about controls.

Sometimes, if I'm struggling on a song, ill pull out a real trombone just to prove to myself that I can play it. 10/10 would play instead of practicing my instrument.

Just loved it. Funniest game I've played in a while.
Main mechanic is easy to understand, but harder levels become challenge while still sounding really funny.

As a pro Osu player, I think the idea behind this game is very cool, but the execution is awful. There’s no way this is worth the $12 they’re asking for, it’s a $1 game.

There are a ton of problems with it:

The latency is unplayable. I don't know how the devs managed to make a game as simple as this so laggy, what are those devs smoking?
You can’t set a custom resolution, and the list of supported resolutions is small and super weird.
There aren’t enough songs. You can easily get through all of them in one evening.
Each song only has one difficulty, so you can’t choose how hard you want it to be. Because of that, about half the songs are way too easy and not even worth playing.

Overall its worth buying if its on sale for 1 or 2 dollars, but you will get bored and will run out of songs quick, not a real rythm game.

Fun game, easy to pick up. It is a relatively quick game (I was able to beat the many story in around 4hrs) but it does contain a sizable amount of content. You are able to play however you like and still complete the story -- that is, there is no punishment for playing easier songs or for playing poorly. If you want to, you can attempt some songs that are almost downright impossible. Trombone Champ is also incredibly absurd, making the whole experience a lot more fun. The game is incredibly memorable as well, and is one of those games you can come back to if you want to show your friends something cool, or if it's just a rainy day and you have nothing to play.

Funny trombone game. Really one of the funniest rhythm games and it gets hard once you get farther. Really enjoyed it 11/10. Fire game, also only beat it within these hours so not even that long of a game either still one of the best rhythm games I've played

I've played way too much of this in the space of 2 days that I am dreaming about trombones. I can hear the sound of the trombone tooting whilst I'm laying in my bed at night. I try and focus on something else but all I can think about is this game.

Never have i ever loved something so much. Played it once. Couldn't turn it off for the next 72 hours of my life. Trombone is my life. I love this game and my life. Because trombone game made me who i am today.

Good game, you can do toot toot for hours, great song variety, you can mod it, and it doesnt take more than 17 to platinate it

Never have i been Hooked by a Rhythm game as much as this one simple and straightforward gameplay with some nice humor, Truly an amazing experience.
Very worth whatever price.

I don't really understand the appeal of Trombone Champ if you can't play it with friends. There's no online mode and you can't play couch coop because the game has no controller support (mouse and keyboard only). It's really a shame that the devs couldn't find a way to make the game more accessible to groups of people, outside of streaming it to an audience. It's perfect for friends to laugh over together but unfortunately, that's not really possible.

As a single-player experience it's funny for about 30 minutes but then it gets boring. It isn't like other rhythm games that present a lasting challenge by requiring some skill or technique. Trombone Champ is very superficial in that sense and is purely for the lols, which I can't enjoy with friends.

I'm going to keep the game because I got it at a heavy discount and a cup of coffee would have cost me more. But I doubt I will play it more than once or twice. I will give it this, though; it's a really funny idea and well executed, in the presentation of it at least. But... I don't know, you couldn't find a way to make it enjoyable with other people? Really? Just feels like a missed opportunity.

The song selection is great and only expands more if your into modding. SO much fun and hilarious.

Brilliant game about Baboons. Story is brilliant (yes this game actually has a story)

Truly a masterpiece of our era. I never knew true happiness before picking up this game. The English jargon has no words to truly capture the essence of this magnificent work of art.

It's soooo good! Sweet, short and fun! I'd say it's definitely worth full price.

Needs beat line divisions (syncopation is rather tricky to see visually when there's a lot of slides on screen)

Regarding Songs:
Some of the remixes are really good even some of the originals by Holy Wow (devs), some are just horrible to learn and frankly kinda sounds bad (worst one is uhh, yet again an original by Holy Wow), some like House of rising sun had so much potential but eh, i was dispapointed.

The UI and the gameplay works quite well with non-conventional music scale music but works terrible but the beat syncopation visualisation is definitely this game's worst part.

Also too many US-specific songs especially US marine related ones, not enough world culture songs, but its nice they included some of the most famous ones like whatever the tetris theme is called. This game would work well with certain unconventional scale music like debaussy's maid with flaxen hair, and a lot of copyrighted works like kirby: marx's theme
This song has a lot of potential with custom songs, its a shame you have to mod the game and there's no steam workshop functionality for it.

