Really fun and i bet it would be better with friends. each character has their own unique ability which is fun.
Keyboard settings that are downright clunky, a story mode that just ends without any clear resolution via sudden alien violence, and no replayability to it. That's what this game is. It has a nice set of pixel art and concept, but it just falls flat. Here's hooping this can be a stepping stone on the dev's journey.
After an hour felt like I'd pretty much seen and done what the game had to offer.
Game is extremely short, the replay ability is close to none existent since you don’t really get or unlock new moves/power ups. however the game itself is fun the dialog has a comical tone, even making fun of itself. For a single play thru the sale price is perfect, if you enjoy grinding new high scores I can see how full price is justifiable. This game is externally causal, short and fun.

Terror of Hemasaurus is quite relaxing game
It's classic arcade style game. No complicated controls, only simple goal of destroying everything on stage and the feeling of being powerfull beast. Just great.
In the game there are two modes: story and endless. Must say, story mode is rly good and funny, also.... self aware
That same story is a bit dark in a moments, after all it's about climate change and shows how lazy we area as a species.
Let's get back to the way it's played though. You get a few Kaiju to choose from. You can also change color of it though that will be only usefull in coop while you all want to play as the same beast. My fav was that salamander that can breathe fire, it's awesome. Every creature has diffrent ultimate atack so trying them all is quite fun.
Oh and DO NOT BUY THIS FOR A KID. This game has a lot of blood and killing. Sure the game is in pixel art but still... stages CAN and WILL be covered in red at some point.
I enjoyed it. Just simple, good looking game to relieve stress.

Fun game can play through the arcade / story in like 2.5 hours. There is an endless mode that I need to try, the controls are simple but there is an interesting physics model in the game that makes throwing/kicking/punching really fun trying to utilize objects for more destruction. Good pallet cleanser after a more serious game.

I like the destruction, the monsters and the super abilities. The characters and story are cool. Cheats are awesome and make the game fun to max out the monsters abilities and wreck the town. Eating the humans is so much fun. Both tank mode and UFO modes are really cool. One down side is that the explosions can be a little overpowering. The tutorial is a little long.

So I got Terror of Hemasaurus a couple weeks ago, played through it (it runs... OK? on steamdeck, some MASSIVE performance issues after a few moments of play when around tall buildings until i go close to the top of the towerblock that's seemingly causing it, which presumably are due to the physics simulations going a bit wonky on larger buildings, given how it seems to constantly have to do a "deturbulating simulation" after every level. Going to presume this is a bug that's gonna eventually be fixed), and had a pretty fun time!
One of my fondest childhood memories is slapping a tape in my ZX Spectrum 128K +2, making sure it was rewound, then waiting the 40 minutes or so for the arcade conversion of Rampage to load, before finally playing it. It should tell you something that I wore the HECK outta that tape. To the point my parents had to buy little me another copy of it, because it just WOULD NOT load any more. That tape was 100% cooked. Sure, the tape itself was intact, it hadn't stretched or broken or anything, but oh boy the magnetic particles in the tape were fffffuuuuuuudged. There was nothing but garbage according to my beloved grey Speccy's built in tapedeck - sorry, DATACORDER - after it loaded the fantastically colourful load-screen up.
Sure, there were other Rampage games through the years, but I'll be honest, the simple joy of the OG one never got matched for me, even by ports of the game to other, BETTER systems. Like, even the Master System one didn't really compare for some reason. I just felt... nothing from it.
Either there were characters missing (sure, Lizzy is great, but who the heck wants to play as boring ol' George, especially when the wolfman, RALPH, is available!?... except... when he ISN'T for some reason?? like, c'mon even the speccy version let you play as Ralph, Lizzy, OR theotherguywhatever! And that had a total of 16 colours, with a maximum of two per 8x8 pixel square!), or gameplay felt sluggish (again, how does the speccy have better response than the console versions that came later, jeez), or you need like a degree for using the computer before you can even think about emulating it (WinUAE was always something I WANTED to get running, but apparently i don't know enough about Amiga computers to even get it to run the friggin desktop, let alone a game x-x; ), so by the time the PS2 and whatever generation titles came out I had just... given up, and didn't even bother.
Terror of Hemasaurus is like the OG Rampage that I remember, but with physics, and more silliness, and also super moves! AND without some of the flaws of the original! SUre, in Rampage you could eat civilians to recover health (whilst still being vulnerable the whole time to additional damage while the animation played out, so any health gain would immediately be lost and THEN some), you could climb up buildings to avoid damage from tanks and such (but still get absolutely ended by police and army shooting from windows in the buildings around you and get stunlocked before you can punch them to get rid of ONE of the hundreds of the annoying pests. like how the hell does a tiny bullet do anything close to damage to a TWENTY FOOT TALL MONSTROUS POWERHOUSE OF MURDER, c'mon, really???), and sure to escape a building about to collapse under you, you could jump from building to building (hah. good luck with that. because if you so much as mistime your inputs, you'll not grab the building, or maybe you'll take damage and get stunlocked mid-air and fall to the ground anyway and take a ton of damage again! YAY), but in Hemasaurus's world, you can do ALL of this, AND damage is scaled much fairer, you don't take falling damage (thank goodness), AND you even get a move to do a massive amount of damage to the building and area around you when you land with a buttslam which is VERY satisfying to use, AND you get a supermove, which is unique to each character!!
did I say character as in there are multiple? YES, I DID. Each one is different. Sure you got a punch and a kick (and the kick can be aimed and reflect missiles back! WOO!), you can pick up civilians to yeet them at others, or at buildings or at helicopters so you don't gotta get lucky and position yourself right to punch them, you can EAT civilians on the ground or a building OR IN MID AIR, with a SINGLE button press as opposed to punching and HOPING you get them, and you don't HAVE to eat everything you punch in a building, so no taking forced damage from accidentally eating a TV or something ridiculous that you couldn't see was in the window because you were desperately trying to eat that one civilian that COULD be eaten - again, screw you OG rampage, for that BS.
The controls are tight, the gameplay is fun, the story is VERY amusing and VERY silly, and whilst very short all things considered, I had a whale of a time with it. Would LOVE to see more characters, more special moves, and more content for it, but what's here is already so satisfying. It's honestly like someone saw what I wanted from the original Rampage, and was like "yeah but what if it was that, but BETTER too??" and made it, and I can't thank them enough.
Tiny me would be blown away that this game could ever exist, and would be absolutely overjoyed that they would eventually get to play such a great game.
The game is very good for the price. It's fun, simple but has some complexity, allowing for surprisingly high skill ceiling. It's fun and satisfying to level cities, kick, throw and eat people.
That being said, the plot tries a hard to have some, let's say black pilled humor about how humanity is screwed because of themselves. It's like humanity causes global warming and they dont care they are destroying themselves, but it ends up being very preachy and superficial, it's not funny and you don't learn anything from it. It's very forced.
That being said, the gameplay is awesome and the game is dirt cheap for what it offers. Soundtrack is above average, it's fitting and kinda catchy.

Rampage if it had physics, and it's just as fun as you'd think. A perfect pick up and play for 5 minutes but realize it's been 2 hours kind of game.

This takes me back to the days of Rampage in the Arcade, it's like the long lost sequel we never knew we needed, and I'm so glad I got to play this! Get three friends and prepare to smash buildings, cars, pedestrians, police and army guys in a fun loaded frenzy, while enjoying the hilarious satire of the story. Greatness all around and many thanks to Loren Lemcke!

It just gets boring really, really fast. There's a few more gimmicks in it than Rampage '86, but not nearly enough. And with more work to actually achieve any destruction, it's slower to reward the "smash stuff" part of your brain, so it actually feels worse.
I've got 83 minutes between trying to entertain two separate kids with this, and they were both dead bored by the time we put it away. So 40 minutes, tops, of entertainment.

This is probably the best game created in the last 10 or so years. I want this as an arcade machine!
Seriously though, there is no possible way that you can not enjoy this game. It has almost everything that anybody could ever want in a game: a comical but extremely relevant storyline about a current cult, fire, explosions, monsters, blood, dissolving bodies, a great soundtrack, guns, rocket launchers, tanks, UFOs, MORE EXPLOSIONS, and so on!
This game NEEDS a sequel right now!
One of the greatest Rampage-inspired games ever, in its way far exceeding even Rampage World Tour, Terror of Hemasaurus delivers all the city destroying, people eating, explosive driven gameplay you could ever want out of a side-scrolling kaiju city smasher, but with a deliciously satirical storyline and a unique personality.
The art is adorably gorey, the music upbeat and percussive, and there's just something so delightful about getting to giant monster-kick a police swat van into one of their own helicopters.
If you like your giant monster action to be the ultimate level of cathartic destruction, you need to play Terror of Hemasaurus!