Trombone Champ takes a very meme'd on instrument in the music community, the trumpet, and turns it into a very chaotic yet cohesive and entertaining rhythm game that continues to maintain a very tight-knit community. the base game itself is great but holy crap the modding community for this game is on a whole other level. i love when communities with different interests and developers can come together and expand on a game that is already oozing with so much personality.

Very fun and creative rhythm game. Very goofy style, can be 100% in about 5-7 hours. Great with a mouse even though I am normally a controller gamer.

This reminds me of my glory days of playing trombone. Granted even tho I suck at this game, it still sounds better than anything I had ever managed to play out of my own trombone. Worth the 15 bucks.

This looks like a ridiculous meme game, and while that's not untrue, it's also really well made and the most fun I've had in a while.

I will also never hear Thus Spoke Zarathustra the same way again.

Trombone Champ is probably one of the silliest, weirdest rhythm games out there. Definitely worth picking up if you are a fan of rhythm games and want to try something different.

I highly recommend the Switch version since that includes multiplayer, but the PC version has more accurate controls and receives relatively frequent updates that add more songs and features for the game.

One another note, did you know an adult baboon can weigh between 248 and 704 hot dogs depending on the species?

This game is great on steamdeck, it is so much fun with gyro controls. Some have told me that's the worst way to play it, but honestly I think it's the most fun. It's not about playing the best it's about frantically tilting to approximate the correct notes.

pros:

funny, the hand/ear coordination is interesting to navigate, jumping up to a long high note and hitting it dead-on felt divine, was surprised to see Max Tundra so involved? that's a name I've not heard in a long time, glad he's still getting work. accurately lets you choose a pasty albino guy.

cons:

replaces a lot of single notes with bends for comedic effect to the detriment of the music, mouse direction was inverted by default for some reason, default audio latency setting was unplayable, had to lower the buffer all the way to make it feel right, mouse sensitivity was way too high for good accuracy had to lower DPI in mouse driver, lots of pompous marchy "farty" songs (again, for comedic effect) and not enough serious haunting songs, many of these public domain "classic" songs people have only heard the first few bars of, when the remaining 75% of the song happens it's like "what is happening I've never heard this part in cartoons before I'm completely lost", would've been better served by a medley or something.

felt like I experienced 80% of this game within the first hour of playing it. there should be waaaay more songs considering it's essentially just finding public domain stuff and creating a MIDI track in the engine for it and photoshopping some background graphics. not worth the full price unfortunately.

I'd like to see these same mechanics (minus all the bends) used to make a serious game with actually good music.

i flushed cards down the drain, failed a one star multiple times, knocked loudly and repeatedly at an old man's (trap)door and almost sacrificed my soul. great game very fun

It is a good game. However, the choice of songs are limited but for ones that are there, it is good.

The scoring is very generous, leaning towards a more casual rhythm game experience so its good for anyone who wants to give it a try. Something about the Trombone gives me the fuzzy feelings

The game is fun and practically the personification of a meme.

The gameplay is simple, but the difficulty can escalate to completely absurd levels. There’s a good variety of music, along with plenty of secrets hidden throughout the game. The graphics are simple, the sound quality is excellent, but the sound of the trombone and the horn definitely adds a chaotic touch, which ends up being quite funny.

There are also a lot of collectible cards to find. Overall, it’s a fun game to kill time.

By the way, I’m writing this review because of the Steam award, and I’m sure I can do better than this.

Very fun game, although I wish there were more achievmants. I also wish the story went further than it did but that only shows I wish there was more of the game, which is technically good? Very fun. Very goofy. 7/10

I've always wanted to be a Tromboner, but ever since the accident it has been difficult for me to put my mouth on the mouthpiece. This game brought that dream closer to home, with a rich immersive story to go.

UI mechanic are different than typical Rythem game, which is very unique. and the songs are mostly toward into classical music and also can learn the history of it

A very good game where the whole thing is truly based on how you play, unlike other rhythm game where the buttons are random and make no effect.

A game about the most perfect brass instrument (saying this as clarinet player), Trombone Champ was a lot more fun and difficult than I thought it would be. The tracks are engaging, but also challenging as they progressively keep getting more and more difficult. The humor was totally unexpected, but extremely welcoming and gave me a few laughs. I totally recommend this game, even if you aren't a musician, because trombones are hilarious.

I haven't played for a while, but my band director showed us this game and I really liked it. I would 100% recommend if you have the money.