Terror of Hemasaurus from start to finish is an absolute blast, a one in a million chance of me finding this game but so grateful that it landed in my lap when it did, times were tough for me and i certainly needed an outlet; having such a well refined game with satisfying physics and glorious destruction with cute little kaiju' committing near unspeakable inhumane crimes against humanity was an amazing little power trip to experience, a pride and joy to be my first game to 100% on steam with its achievements!
With all my heart i recommend this game, even with how it presents itself in it's story and themes the love and passion that went into this game is never not felt when knocking down a building, kicking a car or eating, stomping, throwing, slamming someone into blood and gore. After seeing the update video from the developer i was compelled to write a review and this will probably be my longest ever just to show my love, support, and thanks to The Developer;

Fantastic game. Fun homage to Rampage and classic Kaiju films. The humor is great and so is the gameplay.
I would check out the game since the new beta for the Paingo character was recently announced. That character is extremely fun to play as.

upon hearing the bad news from on 'What has been going On' i feel really sad. I hope thing will turn out well eventually, for your mental and physical health as well. Gifting the game to some one is probably the best thing i can do since ive already bought the fantastic games.
the game itself is very fun. the script is very funny. the gameplay is exciting. The music is awesome. And ofcourse, for those who played rampage on playstation, would feel the nostalgia coming all over again :-D
This is a great game made by a great developer. Its a breath of fresh air in smash em up games like a certain lizard game on ps4 that costs a lot. The ability to play with friends is truly great so you can have a party play. The concept in this game is done beautifully and the graphics and art are superb. The soundtrack fits perfectly in this game. This is truly an awesome game.
Fantastic ode to older games that doesn't rely on nostalgia bait. In fact, I'd say it surpasses the Rampage series it emulates. The gameplay, art, and humor are great, as well as the music and sound effects. It also runs great on my potato of a computer. Buy it to experience a fun time and help out the developer!

This has been some of the most genuine fun I have ever had with a game since browser game days. The simple yet fun gameplay, the destruction, the carnage, the fun little homages to Godzilla and other Kaiju media. Its all fantastic. I just had to give my opinion on it and why I think this game should be more well known and beloved. Such a fantastic game.
This game is a great little passion project my friends and I have thoroughly enjoyed all the way through. It's exactly as you'd expect and it does that very well. One of the best in it's genre.
If you want some arcade fun when you play as a giant monster tearing down buildings and so on, this is the game for you. The game runs pretty well, it works on Linux just fine and you can play with your buddies locally.
This game is a lot of fun! If you feel like going on a rampage, it will scratch that old itch. There are also many thoughtful little details to keep the formula more engaging than its predecessors were. Hopped into Endless mode with the intention of just giving it a quick try and ended up having a blast for two hours straight. Good, clean, hyperviolent fun.

Despite the rocky nature of the Dev and the Publisher I will Leave this review in hopes that the Developer gets the attention he needs to be noticed by less rocky and more artist friendly publishers. Good devs and good people don't deserve to be crushed by bad business.
Incredible fun game, having fond memories of playing Rampage back in the day on the SEGA, this game provided a nice homage and trip down memory lane. The visuals and destruction are oh so satisfying! :D

Today I decided to write a review to help out a fellow gamedev who has been dealt a really rough hand.
Pretty awesome game! Love the chaos you can create and brings back memories of rampage world tour, although this is way better 😂.
If you were wishing for a Rampage game for our modern times, this is definitely it. The arcade story mode is short (2.5ish hours) but fun, both funny and grim. The endless mode is where the real meat of the game is though, at least as far as I'm concerned.
The controls felt a little wonky at first to get used to, but I adapted quickly and that feeling went away.
I love the unlockable cheats. Feels like the old days to be able to complete challenges to unlock some seriously OP cheats and just go nuts on the game. Great time all around.

Note that it has an endless arcade mode that we do first and then the longer tutorial.
This game features wicked humour, lots of satisifying death, even more satisifying desctruction, a cult ( well in the tutorial ) and just oozes wholesome goodness.
Had a lot of fun with this as you will see in the video and honestly, worth every penny and glad to add this to my collection.
